This year has been crazy. I am currently in the middle of two fiction books, one audiobook, and now starting this one for work. Unfortunately most of my reading this year has been job related for various certifications but this at least looks interesting.

I'm still processing what I read in this book. I definitely want to read more about Grace Humiston as there are holes I think need to be filled. Overall I enjoyed this and the fact that it read like a novel although nonfiction.

Not book related, but reading related. One of my passions is coaching kids to be stronger versions of themselves. I truly believe that teaching them to be strong in the gym will carry over out of the gym. The reason I've been so quiet on Litsy for the last couple of months is I've been working on this certification which meant lots of reading, just not casually. Now that I've finished I will hopefully be back to reading and Litsy. I've missed it.

This book was so enjoyable. It definitely fit the description of Pride and Prejudice meets Little Women. I had a feeling throughout what the ending would be, but the story leading up to that ending kept it enjoyable. Chosen by a friend who decided to start a book club. But it also fits #newtomeauthor for #booked2019

Setting my goal at 50 again this year. Although I didn't reach it last year, I did read 23 books with almost no reading between May and November so I think this is very doable. I am also going to do #booked2019 even though I didn't complete #booked2018. I may do #litsyatoz as I almost completed it last year.

Currently reading the tagged book.

I really enjoyed this murder mystery. Seldom are they written with the plot being the thought process of the detective. As someone who likes puzzles and logic problems that appealed to me. I didn't expect the different style twist it had. I wish this author was easier to find. I'd read more. Read for #booked2018 #Japanesethriller Hope to finish one more before the year ends.

I read this for #booked2018 #beachread. (Yes I am very far behind, yay work) I tend to read Nicholas Sparks a lot in the summer since they are easy, if not somewhat predictable reads. Once again I enjoyed his book. I did figure one thing out at the end, but it wasn't as predictable as I expected.

So I haven't been on Litsy much this year because a merger at work and subsequent issues with ridiculous overtime and stress. It didn't leave me with much energy for reading. Thankfully things have calmed down a little. Actually read this book for my job as they arranged "book clubs" choosing this to be first to try to fix some issues after the merger. .... Continued in comments

MoMogrl I took a lot out of this book and think anyone who needs to work as a team should read it. I have seen some positive changes between our two offices as a result of our discussions. Sadly some people chose not to read it although it would have been very beneficial for everyone to. 11mo

Although this took me a while to finish (mostly do to life stresses) I enjoyed reading this. You do have to enjoy first hand accounts which aren't always entertaining, but I found that I didn't want to put it down. I just couldn't do this. I really enjoyed Hunger and expected the same from this book. It didn't feel like a book about feminism just a book about how society is wrong about basically everything. While I agree things need to change I just couldn't do it after the fifth chapter referencing rape and rape culture. Bailed about 50% through

StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego This book was awful. Well, in that the title was completely misleading. It wasn't about feminism. It was just a random collection of her thoughts. I wish she'd stick to fiction, because An Untamed State is one of my favourite books, but I don't see myself reading another of her memoir type books again. 1y

Question for any of you who read a lot of comics. My husband just subscribed to Marvel Unlimited and put it on my tablet for me too. My Marvel knowledge pretty much is only from the cinematic universe and not even all of the movies. This is not because I don't like it, but more because I am a bit overwhelmed and not sure where to start. Do you have suggestions? I don't even have a favorite character/movie so it's harder for me to narrow down.

jenniferw88 3 ideaa: find out if your favourite actor is in the universe and read that character's comics. 2. If you are into feminism try Black Widow. 3. 2y
RachLovesTV So many great Marvel titles! Some of my favorites are The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel, She-Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow. If you're confused about the order to read issues (because there are multiple ones for each character), you can google about it and there are lots of helpful websites that will tell you reading orders. Have fun! 2y
RaimeyGallant Have you found the @LitsyGetsGraphic account yet? 2y
xicanti My favourite Marvel series you can leap straight into with zero background info are Hawkeye (2012), The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl (2015), Silver Surfer (2014) and X-Factor (2005). If you want to look into crossovers and suchlike, Annihilation is a good starting point because it's simple to follow. Just read each miniseries straight through; no leaping from title to title. It's also a gateway to Marvel Cosmic, which is all the stuff in SPACE. 2y
xicanti If you're ever confused about reading order, Comic Book Herald has lots of guides. And if you want to figure out which book you just read so you can tag it on Litsy or enter it into your reading list, the jacket copy for every Marvel trade is available on Amazon and tells you which issues are included therein (ex, "this contains RANDOM TITLE #1-6, with material from OTHER COMIC #45). 2y
