After a job change and having my reading be primarily related to a nutrition certification I was finishing up, I am finally back to reading for fun. Reading this on serial reader was the perfect way to get back to reading.

It kept me engaged and although I suspected some things might occur, it still kept me guessing which I love in a book.

This seems like an easy enough readathon for me to enjoy. My goals are going to be simple. Read 10 minutes of nonfiction and 10 minutes of fiction every day. I find time goals are much more doable for me than the pressure of finishing a book. This is in addition to the reading I am doing to get nutrition coaching certified.

I am so happy I finally have time to read for fun again. Although much of my reading right now is for work (job change, working on some certifications, and reading books on how to grow clientele in the fitness space) I have much more time for myself.

Read this for #StarWarsBuddyRead. I enjoyed it even though I had not read the others in the trilogy. It added to some back story during clone wars. @BookwormAHN

I want to cancel my audible membership as I am finding I spend way more time listening to podcasts than books, nevermind the many other reasons there are to cancel audible. That being said, I have 12 credits I want to use before I cancel so I am looking for audiobook recommendations. I generally listen to nonfiction, but I read almost anything.

Pic of my reading buddy for attention.

Last review of my vacation reads. This was also one I was reading for my coaching job because we can figure out the best way to coach someone if we can figure out their love language. I enjoyed it, but I also enjoy almost any psychological analysis especially how it affects relationships. I think it should be read by everyone in a meaningful relationship.

Read this as part of my training for my coaching job at the gym. It was a very quick read, and very thought provoking especially if you are someone who has to work on a team. It is written from the perspective of a sports team, but can easily be applied to any team setting.

Finally can access the litsy app again after months of not being able to. Read this while on vacation last week and really enjoyed it. It's an interesting psychological suspense novel and hard to tell what is real and what isn't in the main characters head at times.

Had my first powerlifting meet this past Sat to complete a #bfc2022 goal. I went 9 for 9 with 26 white lights, so almost a perfect meet. (There are 3 lifts squat, bench and deadlifts with 3 attempts each. You also have 3 judges for each attempt that give you a white light for a good lift or a red light for a bad lift). I also set personal bests in bench and deadlift and hit my goal of a 600lb total. It was a great meet. (Cont'd in comments)

MoMogrl This was my goal setting journal for the meet. I had to take it somewhat easy due to minor tweaks, but it was successful. On to the next. @wanderinglynn 2y

Haven't posted in a while but wanted to get my #BFC2022 goals in writing. I have been working hard on fitness goals over the last year. I successfully gained 5lbs of muscle & lost 5% body fat. I am now training for a powerlifting meet in March. My goals for Feb are:

1) continue working on meal prep and recovery
2) read 5 minutes a day. Hopefully audiobooks including this one will help get that goal.
3) don't miss a training day.
@wanderinglynn

wanderinglynn That‘s awesome! Way to go! 🙌🏻 I hope you let us know how your upcoming meet goes. 2y

Haven't been active on Litsy this year. However, I had to share the huge progress I have had for #BFC21. The pictured book helped.

I am finally putting me first, consistently working out 4 days a week, eating whole foods and started powerlifting. Strong women unite! My goals for this month are: continue consistent workouts, walk on days I don't work out, dial in my macros, and read 10 min a day.

@wanderinglynn

LauraBrook Congratulations!!! That‘s a lot of work in every way, and it changes all areas of your life. Putting yourself first is so hard to do (struggling with it myself), and you have done an excellent job! 👍🏼🙌🏼💪🏼 3y

I loved this book as I continue my fitness journey. I am so sick of the stigma that women can't be strong and muscular because "you'll look like a man". This book breaks through that stigma and every woman should read it.

RachelAmphlett I‘ll get this. I went back to the gym working with a PT twice a week as soon as we got out of lockdown in May after being almost crippled with arthritis for 18 months and I‘m loving it! I‘m already stronger than I was 4 years ago and have just increased to three sessions per week - forgotten how much I loved weight training! 3y

Anyone ever had this issue? Plugged my kindle paperwhite in to charge it this morning (not to a computer). This came up on the screen. I have since unplugged it, tried force restarting by holding the power button and this won't disappear. I can't do anything. I also can't disconnect it from a computer it was never connected to.

britt_brooke Is there another charger you can try? I‘m grasping at straws, but sometimes a malfunctioning charger can cause issues. 3y
britt_brooke You may have to wait for battery to completely drain so it‘ll actually turn off (as much as a Paperwhite can power off anyway), then try plugging in again. 3y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Last time I got a weird message similar to this, I googled and found that it meant my Kindle was kaput. Hope you have better luck! 😥 3y

BarbaraTheBibliophage But definitely try a hard reset first. Hold the power button down and don‘t let go. The opening screen may come back up and it will be back to normal. 3y
MoMogrl @britt_brooke @BarbaraTheBibliophage thanks. I had to plug it into my computer to "disconnect" it. I really hope this doesn't happen again. I've never had the issue with the charger I used... The Kindle is 5 or 6 years old so crossing my fingers I won't have more issues. 3y

Feb goals will be: read 10 minutes every day, five workouts a week, increase water and protein intake.

Also, what app does everyone use to do the gorgeous collages for their posts? I can't seem to figure it out. I'm on Android.

I really enjoyed this. I am pretty familiar with video game history from the 90s on, but this definitely helped fill in the gaps. It also brought out connections I wasn't aware of between original games and games of today. Finished with my snuggle buddy. She's still learning it's ok to be a lap cat.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa So sweet, and she‘s learning! 3y
MoMogrl @Riveted_Reader_Melissa she is. She showed up on our deck about a year and a half ago. We figured out she was dumped outside when her previous owners moved. She was always sweet, but we could tell wasn't allowed to be a cat with her previous owners. (we also suspect she was abused) Watching her learn how to be a cat and that it's ok to snuggle has been so rewarding. 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @MoMogrl I‘m so glad she found a safe warm home with you. Breaks my heart when people treat their pets poorly. 3y

So 2020 has been a year. (for everyone) Between most of my reading being for a certification for work, having to say goodbye to one of our kitties, and working crazy hours I have not had time or desire for pleasure reading for a long time. After hubby and I built a Lego tie fighter this morning taking the rest of the day to relax and read. Finished one I started earlier this year. Starting this one now. Is my nerdiness showing?

Another audiobook down. I really enjoyed how this book compared the attitude of this small Vermont town to the overall attitude of parents towards sports specificity. As someone who coaches kids and teens I see all the time how sports specificity affects them mentally. Let them be kids, not specialists and unstructured play is key. Then they will not only be good athletes, they will thrive.

Not book related, but reading related. One of my passions is coaching kids to be stronger versions of themselves. I truly believe that teaching them to be strong in the gym will carry over out of the gym. The reason I've been so quiet on Litsy for the last couple of months is I've been working on this certification which meant lots of reading, just not casually. Now that I've finished I will hopefully be back to reading and Litsy. I've missed it.
