Not having much luck lately with narrators. I like Bronson Pinchot as an actor, but not so much as an audiobook narrator. 😕

While I‘m waiting for the second Gwendy audiobook to be available, I‘ll listen to this. “Once, in a kingdom called Delain, there was a king with two sons…
Thus begins one of the most unique tales that master storyteller Stephen King has ever written—a sprawling fantasy of dark magic and the struggle for absolute power that utterly transforms the destinies of two brothers born into royalty.”
Day at the beach with Stephen King. Such a fun read. 🐉
I always love when King dabbles with fantasy. This is a quite simple story at its core (with Flagg and a character named Roland making appearances, wink wink) but it‘s told with such passion and talent it‘s hard not to smile wide while reading it.
Just started this one and it‘s every bit as good as everyone has told me.
5⭐ This is one of my favorite books by King and a must-read for fans of The Dark Tower series. This book is less thriller and more fairy tale, which is a fun change of pace, and it has one of my favorite escape plans I've ever read.
Wow. I had read and loved this when I was much, much younger, and didn't know how kind time would be. The answer, as it turns out, is extremely. This is one of King's best - pure fantasy with the most personable narrator he's written (which is truly saying something with King), an engaging story with desperate stakes, and likeable characters with (for the most part) human failings. I would be remiss to wait as long before I pick it up again. 5/5
Christmas gift prep (made several handmade gifts this year) kept me away from Litsy and from reading the way I intended to. It was a fabulous holiday though, and now I'm getting some quality reading in, along with some excellent snuggles.

🎧 This was surprisingly better than anticipated!!! Bronson Pinchot narrates so that added some Star power … I was being generous with my rating but I‘d read it again, good call backs to other books.
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
This was not my first King read, that was The Shining at 10 years old. However, this is the book that made King my favorite author. 💚
After years of reading his classic early horror, I picked up this dark fantasy tale and I was transported. King is a master storyteller and his fantasy novels are some of my favorites. The versatility he has as a writer astounds me and leaves me in awe.
Here's to many more adventures Mr. King 💚
The Eyes of The Dragon
Edgar Alan Poe
The Empire Strikes Back, Evil Dead, Excalibur
Eagles, Elton Jonn
Endless Dark by HIM, Eclipse by Pink Floyd, Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks

This was the latest stop on my Stephen King re-read journey. I have not read this one since high school and I truly forgot how great this story is. It has some very clear Dark Tower ties (i.e., the evil magician, Flagg) but is definitely it's own wonderful story. Absolutely add this to your list, especially if you're looking to try Stephen King for the first time!

Happy Easter weekend!
I liked that a horror author wrote fantasy! 3.5 ⭐

An enjoyable diversion from King's usual offerings. A little disjointed, as if being told in a casual manner of a traveling storyteller. Fun narrative voice. Flagg was a little underdeveloped in the second half; went from threatening to a bit comical. The exiles subplot was also kinda pointless. But overall, I liked it a lot.
For now I‘m avoiding any of Stephen King‘s pandemic-related books. This one will hopefully make this 5 day quarantine a little more tolerable. 24hrs in and I‘m starting to lose it. Thanks Covid. 🙄 🐉 📖
Not sure the day, moment, year, exact book… but there was a moment and I swear it was sometime when I read Eyes of the Dragon at a too young age that I realized I was hooked on the magic of books!! 2021 was the year I got a tattoo to reflect my love of reading 📖
I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it. Some will be old, some will be new - don't judge me, I have a lot of books.

3 Books I Recommend to Others
1. This is the King book I rec to people who say they don't like horror, therefore they don't like King. This is a gorgeous fairytale!
2. This is book that usually flies off my Staff Picks shelf at the bookstore- which I happily sell during the holidays bc it's a natural pick for Bride fans!
3. The book I rec for most jaw dropping twist ever!
I wasn‘t sure I was going to like this one, especially when it got off to such a slow start. I wanted horror! But this dark fairytale grew on me. It‘s not gory or overtly horrifying, but it‘s a good story and was perfect to read on a dark and stormy night. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A good book with a plot centered around revenge. Even though it wasn't long it did feel like it drug on a bit in places. The first third of the book is backstory which is vital but I was ready for the actual plot to begin. Definitely worth reading but not one of King's best.
This was different from any other books I've read by King, it's a fantasy novel and written in a fairytale style though not for kids as there's some horror elements; overall it just goes to show how versatile King is as a writer and this was a fun read. 4/5 💫
@sprainedbrain did you end up reading it? What was your thoughts on it?
Started reading this today and I‘ve got one of my favorite shows on TV (Home Improvement).
I seldom read fantasy novels so I‘ve been procrastinating on reading this one. Glad I read it as it was kind of a fairytale/fantasy story that also gave me some Dark Tower series vibes. #MountTBR
A Stephen King fairy tale. I didn't know what to expect, but it was definitely not like any King book I've ever read. It takes a while to get going, but it kept me up late tonight, it's now 3:06am, wanting to see how it was going to end. 3 💥💥💥 1/2

Checking out this departure from his usual style. Anyone read this? Thoughts without spoilers?
Nathan!!! Thank you so much for the wonderful box! Currently eating my amazing Jelly Flops, and I really love the Cat mug. There‘s a Caterpillar in Peoria- plus we do love our earth moving equipment here in southern Illinois! Love the book, of course but I gotta tell ya- those KitKats are weird. Not sure what those green ones are supposed to be, but since you‘re the guy who sent me a sucker with dead ants in it I may just admire them! 🧡
I like Stephen King. I‘m not an enormous groupie but I do enjoy what I‘ve read of his. I had never heard of this one and expected a horror book when a friend recommended it. I was wrong. While Flagg was a perfect creepy villain it was more of a fairy tale story than anything. Loved it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm very surprised with how much I'm enjoying this one so far! 🐲

It took me some time to get into this one because there was not enough dragon and it was not a typical Stephen King. But it is written like a fairy tale and I appreciated the subtleties of its special brand of wisdom and humor. I liked the ending the best and would like a follow-up adventure with some of the redeemed characters. #Eyesofthedragon #LosersClub #StephenKing @DGRachel

Finished my reread for #losersclub via audio today. While I‘m not a fan of the narrator, I still love this book. I think this is the third or fourth time I‘ve read it. A good fantasy tale with clever plot elements and great characters. I am looking forward to discussing it with the group!
#audioknitting plus watching exciting playoff football this afternoon 🧶 🏈 📚
This was my second reading of The Eyes of the Dragon so I opted for the audio version. Bronson Pinchot is a really good narrator and his voice for Flag sounds a lot like Kylo Ren which is quite entertaining. I really enjoyed it 🐲

Spending lunch today starting #TheEyesOfTheDragon by #StephenKing I can't wait to see where this adventure takes me🤓📖
This was a simple fantasy story focusing on one nuclear family, a bad magician, and the power of friendship. Well written, clear, clever.
Hulu just ordered a pilot episode. 🤞
Ok. Do not go into this book expecting the usual Stephen King awesomeness. It's still awesome, just not the usual King fare. Firstly, he wrote this book for his daughter when she was young, so in a sense I suppose you could categorize it as middle grade. And it is toned down A LOT for him. Secondly, it's a fun rip-roaring fantasy by one of our time's best storytellers. **Finished in comments**
Very different from any of the numerous other books I have read by this author but I still thoroughly enjoyed it all the same. Randall Flagg is such an iconic villain when it comes to King's works. It was interesting to learn more of his history.
