Current reading and enjoying it much more than The Lie Tree, though that was a decent enough read.

I've been watching documentaries about Big Food and the sugar lobby in particular lately....an important read that I'm sure will get my blood boiling too.
A quick re read of this that I read when it was fairly new.... Then off to the charity shop in my epic declutter
Another YA covering tough subject matter.
I'm currently focusing on my physical TBR titles that I will pass on to charity etc after reading....I'm increasingly minimalist in my preferences and really want to reduce my physical books to much loved and a few TBR only.
Next up.... Strong reviews and hoping for a quick read
Early morning reading from the might have been MP for Ruislip 😜
Weirdly this is the second book in a row from me to have a quote by Armando Iannucci - so I did some digging and discovered comedian Jon Harvey has also worked with him, on In The Loop.
Just started this and enjoying it so far #currentlyreading
Next up - a bit of Scandi perspective on life!
Comfort re-read of a book I've not revisited for years. Wonder if I will enjoy it still 🤔
I've not had a lot of luck lately with the books I've tried. Hopefully this will get me out of a reading slump.
In April our beloved dog developed a horrible immune disorder called IMHA, collapsed despite vet medications and nearly died.... It's been hard to concentrate. Happily after a two week hospital stay and blood transfusions and lots of medications she is currently recovering well and on the road to remission 🤞🤞🤞
Another start of the month bookhaul.... Which is a really dumb choice when I already have so many tbr 🤷♀️ #sorrynotsorry
Next up - the world's most ridiculously large paperback 🤣🤣
I don't often do a #weeklyforecast as I tend to rebel against my own plans 🤣
But pretty sure I will be focusing on these this week.
@Cinfhen
Next up.....cosy blanket included! It's a mixed bag of reviews on this one but many of the reviewers with similar tastes to me seem to like it so 🤞
I ordered the paperback of Hell Bent, which was more expensive than the hardback, just so they would match....No!!!!🤦♀️😂🤦♀️😂
Starting this instead and hoping for a better book fit 🤞🤞🤞
EDIT: NOPE! Bailing fast...definitely not my thing!
Next up. Not sure what I'll make of this one, given some of the mixed views I've read..... Keeping an open mind and we'll see!
Finally opening this as my evening time / Kindle quick read.
Here is a link to a new Atwood short story exclusive in The Guardian.

Changing to a kindle title for reading at night to help my poor eyes....so many print books have such teeny print!
Ignoring the laundry and starting this instead.
I'll admit I only picked up this middle grade on Audible for Peter Capaldi narrating (have loved him since being obsessed with the film Local Hero in the 80s).....not far in but shaping up to be a great listen.
A wonderful present from a dear friend..... I've often eyed up this hard back anthology edition. Feeling very thankful 😍😍
Next up.
I abandoned the Audible version of this a couple of months ago but just discovered it on my Kindle too (ooops 😅🤦♀️).
Cheering myself up with a mini haul 👍👍
I haven't been finding time to read much for months as I'm caring for someone with vascular dementia round the clock.
Desperately needing a bit of self care / downtime so going to ease myself in with an old friend.... Probably my 8th time reading this novel since it was published in 1993
#bookreport #weeklyforecast I've not had much time to myself again this week so still working through these.
#weeklyforecast
Just going to focus on finishing these this week then will see where fancy takes me 😊
@Cinfhen
#bookreport
Slower progress this week as I've not had much free time. Looking forward to getting some reading time tomorrow 🤞🤞
@Cinfhen
Thanks you so much Cindy for kindly sending me the alternative (non UK) cover of this book.
Thanks for the teas and hand cream and the super cute bookish sticker too 😍😍😘😘
@Cinfhen
Been wanting to read this for a while #currentread
Not my favourite from the Stephen King I've read so far, but still a pick.
I normally like the detail King packs in but this felt like it could have done with a deeper edit to me.
Very disappointed as I wanted to love this but I was mostly bored.
Combined #bookreport and #weeklyforecast as life has been hectic this last week.
Finished The Witch's Tree last week and still reading and enjoying the others. I'm. Pla nong to compete them all in the coming week.
@Cinfhen
Pausing my spooky short story anthology to get started on this.
I wonder how long I'll wait for a sport coat reference 🤔
Expectation vs Reality 🐱
Also, my youngest has started Halloween decorating hence walls filled with bat stickers 🦇🦇

A by the numbers read but entertaining enough. I almost stopped reading a few pages in due to one of my absolute bugbears - speedy and lazy exposition done through clunky dialogue, where two characters cover all the backstory ground by announcing facts about their past for no believable reason. Pantomime villain too. I thought this was a beginner but turns out this is an experienced writer under a pen name. While it remained cheesy it got better.
#weeklyforecast
I will have less time this week and my teens are on their school winter break week. The plan is to finish the top two and get a good dent in the others. The Last House on Needless Street is on audible.

Another available with Prime Reading. I enjoy dual timeline stories if they are skillfully done so 🤞

A fairytale trope heavy, predictable end to the trilogy but fun getting there. Enjoyed this series for an easy read that was well done.
