I loved this! It definitely lives up to the hype. The illustrations totally made the story even better and I was thrown by the ending. Very fast paced and a good one to pick up if you need to get out of a reading slump! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Gothic horror mixed with historical fiction, featuring a haunted house, a priest who is also a witch, forbidden romance, and a young wife brought to the Hacienda by her new husband whose family knows the dark secrets of the house. I absolutely LOVED this story. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I loved this book so much, I tore through it in 2 sittings. An intriguing mystery and absolutely incredible characters. Anna's backstory being woven into this mystery really made the story very emotional and I could not put it down. Definitely one of my favorites so far this year. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My last two reads!
The Island is book 2 in the Hidden Iceland series- I really enjoy Hulda's character and I look forward to reading the final book soon!

I did enjoy The Murder Rule but it was VERY different from her Cormac McCarthy series. A little far-fetched but a good fast paced read!

I had not read this since high school and forgot how wonderful this story is! 12 year old Jack is on a quest between worlds to reach the Talisman to save his mom's life. A lot of adventure and action, and Jack's character is one of my favorites by King! Definitely check this out!

Addison_Reads One of my favorite King books. 💚 I still need to read the sequel. 2y

City on Fire: A Novel | Don Winslow
post image

Another truly stunning novel by Don Winslow. First in a trilogy, this centers around Italian and Irish crime families who go to war in the 80s. Danny Ryan is a perfect lead character and the tension and action that builds throughout just draws you in. Book 2 doesn't come out until next April, but I am sure it will be worth the wait!

Happy publication day to one of my most highly anticipated books of the year. This is the first in a trilogy. Don Winslow is an absolute favorite author of mine. Can't wait to dive into this tonight!

Bklover I haven‘t read him but my son likes him. Which book of his would you read first? 2y
amywithbooks @Bklover you really can't go wrong with any of them. If you want to check out an earlier one, I would go for The Winter of Frankie Machine. And I will always recommend his Cartel trilogy - the first book is The Power of the Dog. Crime fiction at its finest! 2y

This was the latest stop on my Stephen King re-read journey. I have not read this one since high school and I truly forgot how great this story is. It has some very clear Dark Tower ties (i.e., the evil magician, Flagg) but is definitely it's own wonderful story. Absolutely add this to your list, especially if you're looking to try Stephen King for the first time!
