Working on squares for a blanket while audiobooking Caretakers. The colors in the photo aren‘t true to the actual colors, thank goodness. 😁 Trying hard to not DNF this audiobook. Will not make my top of 2022 list for sure.
Just thought I‘d share a photo of our new reading buddy, Fuzz Aldrin. Although, at the moment, she seems to be prohibiting any reading. LoL 😂

A cozy Friday night in with my favorite detective.
Finished up Umasked by Paul Holes yesterday and now reading The Ghosts of Sleath by James Herbert. @Andrew65
1. The Lying Game by Ruth Ware
13 Best Horror Stories of All Time
2. The Ruins Not exactly as positive look at nature but…🤷🏻♀️
3. If reading in my car on my lunch break in order to depeople for 30 minutes counts, then It was The Lying Game on Friday.
@rachelsbrittain
Not only my current read, but also how I‘m feeling about household chores today. 🤣
Let the weekend reading begin!
At the Friends of the Library book sale. Line wraps around the block. So excited to see what treasures we find. 😁📚
This was a DNF for me. In the past I‘ve enjoyed Jennifer McMahon‘s books but this one just didn‘t work for me. I tried to stick it out but reached a point where I no longer cared about the characters or what happened to them. 🤷🏻♀️
Audiobook I‘ve settled on a solid “meh” for this one. The story was interesting but the characters weren‘t nearly as well rounded or engaging as The Silent Patient. It was hard to believe it would be so easy to insinuate oneself into a murder investigation the way Mariana did. Was planning to give this 3💀but the “reveal” caught me off guard and made for a good ending. So while not quite 4💀, I will give it 3 💀and a mandible.
This is a quick & unsettling read that will send shivers up your spine. It‘s set as a blog written by a mental health professional named Parker H. He recounts his time working in a hospital where a patient called Joe has been confined since he was a child. Much mystery & death surrounds Joe. Joe is assigned to the care of Parker who begins to unravel Joe‘s past & his stay at the facility. This is a quick read that delivers a powerful punch.
A bit late on this one…
1. There was a locally owned used bookstore where I grew up that opened up when I was a child and remained open until well after my kids were born called The Book Rack. They had the sweetest shop dog named Dandy. Also Chamblin Bookmine in Jacksonville.
2. Don‘t really have a favorite library currently although my daughter‘s middle name is Alexandria for the greatest library. :)
3. My job.
#wonderouswednesday
1. Sherlock Holmes and Ruth Galloway
2. I love trying to solve the mystery before the ending but also love it when there‘s a twist ending I didn‘t see coming.
3. Black House by Peter May
The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides was my audiobook for the work commute this week. And what a twisty turny ride it was!
This story hooked me from the start and didn‘t let go until the end. I even found myself sitting in the driveway for a bit to finish a chapter more than once. The voice actors, including Louise Brealey (Molly of BBC‘s Sherlock) do an amazing job bringing the characters and this story to life. 4.5💀
Finishing up The White Road this weekend. Have had the Charlie Parker series on my TBR for ages and just recently got around to beginning the series. Now I‘m reading it like it‘s my job. LoL #WeekendReading @Andrew65
Audiobook
Set on a small private island, this story takes place over a 48 hour period. Old friends and family come together to celebrate the wedding of Jules and Will. But everyone has a secret. Excellent suspense building that kept me on the edge of my seat. The voice actors for this audiobook were wonderful.
1. A Curious Beginning
2. National Lampoon‘s Christmas Vacation
3. Tagged

Really enjoyed the second installment of the Dublin Murder Squad series. The characters were well rounded and the mystery compelling. I wanted to know who dunnit but, at the same time, didn‘t want the story to end as I wanted to spend more time with the characters.
A bit of knitting while finishing up this audiobook. Stephen King straight up took a hatchet to all my feels and left them a bloody tattered mess with this one. You‘ve completely wrecked all my emotions, Uncle Stevie. Thank you. 🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓
1. Audio - Tagged book
Physical book - Wakenhyrst by Michelle Paver
Kindle - The Ghost Fields- Ellie Griffiths
2. Tagged - Nearing the end and SK is hitting me in all the feels. Very, very good.
Physical - Greatly enjoying the gothic feel.
Kindle- Reading a Ruth Galloway mystery feels like going home and enjoying a visit with an old friend.

Just when I thought this man couldn‘t possibly be kinder, sweeter or more thoughtful, I come home from work and he presents me with a new waterproof kindle paperwhite in blue. 🥰
This is looking like a huge vat of, “Oh wow! Mother Nature is beautiful!” with a swirl of, “This could be scary. But in a cool way.” Perfect reading weather! 😍
Getting in a bit of reading while waiting for the kiddos to get their vaccinations.
This was a wonderful Sunday afternoon read. For a good portion of the book I saw the twists and turns coming. Right up to the point I didn‘t. That was when I began flipping pages at warp speed. At the final reveal, I felt I had been holding my breath for ages. Highly recommend this killer thriller.

Was planning to start a GOT reread but got distracted by Novice Dragoneer which I had picked up for my daughter. She‘s currently reading something else, so I‘m diving in!
1. My comfy chair
2. Mystery/Horror (please don‘t make me choose!)
3. Blueberries
4. Fruity Pebbles
Finishing up this fun little book. A lot of information I already knew & an equal amount that was new to me. Highly recommend for the horror buffs.
Not book related, but for anyone who needs a laugh after a long, hard Monday, here you go! Sleepy yawning kitty or angry calico possum - you decide. 🤣
Red velvet cake and a tale of a haunted house in the English countryside. Perfection!
Four great short stories from an author who hasn‘t published enough.
Bruce Wayne would like to wish everyone a very Meowy Christmas!
@Moonprismpower Thank you so very much for your lovely gift! This will be my first read of 2021! Have a letter for you in the box ready to go out today. ❤️
1. I can‘t remember a time during my life when I didn‘t have a cat. My first was an orange tabby named Morris.
2. Benadryl. I‘m currently thankful for Benadryl.
#ThankfulThursday
This past week was exceptionally stressful and emotionally taxing, including the COVID-19 death of a 27 year old RN we knew. So I‘ve been escaping to my car on my lunch breaks for a little yarn therapy and audiobooking. Revisiting some old fiends, umm, friends, in ‘Salem‘s Lot. #unclestevie @Freespirit
This was my first book by Peter Swanson. Will not be my last. Loved this mystery loaded with twists and turns. Even better that part of the plot revolved around some well known mystery novels and a bookshop. Was the perfect rainy afternoon read.
Had heard nothing but good things about this one and was super excited to read it. Sadly, this best thing I can say is that it was a quick read. I really wanted to like it, but just couldn‘t. I felt it came across more as a script for a B horror movie rather than a book. Everything seemed to be presented as descriptions of movie scenes instead of a smooth, cohesive story. 😕
Bruce Wayne would love to wish you a very happy #InternationalCatDay but he‘s currently melting off the couch.
Happy International Cat Day!!!
When you‘re reading your fave book to your reading buddy and he doesn‘t like how the story is going but then is blown away by the twist ending. #InternationalCatDay
Y‘all, this book is is amazeballs!!!! I greatly enjoyed Alex North‘s novel The Whisper Man (recommend the audiobook read by Christopher Eccleston ). But The Shadows blows The Whisper Man away by miles! Full of atmospheric creepiness and keeps you flipping pages frantically with one surprise and twist after another. Five 💜💜💜💜💜 on this one! Do yourself a favor and add it to the top of your reading list!
Today I‘m going to catch of on some very, very overdue #Listylove letters and thank you notes including some little gifts I‘ll be making and sending out. Happy Sunday, y‘all!!!
1. Any caramel flavored coffee. On rough mornings, it‘s gotta be Death Wish coffee.
2. A little Rob Zombie, a little Flogging Molly.
3. Beware for I am fearless and therefore powerful.”
#thoughtfulthursday @MoonWitch94
My reading buddy, Fred, is totally digging Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo. His only complaint is that I‘m not turning the pages fast enough for him.
