This year we are doing team lead favourites rather than buddy reads for #HauntedShelf
You get an additional 15pts if you read a favourite from any team lead. If it's a series, you can read any book in the series
This year we are doing team lead favourites rather than buddy reads for #HauntedShelf
You get an additional 15pts if you read a favourite from any team lead. If it's a series, you can read any book in the series
It's less than 2 weeks until the start of #HauntedShelf
This is a resource post for everything you need to know before the challenge starts and what to expect when October comes
Everything will be in the comments
I am going to finish this damn book this year! I'm going to try doing it with #DraculaDaily as that's short pieces
I've got all the emails from the last 3 years so I'm good to go!
@Laughterhp you've found yourself in a desolate cabin far from civilization. It's creepy, it feels like you are being watched and there are ominous sounds
Luckily you find a cosy library with several books you fancy reading. You may be #TrappedinaSpookyHouse but it gives you time to read
The #TrappedinaSpookyHouse matches are below! You have until September 30th to post your picks and tag the recipient
I will be posting the matches like this;
1. @PuddleJumper – (5) Dabbe – Goodreads Link
This means that PuddleJumper is picking 5 books for Dabbe from the linked list.
You can post your picks as a comment, a new post, create a graphic or write them down, whatever works for you! Let me know of any mistakes
Hello and welcome to team #RestlessSpirits for #HauntedShelf
I'll be your team lead. I'll be here to answer questions, post information, and be your cheerleader
I would suggest following me (you can unfollow me after!), I'll tag everyone but sometimes it can get lost
I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone reads and I hope everyone has fun!
People will be added as they are sorted
I'll be doing the first round of sorting for #HauntedShelf today
You'll be tagged by your team lead in the next few days. Be patient as everyone is in different time zones
You can still sign up here: https://forms.gle/wmcY27wyx6awp3EfA
If I've missed anyone off the tagging list, let me know! I'm very excited and hope everyone has a great time!
This is my physically owned TBR for #HauntedShelf I've got loads more ebooks and library books 😅
There were so many good books suggested! Thank you everyone!
Time to vote for #QueerBC October buddy read: https://forms.gle/kjhsDabrziQDc4wV9
It will be point based so pick in order of preference
Everyone can vote and join in, you don't need to be part of the book club
#QueerBC author for October is Jordan L. Hawk!
He has some spectacular spooky and paranormal books to fit the October vibe. I really enjoyed the Spirits series which is steampunk hauntings … it‘s good, trust me
Comment with recommendations or share what you will be reading. I‘ll be reading The Forgotten Dead
September‘s author is Georgia Clark, what have people been reading?
#CasttheDie is coming in October!
Make a list of 13 books and select one as your lucky book
I'll roll a d4 and d10 then add the numbers together. 0 on the d10 can count as 0 or 10
I'll roll the numbers at the end of September
Rules below, comment to be tagged
Went to an amazing book shop today. I wanted to clamber up the ladders like a deranged spider monkey.
Didn't end up buying any books from there. Bought several from an indie publisher that focuses on women authors
It feels so dramatic to be making this post 🤣 but I want things to be easy to find
I'll be offline most of my holiday so won't be able to post reminders. I'll answer questions and comments when I can
1/4 #HauntedShelf sign ups/Let's Go! Points will close 30th September - https://litsy.com/p/NlNxRXBya0dn

#2025Stats August
My Mum wanted to sort out the book room which has a few of my books in it. Ended up donating all of the Dresden Files books (I'm not happy with the way the series is going and I won't re-read), Louise Penny books (enjoyed them when I read them, won't read the rest of the series) and some Latin books
It's mostly been library books and arcs this month
This is valid from Monday but I'm traveling Monday so here it is!
#HauntedShelf Let's Go! Points. You can earn some points before the challenges start in October by posting your TBR, recommending a book and posting the sign up link;
https://forms.gle/wmcY27wyx6awp3EfA
I'm excited to see everyone's tbrs … I'll probably steal a few for my own
This sits somewhere between serious historical fiction and cosy murder mystery. It's on the gentle side in terms of historical accuracy and social commentary.
I had fun with this. I thought the premise was fairly unique, the characters interesting, and the dynamic interesting.
From what I've seen, the next in the series will be more focused on romance which doesn't interest me.
Thanks to #NetGalley for the #ARC
#HauntedShelf is back for another year!
This October reading challenge will let you earn points for books read, hours spent reading, and readathons participated in
As I'm away you won't be sorted into teams until mid-September
You can involve yourself as much or as little as you like. Just make sure to cheer each other on and share that reading love

I‘m looking for some team leaders to help with #HauntedShelf
I‘m going away soon and limiting screentime which is why this is going up early.
All the graphics and information is provided, you just need to post on certain days.
If this is something you‘d like to get involved in then please join the Discord group and include your Litsy username so I know who everyone is.

Signups will be going up next
It‘s getting to the tricky bit of #GottaCatchemAll I think this is the leanest month so far!
Are you stuck on any prompts?
I could definitely do with some recommendations for books set in Scotland, preferably queer and/or magical!
For #SummersEnd readathon I would like to finish Shadow at the Morgue which is an old ARC, get a decent way into The Sword of Summer and maybe start Peerless 2, I'm kinda in the mood for assholes in love
@Bookwormjillk
The first character for #HoloNet is Jocasta Nu! She is a Jedi librarian and/or archivist because apparently no one knows there is a difference
You can read any genre of book, you don‘t have to read Star Wars books. There‘s no time limit on this, feel free to drop it and get involved as much as you like
Prompts are up to interpretation
#RealmofElderlings will be reading The Mad Ship during September and October. This is the second in the Liveship Traders trilogy
I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and I'm excited to get stuck into the second
How is everyone doing? It's a big change from the Farseer trilogy.
I'm not hopeful for September. I was recently assessed as being AuDHD. It's a bit overwhelming and my focus is all over the place.
I'm also going away in September and I imagine that's going to be a lot of zoo visits and Mario Party in the evenings
#BookSpinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
#RiordanverseReadalong is leaving the Kane siblings behind and moving on to Magnus Chase!
We'll be reading the Sword of Summer in September. I'm very excited, I've heard good things about this series
There are buddy reads on SG for anyone that wants to join
I'll do a final post for the Kane Chronicles beginning of September with the book rankings
I‘m going away in September which is why things may be going up a bit early. I‘m trying to stagger things a bit, though I think I‘ve ended everything when I get home!
October author pick for #QueerBC - https://forms.gle/YNC75YKWQtCQFuNh7
September‘s author is Georgia Clark, I‘ve seen a few recommendations already!
Don‘t forget to suggest some spooky or autumnal reads for the October buddy read - https://www.litsy.com/web/post/2891983
It is getting darker and so did my dice for September #Roll100
Roll 1 = 23
Roll 2 = 95
Roll 3 = 77
Share what you are reading and tag me @PuddleJumper
A party at an abandoned and probably haunted house has gone terribly wrong. Now you are on the run from a masked killer or a murderous spectre, you aren‘t sure what! You aren‘t cut out for this! After running, hiding and screaming, you find yourself in a well stocked library. You are #TrappedinaSpookyHouse
Make a list of books and someone else will pick what you read. You will also pick what someone else reads

This is one of the best descriptions of executive dysfunction I've come across. Many just reference the actions or inaction causes rather than the feeling because it's not just that I struggle to do stuff, I struggle to focus, to think, it's exhausting.
I think this is going to be a running theme in this series
The library copy of this is falling apart!
This was brutal and very enjoyable. I would recommend people get a few volumes to read at a time, I'm a bit bereft that I've got to wait to get the next one
It's litrpg, dungeon crawler, magic. If you like that kind of thing, you'll enjoy this
It's a heat wave and it's weird but it is time to suggest books for #QueerBC October buddy read
Suggest 5 books below that fit that theme and either feature LGBTQIA+ characters or were written by a queer author.
Last year‘s pick was Someone You Can Build a Nest In by John Wiswell so please don‘t suggest that again
Suggestions will close September 15th
Voting will end September 21st
Suggest books here: https://forms.gle/yS7Xri15t3cB9PKf6
#QueerBC September author is Georgia Clark!
I‘ve not read this author; I did see a lot of people reading Most Wonderful last year during the holidays
If you‘ve read this author drop a recommendation or let us know what you will be reading
August‘s author is Alice Oseman. I‘ve seen a lot of Heartstopper being read!
I wanted some brain rot and this managed to be too juvenile and too smutty
There's no plot, there's too many fart jokes, and the characters couldn't be in the same room without humping each other
I am so conflicted about this book. The romance between the two main characters is really well done and exceptionally sweet.
The rest of the book … less so. The fantasy world makes no sense.
The premise is that the ruler has to be fragile and beautiful to prove they are divinely favoured. Fierre does this by starving himself which is encouraged by his doctor.
⬇️
This wasn't for me. I loved the sound of a cosy queer cottagecore fantasy but struggled to stay interested.
Nothing clicked. I didn't really like the characters, I wasn't interested in the world or plot and I kept having to force myself to carry on reading.
There's also some controversy surrounding this book and the author's response to criticism.
Thanks to #NetGalley for the #ARC
The book follows Josh, a 15 year old boy that fakes his own death to disappear into the Laurentian Mountains.
This was a gentle and slow read. The survivalist descriptions were fascinating and description of the landscape really added to the story.
Overall an interesting and educational read.
Thanks to #Netgalley for the #ARC
The Tiny Bookshop game was released a few days ago. Cosy game where you own a mobile bookshop.
I played and enjoyed the demo ages ago
Currently 99p on Kobo. I've seen this on a few people's TBR
#ukkobodeal #99ponkobo
This was an interesting exploration of toxic masculinity.
I might not be the right audience for this book. It's well written and the pacing is good. I needed more plot or something. I was often bored as I read.
I love the layout of the book, it made it very easy to read and kept me interested. Unfortunately, the content wasn't as impressive.
This is an introduction to ADHD and should be treated as such. There's a lot of useful information, it's a bit skewed towards ADHD is a super power which I don't like, and some of it is a bit patronising.
⬇️
Thoroughly enjoyed this. I ended up listening to the audiobook as I had a free Audible credit and wanted to sit outside.
July #2025Stats
It's bugging me that it's not straight, I'm going to have to move everything ... Not right now
I bought Now It All Makes Sense by Alex Patridge and Wicked Bargain by Gabe Cole Novoa
You can see where I stayed in bed to read over a 1000 pages of A/B/O mpreg fiction
#MonthlyWrapUp #PuddleJumperWrapUp
I'm still focusing on reading books I've already got or taken out from the library
#BookSpinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
I'm going to have to buy my own copy of this and put sticky notes in it. There's a lot of good stuff that I'll need to read several times to get it to sink in.
