Here's my #BookSpin list for May. I'm switching to books from my physical TBR thanks to the possibility of moving back to Texas sometime next year. I won't know until sometime in June this year, but I need to reduce the number of physical books I own regardless. @TheAromaOfBooks
pickI'm pretty sure this #DoubleSpin has been the best #BookSpin book I've read so far. It started a little rough, and I wasn't sure where the story was going, but after a couple of chapters, it started making sense. I've enjoyed everything I've read by McLean, so I'm not all that surprised.
I visited a small independent bookstore, found the tagged book, a new tea called “Wuthering Heights“, and a new bookmark. Then I stopped at the cafe next door and got a lavender latte and an oatmeal creme pie (which I ate before taking the photo). #Readathon
Since most of the books I read during the April 24-Hour #Readathon are children's books, I felt like my “Reading Rainbow“ shirt would be perfect today. No, the tagged book is not a children's book, but I'm listening to the audiobook while I get ready to go to the library.
I'm kicking off the #readathon with an audiobook I want to finish this weekend. My first caffeine of the day is Reading Nook tea from Plum Deluxe.

bailedI tried to get into my #DoubleSpin for this month but couldn't. I love Middle-Grade Fantasy, but this stretched my suspension of disbelief until it snapped. It reads more like the very tall tale of a kid trying to impress his friends.

On top of that, I went through my Kindle twice, my computer, and my Content on Amazon looking for my #DoubleSpin book and somehow I don't have it?! *sigh* today has been an interesting day, technology-wise. panMy final #SnowedIn book was a complete dud. I managed to finish it, but just barely, and only because it was very short (102 pages). It was poorly written and edited. Overall, this was a great reading challenge with 3 wonderfully Christmasy books that made the season a little brighter! #WinterGames #CandyCaneCrushers
pickI don't know if I will read this again like I reread A Christmas Carol every year, but this is an excellent Christmas book that I'm happy to have finally read. It might have sat on the shelf for another year had it not been for #SnowedIn and #FellowshipofTolkien #TolkienChristmas. #WinterGames The Boyfriend and I watched this for the first time since it's the #CandyCaneCrushers team movie. I've only ever seen the original cartoon. I'm not sure anything will be able to beat my childhood favorite, but this one is a close second. We'll definitely be watching it again next year!

so-soI thought the short stories in this book would have more to do with the main characters, but they were mostly about other random characters found throughout the previous books in the series. The Boyfriend and I decided to get into the festive spirit by reading each other Christmas books at bedtime and this was the first. It was a lot of fun to read this dark not-for-children picture book about what happens to horrible brothers who are mean to their sisters.
