Helen faces 2 life-changing events at once:sudden death of her father & lifelong dream of training a goshawk. Her emotional struggles were like my own after losing my father suddenly‘, making this book very special to me. Wished she had stuck with her story (not on to White‘s failure at falconry.)The rawness of grief and the strange ways we try to heal hit home. A perfect read for a nature lover and/or someone with unresolved losses. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have literally been searching for years to find a Mystery writer who can keep me baffled all the way until the end of the novel. . For me, this was a wonderful reading experience, filled with suspense, likable and intriguing characters, “especially Holmes and Watson” and many out loud WOWs from me. Highly recommended for those who resonate with this. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh My! This is the second great, wonderful book, that I‘m reading in a row (all because of Litsy, BTW) and I am becoming anxious about whether I can keep this up. What should I read next? What happened to mindfulness so I can enjoy what I am reading right now. Oh My!
(I know what the “House of Silk” is 😳

I need to read the new one.
I know I‘m being a broken record but I love doing this on several levels.
It‘s my kinda thing.
Haven‘t decided on my approach yet.

I am so thrilled about having gotten back in to my reading. It has always been the answer for me during difficult times. Plus, I love having found a mystery writer that I am enjoying. You are my people. So glad to be here.

Here‘s my list, playing for the first time now that I may have figured it out. Not sure if the number has been picked yet. #BookSpin

She resonates with my identity, speaking so much about who I am and who I come from…

I feel some kinda way about disliking this book that is so well-liked. I missed something. Not sure what it was. It was way up there on the New York Times Best Books of the Century (something like that). My Brilliant Friend was #1.

I wonder!! Thanks I ‘m enjoying this for a change of pace.

I‘m so excited to start something different away from Naples and Elena‘s life. Thanks for including me!

Finished this last book in the Quartet but it was a challenge. In a lot of ways, I could not make it all make sense, asking myself, What is the point? This book focused on Elena‘s life & not on the toxic relationship between her and Lila. Her life was horrid and she was the most confused and conflicted character I‘ve known. What‘s intriguing though is that it‘s probably the author‘s life story. The character has her posthumous name. Poor thing!

I loved these books!

The farthest I travelled from home was to Fiji. 7500 miles. 18 to 24 hour flight and it was well worth it. Paradise on Earth and the friendliest people! “Bula” #MajicMonday

It‘s not as morbid as it sounds. I am not sure that this is a typical Litsy read. But sometimes I have to get into my deep reading.

I picked this up to read again today after my day of work as a psychotherapist. My heart aches for those of you out there. It is so difficult to overcome the mother wound.

I falter. I try to live this and have unconsciously memorized quotes from it. Definitely one of my favorite books which I highly recommend for anyone. #favoritebooks

How Lenu feels is exactly how I feel reading this book. Ferrante‘s feat may be in creating a character who continually makes the worst choices and decisions a woman can make in managing her life and relationships.
I‘m over here saying: “Oh No! Don‘t do it! You really went ahead did that?” 😳

I‘ve mostly been coloring and it‘s almost midnight but tomorrow‘s another day.

I have a major project to do and I don‘t have the motivation to work on it today. I need more of THIS!

My favorite books capture aspects of human nature and relationships that we all understand and have experienced but have struggled to put into words. (Proust has done it the best for me). I am definitely enjoying this last book in the series so far. I expect things can go downhill though.

Well, I‘ve got to read the last book after reading the first three. I hope Ferrante redeems herself.

Umm…you know it had to be a song. This is the best I could do with the prompt. But truly this song has a history of producing much heat. I‘ll leave it at that.

This is the 3rd book in the Neapolitan Quartet, about the toxic relationship between Lila and Elena. I found it to be almost unbearable to read, having to engage with such flawed characters. I steadily grew in my dislike of them due to the regressions in their identities and morality. By the end, I was as so emotional that I cried. Positively this may show the author‘s ability to stir feelings if that was her point.

Betcha you‘re not surprised it‘s music! My Daddy loved music which played almost nonstop in my house when I was a child many, many years ago. This is one that I heard often. - “Autumn Leaves”

“Shall I ever write again one of those sentences that gives me intense pleasure?” (Among her next to last entries before her suicide)
So sad how she considered herself to be a poor writer. She considered writing to be her therapy. She felt she had to do it in order to live. This is a theme in her books especially “To the Lighthouse” which was autobiographical.

I guess you can say I am being innovative on these. This is the best I could come up with for today‘s prompt. I‘ll share the link again in case anyone wants to share with their children or grandchildren or enjoy it yourselves. It‘s one of my 14 months old grandson‘s favorites.

I think in lyrics all the time. When I saw the prompt for the day, this song came to mind for some unknown reason. It came out sometime in my late childhood, I think. It‘s a sweet song so I‘ll share it in case you might want to listen to it.

But every family has a ghost story. The dead sit at our tables long after they are gone.
(This pulled me in right away. I often wonder about this)

I was surprised by how much I disliked this book. I have to love at least one of the characters. They were not for me. I liked most of the other Anne Tyler books that I have read. I‘m not sure why I gave it a thumbs up. I probably will change that.

See why I like stream of consciousness? 😂

I have to finish this third book in the series and move on to the final one. But, if this was the first and last of dealing with them, I would be done.

It‘s not that I am a perfectionist, I‘m just determined to get them all done is all. Is this denial or rationalization or both.
