The latest Lighthouse Library Mystery was especially fun to read because of how plausible it actually seemed that the main character got dragged into ametuer detecting this time. #cozyinthesun @Librarybelle @ferskner

This week was a bit all over the place. I was more focused on social/physical activities & my more mental/emotional goals suffered for it.

In general I'm falling at cooking lately & I'm going to change the way I look at that goal. Going forward I'm going to try for at least 2 days/week eating no sugar & only fresh (no overly processed) food but give up the notion that I'm actually going to cook this food myself right now #bfc #BFCr2 #bookdragons

Bookwormjillk Seems reasonable. Have a great week! 2d
Hestapleton Way to adapt those goals! You focused on the crux of the goal (cutting back on processed stuff) while changing the way you get there to something more achievable and that‘s a FANTASTIC way to adapt and still see the results you want! So proud of you! 2d
IndoorDame @Hestapleton thank you! 2d

This was well worth the month + wait on Libby even though I devoured it in its entirety just hours after it came in. At first I was skeptical, finding Ivy's struggles with her sexuality were framed in a way that felt somewhat dated to me, but the book became about more than that. You actually got to see 3 tween girls struggling with themselves and questioning what it means to grow up a little in ways that ultimately felt very authentic and useful.

What a great story! This took some risks I didn't anticipate, and had some real hints of darkness which I appreciate in middle grade adventure stories.

I'm stopping both of these at the halfway point. Front Desk I really like but my digitally library loan expired and it disappeared, hopefully I can finish it later in the summer. Sadie, for all the amazing things I've heard, isn't quite what I was expecting. My favorite part is honestly the cover art. This is just going to a dark place I can't handle right now, and I'm not interested enough in the mystery or the writing to get me to keep reading.

Megabooks Definitely love the cover of Sadie!! 5d
LazyDays Yeah Sadie felt like a horrible heavy punch to my stomach. 5d
TheLudicReader I loved Sadie, but can understand why it would make some readers uncomfortable. Courtney Summers never pulls any punches which is why I love her so much. 5d

Thank you to all of group K for a great #lmpbc round 5! I'm so excited to read through this with everyone's comments in it! 😊 And I LOVE the extra books you picked out, Michelle @MaleficentBookDragon and the ADORABLE little teacup candle!!

MaleficentBookDragon Yours was my favorite pick this round. I'm definitely continuing on with the series. 6d
IndoorDame @MaleficentBookDragon I loved this and am I'm definitely continuing the series too! I'm super excited there are more (though I haven't liked the other covers I've seen as much, so that may be an incentive to get them on Kindle or from the library) 6d

This week was hard for me. I wasn't feeling well physically, which didn't leave me in the best frame of mind, and I didn't meet any goals, though I did make progress on them. Reflecting back, I think my tendency when I feel like this is to retreat into myself and I need to think about how I can reach out to my team and the other resources in my personal life for help, and set mini-goals on weeks like this in the future. #bfc #BFCr2 #bookdragons

Megabooks Hugs! 💜 I hope you have a better week next week. 1w

I love borrowing books my literary friends have just finished - I get great jems I wouldn't have chosen for myself. This alternate history of the space program is eerily topical though it's set in the 50s. Through the fictional plot Kowal explores discrimination against women & black americans, and the climate crisis. It's also well written and a fun read. I'm interested in seeing where the sequel goes.

#BFCR2 Week 2 Check-in

I rocked my reading goal this week! I read 3 fun novels bringing my total to 7/6 books, so I'm going to up this goal to 15

I stayed steady with my daily meditation -6/7- and my self care -1/1- but lost a little motivation on my movement goals -3/4-and completely lost track of my healthy cooking goal -0/2

Hoping to make even more progress going into next week! #bfc #bookdragons @wanderinglynn @Hestapleton

I've been wanting to read an Agatha Raisin mystery for a while no. Number 28 was the only one available to borrow now on Libby, but it was a lot of fun so I'm definitely going to make a point of going back to the beginning and searching for the early books. #cozyinthesun @Librarybelle @ferskner

Librarybelle Great choice! 2w
rretzler Go back and start at the beginning if you can. The mysteries and the plots are much, much better at the start of the series than they have been for the past several years. Beaton is over 80 and unfortunately it shows. If you enjoyed this one, I think you would really enjoy the rest. Her Hamish Macbeth series is good too but the recent books also suffer (and in some cases don‘t actually make sense sometimes.) 2w

I finished my first book of #24B4Monday at 11:36:35:09. The audio version of this was a lot of fun. The story was something slightly out of the ordinary for me, but I do tend to enjoy magical realism when I pick it up. Parts of the plot seemed a bit contrived, but overall I thought it worked, I'm in love with the cover art, and I really like that this left a few questions unanswered. #booked2019 #nightorientedtitle
