The Turn of the Key | Ruth Ware

Ehh, I may be giving up on this one. My book club picked it. I gave it about 50 pages, but if we‘re being honest, I‘m kind of over the unreliable narrator who‘s been accused of a crime that we don‘t know if she committed or not because we only get her account of the story. I have so many other books waiting for me. #movingon 🤷‍♀️

KT1432 I hate the unreliable narrator trope. I really liked this one but I think the audio version really enhanced it. Not sure it would have hit the same in print. 🤔 5y

Soubhiville @Cinfhen I tried! I think I watched 3-4 episodes before I was too creeped out to continue. And I didn‘t feel it gave quite the same impression of Joe as the book. I haven‘t read any of her other books yet. Worth it? 5y

It had a lot of potential and a good build up but it fizzled out quick. It was creepy but low level creepy for me. I'm more comfortable with dismemberment than dirty sex talk so I was just squirmy a lot of the time! 😂 5y

Alright, I'm giving up at 1/3 of the way in. I like YA, but not YA that toes the line of being silly. There were some bright spots in this book (chapters narrated by Grant and the idea of a store selling contents of left behind suitcases) but most of it (especially chapters narrated by Doris) was too juvenile for my taste. I like my YA to not realize it's YA. ✌🏼#movingon

Moving On: A Novel | Larry McMurtry

I'm moving to Houston, TX, next month! I read McMurtry's Terms of Endearment and The Evening Star when I was just out of high school. This time, I'm starting with the first of the Houston novels. This came today, the day my husband headed for Houston to start his new job. I'll be following with our son after school is out. It's an exciting time. #movingon ❤
