This book was a lot of fun and my first book complete for #AuldLangSpine I think it‘s a good fit for people like me who often feel intimidated by the fantasy genre. This story was just so easy to get into. I didn‘t love that it ends on a cliffhanger but I feel like I am invested and will be continuing the series for #SerieLove2025 also I need more Kingsley 🤭🐸👑 #LitsyAtoZ #LetterA

Throwback to this morning, when I read my book while Casey styled his hair into a crest by rubbing his head against my duvet.

I wanted to finish DON‘T WANT YOU LIKE A BEST FRIEND today but, while it‘s good, I haven‘t found it as moreish as I hoped it would be. We‘ll see what happens later this afternoon. #AuldLangSpine

So.. this book had been on my TBR since last year‘s #AuldLangSpine but as I am writing this I now realize the book on last year‘s list was actually the same title but a different author 😅

But it worked out and was a pick for me. I think fans of Emily Austin will enjoy it. Lots of dark humor and existential themes. Kind of Six Feet Under meets Dear Evan Hansen in terms of the pickle the main character puts himself in. ⬇️

#auldlangspine Book 6 This is my favorite book so far from @Zuhkeeyah ‘s excellent list! I was immediately drawn in by Margo‘s voice & stayed up much too late reading it the last two nights. I loved Margo‘s grit. Her way of making mistakes, then finding a way to keep going & learn from them. I also found the author‘s use of switching between 3rd & 1st person to be masterfully done. It added so much to Margo‘s character. All the stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“A Well-Trained Wife” is Tia Levings‘ memoir about narrowly surviving abuse at the hands of her husband and under the leadership of the fundamentalist church. For nearly 15 years, she hides her longing to “awaken as ONE Tia, a woman with a name.” With this book, she‘s made a name for herself, which is no small thing.

While timely and illuminating, the narrative is relentless. 👇🏻

A delightful graphic novel where Lady Camembert disguises herself as a man to avoid marrying one, then falls in love with Princess Brie. I loved all the cheese names! It really fleshed out the world in a very humorous way that had me chuckling each time a new one was named. Loved Brie‘s friends along with Feta, Cam‘s servant. The conversations about women‘s rights were well done & didn‘t take away from the overall coziness.

An emotional roller-coaster highlighting the struggles of clinical depression through poetry. Whimsy sees her world through a magical lens of fairy tales. Her story mirrors that of the original Grimm tales where the world was full of danger and small glimmers of hope.
 @MeganAnn I finished this book a couple of weeks ago, but I found myself immediately diving back in. McBride incorporates so much into her poems and I wanted to catch it all.

Hard pick, but I'm not surprised, T. Kingfisher is a great author. The second book in the Easton saga (if we can call it that) and, even though this one is slightly different, it has all the creepiness, wit and pleasant story-telling of the first book.
