Book #2 in the Vera Stanhope series. I‘m not sure I like this series, or perhaps the author, but my mom does so I keep reading them. I‘ll try book #3 too… Vera is a quite unlikable woman & the stories wander a lot, but they do provide a good mystery & it‘s hard to figure out ‘whodunit‘ until the end when Vera Tues it up.
Anyone else excited for The Met Gala? I love this first Monday of May but this year's focus on Black Dandyism is especially historically interesting and important.
Monica Miller is the creative director of the Met's exhibit (the gala is the party for the fundraising and opening of the exhibit). Tagged is her book about the history of Black Dandyism which is a fantastic resource.
I am super excited to see Colman Domingo and Rhianna 😍
My May #ThematicCozies picks for #Flowers/Plants are two from series I already read or have started. The tagged book is #8 in the Potting Shed series & Fatal Flowers is #3 in the Flower House Mysteries. 🌹🪴💐
A little late but here are my #Roll100 picks for May. I decided to go with all 6 numbers as 2 of them are for other challenges. Wish me luck!

While everyone is posting their May tbr, I‘m still posting books read in January 😳🙄🤷🏽♀️☺️
January 2025 Book #8
I enjoyed this book inspired in real facts and real people. It motivated me to read about what happened in that period of time before WWII and about these characters. I couldn‘t put it down because I like novels inspired in this period of time. 3.8/4 ⭐️
For a few years I made a concerted effort to watch as many of the nominees as possible, but even with that I only managed 30/116; some were pretty memorable though.
1. Philomena 😭
2. Lion😭
3. Get Out 😱
4. Barbie 🩷🩷
