This is a low pick for me. I much prefer The Thursday Murder Club series and those wonderful characters. This was just forgettable to me but I will probably read book two. Maybe it will provide a stronger connection to the characters.

While I enjoyed this book, it was not as good as the first book. I didn't like the characters and the plot as much. Very steamy like book one and dark so read the trigger warnings. 3.5⭐️ #SeriesLove2025 @Andrew65

Several people recommended this to me. It was a fun cozy mystery. Tea shop, murder, family (deprioritized and found) and a quirky cast of characters.
I have book 2 on hold. 🤓

#serieslove2025 I‘m finally getting to read this series- I am late to the party. This was a good mystery/ Gothic romance about a girl trying to solve the mystery of her aunt‘s death while saving her cousins. Very Emily Dickinson- a girl and death. I loved the setting - high society, lots of ballrooms and rules! Curious to see how the story continues in book 2! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mshookquilts It was fun; the next one is in my tbr stack. 3d

These books are never what I expect, but it always blows my mind.
A very satisfying end to a very heart-rending journey.

Hob weaves true magic with her writing. Her poetic, imaginative prose takes you places you've never dreamt of; contiplating situation you'll never face, but truly do though her stories

👇🏼 continued 👇🏼

Enchanted_Bibliophile Going into a darker, more introspective character study with this book makes it much slower than the previous two (which were already slow) so perseverance is the name of the game. Don't try to rush, stick with it I promise you'll be glad you did. Even if it test your tolerance for grimness beyond what you think you can handle. 3d
Enchanted_Bibliophile The complexity of the character bonds is what really pulled it off for me. Nighteyes, Fool I'm looking at you.
The prolonged revenge quest got a bit much for me, but the character development I got out of it was so worth it. Understanding where Fitz came from - his physical and psychological suffering - made me understand his need for revenge.
3d
Enchanted_Bibliophile How he revenged himself in the end, O Man!
It shows just how much he's learnt and grown and it was just spectacular.

I'm gonna miss these characters, they've become a part of my heart.

Another cute hockey romance. Enough tension in the plot to keep my interest all served with a side of steam. Great main characters and banter added to my enjoyment. 4⭐️

Delightful! 5 years after the events of the 1st book, Patrick takes his niece and nephew, Maisie and Grant, on a trip abroad. The final destination is Italy, where their father is getting remarried, but the kids want Patrick to stop the wedding. On the trip, Patrick tries to teach the kids about love, much like he taught them about grief in the 1st book, in the hopes that they will accept this new life change.

The first in the Sean Duffy series (#SeriesLove2025). Duffy is a Catholic detective in Protestant N. Ireland during The Troubles. This was a great start to the series and Duffy is a complex character. I look forward to more in the series. Gerald Doyle was a fabulous narrator of the audiobook.

My first finish for #14Books14Weeks2025
