This F, written by Aaron Reynolds and illustrated by Peter Brown, is a great book for elementary teachers to add to their classroom library for a RA around Halloween. The main character, Jaspar, realizes he has a problem when the creepy carrots start to follow him. This book was awarded the Caldecott Honor for the illustrators choice of spooky colors. #UCFLAE3414F19

JRone When reading this story around Halloween, UDL strategy 7.2, optimize relevance, value, and authenticity, is great for this book. Children can relate it to the spooky stories they hear around Halloween. An EL strategy would be, #15 reinforce key ideas you present again and again. This is good for this book because the idea of creepy carrots is constantly repeated throughout the book. 1w
JRone This lesson plan https://mrswillskindergarten.com/creepy-carrots-lesson-plans/ shows children the causes and effects of the book, retells the story, creates connections and predictions, and even lets them make their own creepy carrots. 1w
GroeningsC This books makes for a fun Halloween read aloud, great post! 1w
ccipriati I also think that this would be an amazing RA especially during Halloween! 1w

1️⃣5️⃣: FRIENDS #selfimprovementseptember My friends from college (not all pictured above) are my people, my soulmates. I feel blessed to have them & they have been by my side through everything for the last 15 years. And my Boyfriend—my partner in crime, my bestie friendie, my penguin. I just feel loved. 💗 #selfcareseptember #15

This one was a bit slow to get going for me and i was 50% in before the story pulled me in. I trusted Silva to get there. Then got a bit lost down the rabbit hole of the Cambridge spies! I liked how the plot wove all that together. A pick eventually.

Cinfhen I gave your current read a so-so!! His next few were all a little shaky (🙄) but his newest book was a SMASH!!! 👉🏽 1mo
Cinfhen How‘s that liver??? 1mo
DGRachel I still haven't caught up on this series. My next to read is #15 (The English Girl, I think). 😭 😭 Now @Cinfhen has me worried! 1mo

Cinfhen English Girl was still good @DGRachel but there was ( for me ) a lull following (edited) 1mo
TrishB @Cinfhen feeling much better today! Good sleep in my own bed. Took today off work too to recover! 1mo
TrishB @DGRachel there‘s only really been this one that wasn‘t top notch for me. 1mo
DGRachel @TrishB @Cinfhen Thanks for that! The Heist was my favorite to date and I think I've had a bit of a Silva hangover from that one and haven't picked up the The English Girl, yet. Of course, my TBR overfloweth and I keep getting distracted by other shiny new books. 😍 1mo
Cinfhen I can‘t remember the order of books but I did like this one ( which I think might be coming up) @TrishB @DGRachel 👉🏽 1mo
Cinfhen Glad you took today off!! Your body probably needed that 😂 1mo
DGRachel @Cinfhen Yes! It's actually The English Spy that I have next, not The English Girl, and Black Widow is the one after The English Spy. I've already read The English Girl, because that was the one that came before The Heist. You would think I'd have the order memorized since his books are on top of the bookcases next to my TV. 😆 1mo

The New Girl: A Novel | Daniel Silva

I‘m only on #15 (The English Spy) but I had to preorder the signed edition from B&N of the latest book in the series. I ❤️ Gabriel Allon. Daniel Silva writes some of the best spy thrillers, IMO.

Leftcoastzen I‘m only on the 5th one.Lovely collection!❤️ (edited) 3mo
DGRachel @Leftcoastzen I think The Heist is my favorite of the series so far, but they‘re all excellent and thank you! I hate that the first cover is so different from the rest and wish they hadn‘t changed the spine design for the last two, but 🤷🏻‍♀️ 3mo
GypsyKat Do these stand alone, or are they a series? 3mo
DGRachel @GypsyKat It‘s a series. I‘m sure you could read them out of order, but you would definitely lose some of the detail that makes the later books even more special. This is the first one: 3mo
GypsyKat @DGRachel Good to know, thank you! 3mo

Man-Eaters #9 | Chelsea Cain
post image

Can‘t forget it‘s Wednesday which means it‘s also #ncbd! Another light week. I only picked up the tagged comic as well as Deadpool #13. Skottie Young‘s Deadpool run ends with Issue #15 so just two more issues to wrap up whatever story he wants to tell. As for Man-Eaters, I love the cover and am excited to see where Cain is taking the story.
