This book is for anyone who wants to make a change in their life but doesn't know where to start, or doesn't think they have the motivation to meet their goals because after all, motivation is a shared quality in any type of fitness goal. This book is about getting started towards achieving your goals, from the very first thought, at the truest starting point. It is about adopting psychological preparation and a certain mindset, and Atkinson strategically guides the reader through that process. He emphasizes that, without the right mindset, no one will reach their potential. section 1 covers some real life stories and anecdotes. Section 2 covers the practical side of the theory.

Chrissyreadit Yes- hills are rough. I just walked my property today and the neighbors have torn up our hill trespassing with 4 wheelers. It made me want to cry. 4y

CocoReads @wanderinglynn it‘s the job—we‘re on our feet pretty much most of the 8 hours. Occasionally there‘s a light day and today wasn‘t too busy med wise but I put the iv order away, and our infusion clinic is actually across the street and I was over there a couple of times as well today. So I stayed busy. 5y

marleed I thought I was having fun on a treadmill- until I was distracted, forgot I was on it and fell. First day of BFCr1 and I‘m still dealing with a sprained shoulder! Ego almost recovered though - nothing graceful about a treadmill fall! 5y

marleed @guinsgirlreads Oh, I‘ll be fine. I decided this happened to me so I could convince my son to treadmill safer. His gym is much sexier than mine and he runs on a treadmill in the dark watching a movie. I‘m convincing him that in the dark no one would even see that safety thing snapped to his t shirt. He‘s a photographer/videographer and a shoulder injury is not an option! 5y

Happy day one!! I was able to complete two books so far today - of my 15 book goal.

Also completed my first 30 min weight exercise of the 4 I'm supposed to do this week.

For #BFC this round, my goal is to get back into a healthier eating style and to focus on my mental health by practicing more yoga and meditation (let's go with at least 3 days a week). Then for a little cardio, I want at least 100,000 steps per week. For reading, I would like to do at least 1 book a week.

wanderinglynn @LibrarianJen No, books do not have to be done while working out. Some workouts (e.g., swimming) wouldn‘t allow it. Some folks, like me, are focusing our BFC book goal on audiobooks because I walk & listen, so in theory, it makes me walk more. But it‘s just however many books you want to read in 6 weeks. 😀 5y

Sorry I‘m late with my #BFC update. I have completely lost track of my goals and am just trying to make it through the next few weeks. Hopefully things slow down soon . But I am still not giving up on myself . I now know I need to focus on new goals . I need to get back into yoga but I also can‘t beat myself up if I get too busy and miss a day. Always a balance. I‘m here cheering everyone on! You can do it! 🖤

I has been a soggy, warm and humid day. I finally sneaked in a walk with my dogs between the bands of rain showers. I am hoping top get another walk in after dinner. 🤞 Fingers crossed that the weather will cooperate.

Woot! I‘m joining @wanderinglynn for a book fitness challenge! I really need to increase my activity again, now that my surgeon has me all cleared for exercise. But 2 months of no working out = not much motivation.

Hopefully this will help! My goal is 3 books & 3 workouts per week. #audiowalking

Do you need motivation to get moving this Spring? I sure do!

Signed up for #BookFitnessChallenge - my goal is to run at least 3 times a week and by the end of the time to be able to run at least 2 miles without needing a walking break!

My book goal is to listen to 10 or 12 audiobooks. I of course don‘t remember what number I picked and I just signed up yesterday. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
