Thank you @dabbe for the #ThreeListThursday #TLT tag! 🤗 As usual I am late to the party but here goes: 52/100 is not bad considering I haven‘t read any Terry Pratchett (or Jacqueline Wilson for that matter).

Giving a bonus shout out to The Great Gatsby which I hated in high school but loved when I reread it in March. Personal Growth!🎉

My mom is so cute… it wasn‘t enough to just buy me the P&P vase, she filled it with beautiful flowers, too.

Reading a bunch of plays for a play reading committee. Several of them are aggressively mediocre. Some are truly awful. Kate Hamill‘s brilliant adaptation of Pride and Prejudice is the shining star of this pile. If you are a theater person, get ahold of any adaptation by Kate Hamill. They‘re fresh. They‘re inventive. They are a dream for a great director and a group of talented actors.

Yesterday some friends and I got together for lunch and a theater showing of the Keira Knightly Pride and Prejudice! This weekend is the 20th anniversary if you can believe it! We had a ball, I sometimes forget how incredible the cinematography is in this film, seeing it in theaters really shows you what an amazing job they did. And goodness everyone in this is gorgeous 😍

1️⃣ Swapped between print and audiobook read by the fabulous Rosamunde Pike. Umpteenth reread. When I first started tracking my reading with Goodreads, I estimated that I had read P & P every other year since I was 14. Using that low estimate plus actually keeping track since 2017, makes this my 20th time reading. ⬇️

The plan was to read two chapters a day, but then I came to the point where I know Lady Catherine de Bourgh will arrive and then there‘s my favourite scene, so I just had to read on

This Austen novel will always have a special place in my heart since it‘s the first one I read after watching the BBC series

I think this is the 1st time I‘ve been thinking that Charlotte didn‘t make so a bad choice after all. Because she could have married a Wickham

#PemberLittens I've been a bit offline for March because my Mr Darcy turned 60! How did that happen? His Birthday Wishes: to putter about in his workshop (which we've named The Putterage), weekend trip to Texas Pinball Festival, and Hummingbird Cake. He has a couple more days of Staycation. Currently he is happily changing the oil in lawn mower. He works a stressful job, mowing is his therapy. 🥳

No matter how many times I read this proposal it still has the same impact on me. 😬

Ch. 33/34: After running into Darcy repeatedly during walks at Rosings, Lizzy finally runs into Col. Fitzwilliam instead. He brags about Darcy having saved a friend (Bingley) from a marriage to some trash lady (Jane), and Elizabeth is rightfully incensed. Then Darcy barges in with one of the worst proposals ever written. Every time I read it, I marvel that he ever redeems himself because this proposal is St-John-from-Jane-Eyre levels of offensive.

Caught the last half of the Greer Garson P&P (at a weird angle from across the room), which I had never seen before. Was utterly distracted by the women's dresses. They were HUGE & not remotely appropriate to the time period. From what I saw of it, it seems more "based on the book" rather than a faithful representation- & Austen's claws had been sheathed- but it made me curious to watch again & try to catch the whole thing. #JaneAustenThenAndNow

#Pemberlittens its mid-month check in. How's it going? I was doing 2 Chapters a Day, got behind, caught up and then couldn't stop. I've been to Pemberley and will finish reading today.

Ch.27/28: Lizzy is in her traveling era, with a trip to Hunsford and an invitation from her aunt to visit Derbyshire and the Lakes once summer hits. At the Parsonage, Elizabeth can see how Charlotte manages to make the best of her less-than-perfect situation, e.g. encouraging Collins to be in the garden at all times and selecting a room at the back of the house (out of his way!) to be her personal parlor. Charlotte Collins, making it work!

It was so fun to revisit this with the #PemberLittens

I listened to the Whoa!mance Public Access Readalong of P&P over the last few years. One chapter at a time broken up over weeks. Morgan and Isabeau absolutely delight me but unfortunately I'll never be a true Austen fan. I know this is grave heresy.

Ch. 23/24: Sir William announces Charlotte's engagement to Collins and the Bennet women just about lose their minds. Lydia is a total dick about it and Lizzy has to tactfully interject some well-wishes, and Mrs. B is livid. Then Caroline writes that their party won't return to Netherfield, and btw, Miss Darcy is just SO amazing. Jane tries to be calm but Mr. Bennet turns the whole thing into a joke (see the Reddit user below who clocked his ass).

Ch. 15/16: The ladies meet up in town with Denny and his hot-as-hell friend, Wickham. Elizabeth clocks some weird vibes between him and Darcy when the latter rolls up, but doesn't get the scoop until the next night. Wickham pours out the whole sordid tale in some very pretty language, all deference and faux-humility. You've to give it to him, he does a clever job of getting ahead of what Elizabeth knows and spinning the story to his advantage.

The days run on and Elizabeth is still sequestered at Netherfield, and girl just can't wait to pack up Jane and get home. She does get to engage in some solid verbal sparring with Darcy, though, and he begins to realize just how hard he's falling for her. Caroline continues her whole "look at me, pay attention to meeee!" game with Darcy and it's pretty satisfying to watch how he shuts her down. Finally, at last, the Bennets make their way home.

Focus Features send an email with merch celebrating the 20th anniversary of the 1995 film of P&P. This one made me laugh & cringe at the same time! 😁

It‘s a beautiful paperback edition from my boxed set that I bought last weekend. There are SO many editions!!! I can‘t find this one on the list so I‘m just adding this photo.

Do I speak a lick of Spanish? No. Did I let that stop me from buying this beautiful Spanish edition when we were in Argentina? Also no. Maybe this is how I‘ll learn the language!!

1️⃣ I have a little Swedish date book from 1901 that has my dad‘s family birthdays, weddings, babies & deaths recorded in it.

2️⃣ I have to pick my favorite book which will always be relevant to me & I hope to future generations.

One of my favourite bits of last weekends Jane Austen Festival in Bath was the Regency fair! The opportunity to pick up ribbons and notions and bonnets and corsets!

I‘ve always enjoyed classics, but they tend to get a wee boring or confusing during the middle of the novels due to the long sentences and old writing style; however, this book never did that! Jane Austen wrote a masterpiece that captivated me the entire time. The plot was simple yet intriguing and the relationships between the characters were humorous and well-written. I love it!

My souvenir from the Library of Congress gift shop. This just seemed fitting for both me and the moment.

A comfort reread, never fails to make me smile

Absolute delight as always rereading Pride and Prejudice for the umpteenth time. I'm particularly happy that because I did Chapter A Day with a Facebook friend as well as #PemberLittens, I will have something Pride and Prejudice every day from June 1st to July 31st in my Facebook memories. 🎩
