Went to a new Barnes and Noble location near me and saw this book rest, which advertised none other than Pride and Prejudice! It was not inducement enough to purchase said book rest, but tickled me pink to see P&P 🥰
I thank you for my share of the favour," said Elizabeth; "but I do not particularly like your way of getting husbands." Chapter 51
Time for tea and a chapter. ???

I blame Walmart. Pushing my cart through store, there this beauty was, right on the endcap. #PemberLittens Walmart isn't the place where I shop for books usually. Occasionally I might pick up a copy of a Bestseller I've been meaning to read. ?
"Will you do me the honour of reading that letter?" Chapter 35
One of the extras included in Marjolein Bastin edition of Pride and Prejudice is Mr. Darcy's letter to Elizabeth.

'In this quiet way, the first fortnight of her visit soon passed away." Chapter 30
#Pemberlittens after a big gardening project and two Birthday celebrations, it was lovely to spend Sunday puttering in my Library and organizing my collection.? ??

#Pemberlittens probably know this. First-edition was printed as a set of three volumes.
So today's chapter number depends on whether edition you're reading follows the original: Volume 2 - Chapter 1 or if it goes sequential, its Chapter 24.
I'm going with Chapter 24 because it's easier for me to keep track. And today's quote: "Mr. Darcy was condemned as the worst of men."?
#JaneInJuneJulyandAlways
We watched this movie, as well as Mash in honor of Donald Sutherland. Since we have been stuck in the downstairs of our house which -yay!- has AC we have been watching lots of movies, documentaries, etc. Now I want to reread P & P but maybe that‘s for July/August. Too many books this month!!!
Both these editions have lovely illustrations- in the edition on the right they are in color;in the edition on the left they are in black and white.
"He was too happy, however, to need much attention; and luckily for the others, the business of love-making relieved them from a great deal of his company." Chapter 23

"The strangeness of Mr. Collins's making two offers of marriage within three days was nothing in comparison of his being now accepted." Chapter 22
Tonight's Edition of Pride and Prejudice is from Word Cloud Classics Box Set. Another Gift from one of the #PemberLittens. ?
#JaneInJuneJulyAndAlways
'I shall be glad to have the library to myself as soon as may be."- Chapter 20
#Pemberlittens Chapter 20 also has a classic line from the movie but it's a bit spoilery. (Although do we really need to call Spoilers on a book that's over 200 years old?)
Love the bonnet on Wordsworth Edition!

Chapter 16: "It gives me pain to speak ill of a Darcy." And then he does.

"Both changed colour, one looked white, the other red. Mr. Wickham, after a few moments, touched his hat—a salutation which Mr. Darcy just deigned to return. What could be the meaning of it? It was impossible to imagine; it was impossible not to long to know." - Chapter 15 ⬇️
"I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book!" - Chapter 11
#Pemberlittens such a great quote and it's said by Caroline Bingley, who doesn't read. ?
Today's is a Signet Classic. Such a fun cover.

"Bingley was sure of being liked wherever he appeared, Darcy was continually giving offense." - Chapter 4.?

"She is tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt me;"
I'm tired of Litsy not having my editions of Pride and Prejudice in the database so I'm going to start adding them. Like this Cranford Collection edition my friend Claire gifted me.

I got this candle with the new Rifle Paper Co edition of Pride and Prejudice from #authenticbooks and it is my favorite smell ever. I want to smell it in my dreams. I love Rifle Paper Co but this candle! New favorite thing.
1. Pride & Prejudice (2005) - I didn‘t like the book but this movie was really good. I enjoyed it.
2. Holes (2003) - I liked the book when we read it in my 7th grade English class and I enjoyed the movie. I‘ve watched the movie many times.
3. Les Miserables (2012) - I read the book and I enjoyed it but I enjoyed the movie more because it had music.

My mind went blank trying to think of a book set in Spring. According to Google, P&P takes place during the spring and it's one of my favorite classics.

Elizabeth and Darcy. They both are complex and flawed individuals.
And the biggest thing is that they change themselves. And not for another person, but for themselves. And when the time is right, and they meet up again? When they are ready to be equal partners in a relationship? That‘s everything. ❤️
#SundayFunday Have a wonderful week, and remember to tag me!
I want to love this book like so many people do, but I just can‘t see what it is that everyone likes about it so much. This is my second time reading this one and I just am not a fan of the characters and it‘s so slow. I do love classics, but this one is just tough to get into, in my opinion. I‘m glad I gave it another shot because I do think I noticed some things that I didn‘t before, but it still isn‘t a favorite for me.
On this day in 1813 (January 28), Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice was first published in the United Kingdom. #myfav ❤️
I tried to read/listen to this in 2022 when I was trying to read classics & it did not go well in general with me & classics.
Revisited this for #authoramonth & I thought it was good, very witty. Not really for me but I can see why people like it.
He ardently loves her! Have I read far enough where I can rewatch the BBC version yet? 😁
#AuthorAMonth
Another #AuthoraMonth finished. I think I enjoyed it more than Sense and Sensibility, but maybe it‘s just because I knew more about Pride and Prejudice going in. And yes, I wished to smack the men with a book in this one as well.

Part of Hallmark Channel‘s month of Jane Austen inspired movies, airing in February 2024, under the Lovuary title, there‘s going to be a book discussion of Austen‘s works starting this month in January!!! 📚

My first tentative TBR for 2024! I like to start the year at zero current reads, so I won‘t be cracking these open before Monday.
