Hmm, this photo cropped weirdly but is from the Spark Notes account on Twitter (but I read it in an article via Facebook)
"A fine, exclusive edition of one of literature's most beloved stories. Featuring a laser-cut jacket on a textured book with foil stamping, all titles in this series will be first editions. Only 10,000 copies will ever be printed, and each will be individually numbered from 1 to 10,000."
The ‘Seasons Edition-Winter‘, Harper Collins/Thomas Nelson Fiction. ?
Thank you very much @kaysworld1 for gifting me this book. I haven‘t read any of Austen‘s novels so this should give me the incentive to finally read one. It‘s much appreciated 😘
And thank you @squirrelbrain for the lovely card. The Strand is top of my list of places to visit in NY 😍 fingers crossed the weather is nice enough for yous to go camping! I had to show the little squirrel stamp, I love it 🐿 #jbuk
Not quite book related, but...
I have a Color Street nail strip bar open. If you click this link, https://www.colorstreet.com/31333/party/798828 it will take you to the store. All purchases go towards my hostess rewards.
Have wonderfully “painted” nails in minutes: no dry time and you can get back to reading right away! 📚
Thanks in advance!
QUESTION Austin fans: can someone recommend an edition with a grad course worthy Introduction or analysis? It‘s going to be one of the reading selections in my next HUMA course.
I hope I like it better the 2nd time around. I was in my early 20s when I first read it and didn‘t care for the MC. 😳 Hoping age will help me appreciate her more.
Austen is a slow burn for me, but I'm glad I persisted. She cloaks a lot of subversive social commentary (even by today's standards) in the mores of her time: wealth and power corrupt, the family unit is symbolically powerful but ultimately ineffectual, and marriage is about community, not romance. There's very little in her books about romantic love, really. Full review here: http://keepingupwiththepenguins.com/pride-and-prejudice-jane-austen/
While heeding the siren call of two authors raving about a book and going to the bookstore to get it, I was able to exert enough willpower to resist getting these Penguin Classics Deluxe Editions. It was hard...and I may have only delayed the inevitable...but I left them on the shelves. That being said, these are gorgeous covers!
I am thrilled with my kindle cover from KleverCase. Now my ebooks can be gorgeous too 😏❤️❤️
I suspect I was spoiled in the #HighFiveToSummerSwap 😍😍😍
Thank you SO MUCH, Judy! I‘m overwhelmed by all of the Austen goodness, I‘m eating candy for dinner, and having a blue bath with pink candles later. You are awesome! This bookmark! Omg ❤️
And thank you, Jody, for putting this great swap together. 🤗
In all my years of singing #Tubthumping loudly & off-key whenever it played on the radio, I never looked up the definition. After learning it means “expressing opinions in a loud and violent or dramatic manner” I just couldn‘t help thinking of Lady Catherine de Bourgh who had not only her share but many others‘ share in the conversation. She definitely did plenty of tubthumping! 😆
Has anyone else pre-ordered the beautiful ‘Season Editions - Winter‘ books from Thomas Nelson? In addition to the tagged book, the Winter series is comprised of Wuthering Heights (also pre-ordered), A Tale of Two Cities, and Little Women (the latter two I recommend my husband to pre-order for me and give as Christmas presents 😂). Each book will be a numbered edition, and only 10,000 will be printed.
It took Lizzie and Darcy quite a long time to decide #IsThisLove. Lizzie is definitely one of my favourite heroines, sparky, witty, strong-willed, definitely full of #ZealousZest!

I try to always keep a hard copy of a book on my school bus for downtime spent waiting. Pride and Prejudice is a title I‘d put off reading for ages but it isn‘t at all what I expected, it‘s witty and fun. Now I have to resist the urge to download a copy onto my Kindle to read it more quickly.
How did I not finish Pride and Prejudice before now?! I love this story and was continually reminded of the romance between Benedick and Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing (which I adore) as I read. Please sign me up for all the retellings! 🥰😍❤️
And now I want to read more Austen. I‘m converted!
Most of my #PnPCovers books are second hand, found at used book stores and rummage sales. Each one is special.
My happy hour is the hours I get to read!
It's a truth universally acknowledged that there are a lot of new Pride and Prejudice variations in the book world right now. Pride and Prejudice with settings far from Jane Austen's England.
Now I feel the need to read the original. 🤓

Mr. Collins invites himself to Longbourn as prospective inheritor of Mr Bennet‘s estate. He plans to make a marriage offer to one of the Bennet girls. He proposes to Elizabeth (after knowing Jane is not available) and, when rejected, proposes to Elizabeth‘s friend, Charlotte a few days later.

This is my third reading of P&P and I‘ve seen the BBC presentation (staring Colin Firth 💝) at least 6 times. You might say that this is one of my favorite books and you would be 100% correct.
I mean, I'd marry me. 😂
