This book made me sad and angry but it was so well written. I hope we aren‘t headed back to this lifestyle where women have no autonomy. Yikes.

Lulu is a house wife living for everyone else. She wants to be the perfect wife, and has stayed in character until new neighbors move across the street from her. They seem like they‘re hiding something, and she‘s determined to find out what it is. I really liked most of the characters, although the story felt a little flat for me towards the end. I wanted to know more about lulu‘s relationships with brother and mother. Still enjoyed it. Fast read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
What a captivating and heartbreaking story of a 1950‘s housewife where so many things were misdiagnosed. And a twist I didn‘t see coming. I enjoyed this one.💚

I chose the tagged book for my October Aardvark selection, as I *really* wanted to choose a back catalog selection-Sangoyomi's “Masquerade“ (praised as one of the best recent historical fiction). I read around 75 pages of Churche;s novel before I bailed. Prior to each chapter, Church uses an epitaph from Plath's “Bell Jar.“ (CONT)

It‘s the 1950s, and we meet the happy, perfect wives who know how to entertain and take care of their family.
Everything isn‘t as perfect as it seems, though.
THE MAD WIFE is an unsettling read, but also an enlightening one with marvelous research done.
This book will be another favorite for fans of Meagan Church. 5/5

So hard to pick up a new book after finishing a beloved one! Let‘s hope this delivers! #TheMadWife#MeganChurch
The kind of tale that absorbs you and infuriates you all at once. The writing placed you there, firmly settled in her psyche, seeing things as she sees it and feelings as she feels it. All of it. And such a satisfying ending.
