I share a birthday with this book and I am finally rereading it to correspond with that birthday. I love the Edward Gorey illustrations that are at the beginning of each chapter and scattered throughout the text. Happy birthday to me. 🥳

I bought a walkman and then i found these at Goodwill!

My next longest owned book. I was a bit wary in starting this. But it was surprisingly well readable. A good story. Sometimes the language used was a bit cumbersome and I had to reread sentences here and there.
TBR since November 1st. 2009; 449 pages.

Excuse the old Halloween photo. I finally finished this on my kindle which has a boring cover. I liked that even though I had seen many movie versions, I still didn't always know what was going to happen. Was it a little verbose in spots? Yes. But overall I thought it was well done. It was a bit stress inducing at times, which for a horror book is actually a good thing. I'm glad I read it. It was a classic that didn't disappoint.

This was a good listen. A book that inspired fantasy and horror for generations. I hadn‘t read it in..15 or more years? And more happened than I remembered. I love Tim Curry, this version was very good but I still kind of felt like it went on forever.

Clearly the best Dracula cover out there! 😍

First time reading this since college, maybe. I used to consider it my favorite book. The suspense, while at times a little clunky for a modern reader, is genuine and pretty expertly maintained throughout. Lots of quality dramatic irony based on the epistolarian form.

No longer what I would call "the best" but still a solid 5-stars, I'd say.

"It is the fault of our science that it wants to explain all; and if it explains not, then it says there is nothing to explain."

"There are darknesses in life, and there are lights; you are one of the lights."

"We learn from failure, not from success."

"He tells me that he loves me more, but I doubt that, for at first he told me that he couldn't love me more than he did then."

Qué historia mas interesante y cómo te atrapa de principio a fin! Es súper fácil de leer y si tienes tiempo quizás la leas en un fin de semana! Admito que de no haber visto la película ningún pasaje me hubiera dado miedo, pero es que está tan bien narrada y es tan especifica que por lapsos recuerdas si o si a la peli. Un clásico que no debes dejar pasar, tanto si te gusta o no el terror.

🎧 📚 Written in 1897 by Irish author Bram Stoker. I‘m sure you know the story but can you imagine vampire lore without it? I LOVE THIS AUDIO-DRAMA!

This book introduced us to Count Dracula. So many ideas will show up in a plethora of books/movies to come.

I enjoyed this audiobook except for the narrator who does Mina — her voice is very shrill and hurts my ears. My husband was so funny listening to this; he kept saying, “Why would you do that? It‘s so stupid!” He‘d read the book, but the audio really brought their actions to life. Listened to Mary Jane on my walk. #audiowalk #audiodrive

Avoided cleaning the porch today by going to Bellingrath Gardens instead. We have an hour left of Dracula. #audiodriving. I didn‘t listen to my book on my walk around the gardens because the scenery was so beautiful. Those bottom two walks are really one walk. I accidentally hit Save Workout, so I had to start a new walk on my app.

Not much reading done yesterday. The husband took off from work so my reading plans got cancelled. I squeezed in thirty minutes before bed and finished a chapter of Dracula.

I like when the dates lineup 🗓and today, November 4 is my baby‘s 18th birthday 🎂 😊♥️ #TimeFlies 🕰⏰⏱🧭 Going out for a celebratory dinner 🍴 🍾

Oh man. If you're near Seattle, take the chance to go see Dracula at ACT Theater, it was a great experience. The stage and costume design were super effective and minimalist true to ACT's SOP, a diverse cast, and this adaptation (by Steven Dietz) pared down the cast to a core of ~seven, which excluded van Helsing (always a win), plus Mina got to really shine. Great overall. Ninety minutes, no intermission.

Listened to a couple of hours of the tagged book last night before I went to sleep, and just finished issue 57 of Misty #24b4monday #scarathlon #teamstoker

Day 6 Vampire: I mean when you hear vampire 🧛🏻‍♂️ your mind goes straight to Dracula :) but... these What We Do In Shadows vampires are particularly entertaining (I need to rewatch this movie ASAP) couldn‘t you imagine how annoyed Dracula would be with them!?
