When confronted with things such as rodents, bugs, or predators, then yes, face-to-face, I‘m scared of them! The ironic thing is that while I‘m not afraid of horror movies and books, I AM afraid of the settings where those horrors take place—the woods (I think I would lose my MIND if I had to spend the night alone in the woods), basements and attics, cornfields (NOTHING good EVER happens there!), and creepy cemeteries! 😱

I'm creeped out by a lot of things! The three I chose are random ones.
1. Caves. Or should I say caving disasters. Just look that up on YouTube, especially the Nutty Putty Cave Incident. You'll see why.
2. Bugs. Or should I saw UGLY bugs. I love butterflies! I once had to get special permission to have my pin-an-insect biology project changed to pin-a-leaf instead.
3. I can't STAND my bare feet on anything. Truly.

TheBookHippie I was with you until #3. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 21h
dabbe @TheBookHippie IKR? No idea why. I wear socks in the summer in Phoenix. PHOENIX!!! 😂👣😂 21h

DrSabrinaMoldenReads I guess I should not tell you why I was told not to go barefooted as a child and still don‘t. It involves something I‘m afraid of. 😩 19h

TRIGGER WARNING: Some of these are humorous; some aren't. Some are objects; some are deep feelings that only you know about. Share whatever you want or share nothing at all. List fears not on the list or ones you thought were silly ... the possibilities are endless. We all have fears ... what are yours?

ALL are welcome to play. 🧡🎃🖤

Cuilin I‘m too easily triggered lately, probably should skip this. 🤔 2d
Texreader 7% but that may be too high. My only real paralyzing fear is heights. 2d
ImperfectCJ My big fears are pretty specific: Steep drop-offs with no railing on the left side of a trail, being stopped by the police and arrested for a DUI when I haven't been drinking at all (a fear of Kafka-esque authority), being told by an usher at the symphony or a play that I'm too loud or in the wrong seat, not being able to get to my spouse and kids during an earthquake/wildfire/other disaster or emergency, an airplane row with no window. 2d

DrSabrinaMoldenReads I got 17%. Thanks for this. I thought it was very interesting. It‘s something I know but do not think about. I was surprised some of my fears were even on the list-like highways and falling downstairs (These are new since I‘ve gotten older). Actually the list included most of my major fears. (edited) 2d
eeclayton I scored 19, which is higher than my Halloween candy score from last week 😁 2d
dabbe @Cuilin I hear ya and completely understand. 🧡💜💛 1d
dabbe @Texreader W🧡W. You're way better than me; I'm afraid of practically everything! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 1d
dabbe @ImperfectCJ These are such genuine and specific fears. Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 1d
dabbe @DrSabrinaMoldenReads Thanks. It's good to know we share many as a species, I think. And I know my fears have changed since being retired (like I'm no longer afraid of being successful; I truly don't care anymore). It's good to know that these can change over time. Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 1d
dabbe @eeclayton I have a feeling I'll be higher, too! 😂 Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 1d
dabbe @melissajayne I think I'm going to be right around there with ya! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 1d
DrSabrinaMoldenReads Yes @Texreader ! You are fearless. I have always been a “scaredy cat” is what they called me. 23h
Texreader @DrSabrinaMoldenReads 😊 Oh gosh I‘m not sure that‘s what I‘d call me. I‘m uncomfortable with a lot of things, but when I judge them compared to my sheer terror of heights, nothing else comes close anymore. Dogs used to paralyze me with fear too. But in my 20s I had awesome neighbors who worked with me with their large dogs, that terrified me to paralysis-a German shepherd and an Australian shepherd-until I overcame it. 19h
DrSabrinaMoldenReads @Texreader Dogs is one of my major fears. I saw my grandfather‘s dog (whom I was not supposed to get near) bite several people when he got loose. My fear is not socially acceptable these days. (Sigh) People let their dogs come right up to you. I understand the love for pets. It‘s just me. (edited) 18h
dabbe @Texreader Sometimes one fear is more than enough for the others. 🖤🩶🖤 17h
dabbe @DrSabrinaMoldenReads @Texreader Anyone who thinks it's okay to just let their dog wander up to someone is batshit crazy (IMHO). I have 2 German shepherds, and when walking them, we always walk to the other side if another person is walking. No one knows the paths that the other travels, and it's essential to give them space. 🖤🩶🖤 17h
DrSabrinaMoldenReads @dabbe Thanks for that 8h
Texreader @DrSabrinaMoldenReads @dabbe I‘ve known so many people who let their dogs jump on people. Sometimes that‘s what created the fear in little people in the first place 6h
DrSabrinaMoldenReads @Texreader Exactly! I did not mention about my granddaughters‘ fear now even of little dogs. A dog ran out of a garage in her neighborhood and literally tried to attack her. I don‘t even know what my son likely did to that dog and said to the dog‘s owner. I guess the dog is still alive. 25m

As a spooky connoisseur, this quiz humbled me lol. 6?! If it was spooky books owned and unread or have been on your TBR for years I‘d have a top score.😄 So I‘ll be the person to list 3 I think were missed.

•Justice for The Push! Lol it‘s a perfect creepy bad seed concept
•The Weight of Blood is a great Carrie retelling
•NOS4A2 - Christmas themed but absolutely belongs
•Honorable mention: The Grip of It is CREEPY!

dabbe Ooh, thanks for listing some new ones! One can never have enough spooky reads on their TBR to get to ... someday! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛

Reggie I loved The Weight of Blood. I only got 12 on the list and I tell people horror@is my main genre. Lolol omg. 7d
KT1432 Agreed @dabbe! And this was fun even though I am a bit ashamed lol! 7d

Tried to post this last night but I couldn‘t get on Litsy for some reason. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thanks @dabbe for the tag! I‘m not much of a horror reader so I‘m not surprised at my score. 😂
3 faves: Frankenstein (always!), Gone Girl, Rebecca

I‘m surprised I got SEVEN on this list, as someone who‘s really not into scary/creepy/horror! The three on the left are favorites from this list (although I was surprised to see Name of the Rose on there!). The three on the right I‘ve read the book and watched one or more movie adaptations. With Dracula and The Dead Zone, I enjoyed the book more, but Hitchcock‘s Rebecca tops both the book & the recent movie version for me!

lil1inblue That's a good list! 🌟 1w
dabbe Fab list! Have you seen the 1940s REBECCA? It's an all-time fave of mine. Thanks for playing and sharing. 🧡💜💛 1w
BarbaraJean @dabbe Yes!!! It was the first Hitchcock film I ever saw. I watched it years before reading the book—and I still think it's better than the book 🫣🤫🤭 7d

Yay! I made top 2%!! But horror is my jam, which is why I couldn‘t pick just three books. 😁 Sorry, @dabbe ! Just FYI—A Short Stay in Hell is not traditional horror. It is a very unique story that will burrow in your head and stay there. One truly horrifying aspect of the story are the numbers (I hated math!) as you try to comprehend the staggering calculations of infinity. 👻👹🧛🏻‍♀️🧟‍♀️💀 #TLT #ThreeListThursday
