So excited! Love the cover too!

Well, at least he's showing an interest in eating his vegetables 😅 the reading part will come lol
And now, for some easy, fun reading.
Nola is such an interesting character. I'm thinking she might be neurodiverse in some way, but it hasn't been addressed (yet). Hopefully, it is! For now, she's kind of like a Wednesday Addams, but in the real world lol Very curious to see what the author does with her.
Eve wasn't even supposed to be in these caves.

Loved The Overnight Guest, so decided to explore her backlist 📚📚📚
These Alicia Ortega books are sooooo sweet 💗
I'm making do with 2 hands... but I could use a third 😅
#readinglife #mommybookowl lol
Book 2. Why not?
I feel like this beer (whipped frosting DIPA) is the perfect pairing for this cozy mystery series set at a brewery.
I love when Google photos sends me memories of myself reading random books. I always try to remember what book I was reading based on the one page. Pretty sure this one is the tagged book. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I'm starting this book today for the THIRD TIME. It really seems like something I'll love, but I just never seem to be in the right mood. We shall see if 3rd time is a charm or a bust 😬
I dig that Baldree wrote it for nanowrimo. I haven't completed that challenge since 2018 (my husband got me this mug to commemorate it ☺️)
So I'm half-heartedly listening to this one, thinking to myself, this is really not what I expected, but The Lighthouse Witches was sooooo good, so I should stick with it. And then it hit me... I've mixed up my C.J.s. I chose this one thinking it was CJ Cooke, when in fact it's Tudor 😅...OK, now I can bail.
Stephen King fans may enjoy this one. It's fine, but TW for disturbing scenes involving children.
77% through and so eager to see how this ends!
Earth, cold and rocky, pressing against my cheek.

Another YA thriller. Love a good memory loss plot.
As much as I loved this premise, I found most of the twists to be very predictable way too early on. Nothing really surprised me, but it was still relatively entertaining.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
My first trip to a salon since 2017, a surprise gift from my husband for my first mother's day 💕
Reading with wine while my hair dye sets 😌
Okay, this book is legitimately scary, and I DO NOT scare easily. I'm impressed.
Spring Reading
📚❤️
Enjoying this YA thriller, but the narrator reads so slowly that I had to speed it up to 1.4 !!
"Do you want to do something bad?"

New Amstrong. Couldn't resist checking it out. My library hold just came in ☺️
Yes, this book is THAT level of meta 😅 I'm actually really enjoying it, though.
I love Kingfisher, and I love fairytale retellings, so I have very high hopes for this one!
"Sorry, kid, I wish I could help you, but you know how it is."
I've got a meta-horror going on my Kindle, so I've decided to throw on something fun for my audiobook. This one is a YA with lots of fae adventure. Kinda reminds me of the first Mortal Instruments.

TGIF 🎉
This book has a story in a story in ANOTHER story. It features a novel within a movie script within the book itself. I'm betting that would be a bit annoying for some readers, but I'm ok with it so far, maybe because I'm a former film student with novelist aspirations lol
Always finding creative ways to get my reading in these days 😅💕
Nope. I was very drawn to the premise, but I came across too many things I just never enjoy in my stories. I'm going to call them out as TWs: chid death, sexual abuse (implied), and rape. Not for me!
LOL First page of the script the characters are filming. This has some serious student film vibes, and I say that as a former film student!
Not sure how I feel yet about the story within a story format 🤔
Ah, Jane Eyre in space... how could I resist?! Unfortunately, it was a bit slow for my taste. It's been described as Jane Eyre meets The Martian. I'd say it's a lot Jane Eyre, and just a dash of The Martian. Definitely more like Jane Eyre in pace and tone. It held my interest, but barely. I just didn't really care about the characters, as there wasn't much to work with there. Preferred Brightly Burning.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Rainy, snowy, spring day here. Perfect for lazy reading time with cuddles 💕
After seeing this described as "Jane Eyre meets The Martian," in a @Bookwormjillk post, I couldn't resist!
20 chapters in. Pretty slow moving, but a lot of Jane Eyre vibes to grasp to, so I'm still intrigued.
I think I can officially name this as one of my favourite books 😅🤓
I love it so much.
Book blasphemy?
Wine with my beer-themed book 🤔
Happy Friday! The little one surprised me by sleeping in this morning, so I grabbed my kindle and my monitor and settled in with my coffee ?
As much as I love the idea of setting a cozy mystery at a beer brewery, it annoys me that the MC constantly refers to the young woman her husband cheated on her with as "the beer wench," but has no shamey nickname for him ?
1. ALL and then some 😅
2. I walked into the bookstore and found a good time.
Well that worked out well! @TheSpineView #Two4Tuesday
I couldn't help myself... new mom syndrome... just had to share with my littens 😅
Oh, joys of trying to instill book love into a 4 mo old 😅
Just grabbed the tagged audiobook on Libby. It's been on my TBR since I read The Hate U Give, but I keep putting it off, waiting for the right mood. I'm hoping the audio version will help suck me in since it revolves around hip hop music. Also, yeah, sneaking in a cute pic of my son cause it's kinda on theme 😅
For a long while, Joan has managed to balance on the balls of her feet, knees bent, skirt skimming the dirt.
#FirstLineFridays Such an intense read! My heart.
I would love to be part of a book club that picks monthly themes, rather than a specific book. I think it would be so interesting to chat about a broad theme within the framework of a bunch of books that handle that theme differently. Plus, its a great way to hear about more books! I don't have the social energy to start a book club, but if this exists and u know of it, please let me know 😅
😍
What great beer names! I'm a stout gal myself, so that Cherry Cordial has me drooling 🤤... though I love a good summer ale too.
Geez, this beer-themed cozy mystery is giving me serious cravings lol 🍻
As Easter approaches, I'm reading the tagged book, set over Easter weekend. Gotta say, I hoped it'd be ... greener by now 😅
Multitasking kinda morning 📚👶🏽☕️
Got my happy baby, my cozy book, and just outta frame, my lukewarm coffee... because what new mom can finish her coffee while it's still hot??? Lol
Happy Friday 🎉
IT WASN‘T SO MUCH THE sight of my husband‘s bare ass that would become permanently etched in my memory, but rather the rhythmic sounds of the German brass band oompah-ing in the background, coupled with the strong, but delicious smell of grains steeping in the mash tun.
😅 a beer-infused cozy mystery. Just what I need this weekend. #FirstLineFridays
First #AudioWalk with baby 😍📚🎧
A great way to break up the cabin fever.
Enjoying this thriller. Good suspense, intriguing twists.
Just found out one of my favourite series just started a spinoff 🎉📚
The road is narrow, the edges of it crumbling, as if losing its battle to hold the tree line back.
#FirstLineFridays & Happy St. Patty's Day 🍀
This Irish horror has been on my TBR for a couple months and today seems like the perfect day to start it.
