What a beautiful book and the perfect ending to an enchanting series. I‘m so glad I finished 2021 with this book (I split it between my print copy and an audiobook). I think the last book of the series is my favorite, and I‘m excited to show them off on my bookshelf☺️ Wonderful winter read!

GondorGirl I picked these up a new months ago, but thought I'd wait until winter to read them. They look amazing! 3w
MadelineMcCrae @GondorGirl I hope you like them! They are a perfect fantasy fairytale kind of winter read! 3w
Jovy Loved this series, and yes, the perfect winter read ❤️ 3w

Bk12 of December & #WinterGames2021 & Bk2 of #DashingDecember #readathon is done! I‘ve had this trilogy on my TBR for ages, I‘m glad I finally got to it. Russia is a fascinating country & I absolutely love the language. This had medieval Moscow, witches, chyerti & orthodox priests. Loved it. #AVeryMerryBingo #MerryBookmas #TisTheReadson #AVeryMerryReadathon #WinterCosy #WrapItUpReadathon #Adventathon #FairyTaleathon #MistletoeManiacs 5,106pts👇

I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new - don‘t judge me I have a lot of books.

I decided to try and finish some of the series I've started before beginning any new ones. I have no idea why it took me so long to get to this one. Maybe just sad that it is the end. Atmospheric and beautiful I love the portrayal of Russia and their magic and myths. Definitely one of my favourite trilogies of all time. #highlyrecommend

I have so much love for this trilogy, and book three was such a satisfying conclusion. I've read other reviews that claimed each book was better than the last and I would have to agree.

I didn't read as many books as I originally planned in 2020 but still read some amazing books. My top 5 of 2020
1. The Winter of the Witch
2. Becoming
3. The Five
4. The Night Circus
5. The Empire of Gold
I am ending the year strong with Ian Irvine's epic fantasy which could easily take a spot in the top 5.

JaneyWaneyB @TheAromaofBooks Sounds like the Postman got lost 😕 I saw pictures of the backlog of post in the US. Second class post is delayed here in the UK so probably affecting international post too. A few problems all round for the post. 🤞 we'll get letters across the pond in the New Year 🇺🇸🇬🇧 13mo
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @TheAromaofBooks I‘m so behind!!! I‘ve had several returned and some sent to me that were returned 🤷‍♀️ 13mo
JaneyWaneyB @CoffeeNBooks I loved it so much 😍 and I think it will be a re-read. I wasn't too keen on The Starless Sea though but think that needs another read over a few days rather than months as I kept losing the thread of the story. Any 2020 Books you feel like you need a re-read of? 13mo

now that I'm done, I'm a bit sad this lovely trilogy is over...off the bat, things are pretty intense in book 3 compared to the slow burn of the previous title and the story took turns I wasn't expecting but greatly enjoyed. I'm eager to see what Arden digs up for her adult fiction in the future.

Arden has managed to weave together so many stories, histories, and worlds and for the fact she started writing this series at age 23, I applaud her! Her attention to various bonds and how deep they go, how they can hurt, how they transform💗
I will always hold a soft spot for stories that combine myth/fantasy/supernatural/what have you and reality because they always leave me looking at the world a little differently 😉

A fitting ending to the Winternight Trilogy. It‘s everything you want in a fairy tale: magical creatures, complex characters and a timeless message - there‘s enough room in this big world for us to be different and still coexist in peace. I will miss these characters. ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

BookishTrish Do we need to have read the other Arden books for The Winter Witch to make sense? 2y

BookishTrish The others do too. I‘ve read The Art of Racing in the Rain but would be up for a reread 2y
runswithscissors007 I am sucker for all of these. Dogs, Russia and hot mysteries. And funnily I may never have chosen any of these on my own. so, again, not very helpful but all of these look great! 2y
FantasyChick I'm going to leave this one up to the majority. I thought you needed to read the first two books in order for Winter of the Witch to make sense but I could be wrong. I've only read the first book out the series. I have read the Darynda book but it was a long time ago and I do love this series so I'd be open to a reread. 2y
FantasyChick Unsaid also sounds pretty good 😊 2y

I really loved this trilogy overall. That being said, I‘m still processing the finale. At times the ending felt drawn out, but then it ended kind of abruptly. Some elements were a little predictable (the cover alone is a pretty big spoiler), but I really liked it despite some minor imperfections.
