Mehso-so

I read this entire series recently. I don‘t usually read historical romance so that was a new thing for me. I found they are very formulaic and some of them were truly bad but for the most part I still had a great time throughout the experience. My ranking goes 1. Benedict/Sophie 2. Anthony/Kate 3. Hyacinth/Gareth 4. Colin/Penelope 5. Gregory/Lucy 6. Francesca/Michael 7. Duke and I 8. Eloise/Phillip

This is my new favourite series- completely obsessed with these hopeless lesbians. Immediately wanted to reread as soon as I finished it!!

Super in the fantasy mood rn- these are some of the books on my immediate tbr - especially shadow and bone which I want to reread before the show comes out!!

imyril I just finished The Dragon Republic and aaaah it‘s hard going (dark military fantasy so not my thing) but I love these traumatized trash children and the slow development of their characters and the expanding world 3y

My October wrap up! Rereading the Raven boys series was the most fun, I‘ve missed those characters and I appreciated the last book at lot more the second time round. Both Spinning Silver and The Beautiful were so atmospheric 👌👌👌 I just wanted more from the romance in Spinning Silver.

This book had a lot of hype so I was a little nervous going in but I shouldn‘t have been. The world was so unique and the characters were so vivid. The romance was adorable and I wanted even more from it. Plot was this books downfall, particularly towards the end but overall it was a fun read that stood out from other ya fantasies 4.5⭐️

This was so wildly different from what I expected it to be but it was incredibly easy to read. I am still not sure what I read but I feel like it and the characters are going to stick with me for a bit. Also I can‘t remember the last book I read set in Australia and that was a lot of fun

I‘ll be honest I am 100% reading this series for the romance and on that front it is DELIVERING. I unashamedly flailed at all the scenes with the two together. The world building is still lacking for me and at times it seems rushed but you are never bored reading this book that‘s for sure. Bring on the next one!!!

Mehso-so

I reread this in anticipation of Wicked King and because I didn‘t feel the hype like other people did and wanted to give it another go. I‘ve decided I don‘t really like the first half of this book, the world building is so weak and not a lot happens. However the second half and especially the last quarter is excellent. I love the protagonists need for power- something usually reserved for villains. And the angsty slow burn romance is everything

While this book was a major page turner and I am a sucker for drama I personally struggled with the amount of girl/girl hatred and jealousy. I understand that it is clearly a major part of the competitiveness of ballet but it was not always fun to read. Still love the complex and (very) flawed characters.

This was the cutest novella!! Mik and Zuzana were my favourite part of the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy and this encompasses everything I loved about them. The illustrations are a beautiful addition and flesh out the story so well. Didn‘t expect to love this as much as I did.

Wow this was incredible. I could not put this down and read it all in one sitting. I loved the characters and their dynamics and relationships. The weaving of Shakespeare throughout which I thought would be annoying and pretentious was surprisingly brilliant.

I loved this!! I am so sad to say goodbye to these characters who were a breath of fresh air in YA. This series has much darker themes than his others which is why I think this one is my fav. I do think it did feel a little anti climatic at the end and I wish I had felt the stakes a bit more. 4.5⭐️

This was a fun one. The interpretation of fae was creepy and quite traditional compared to the powerful flawless models in Sarah J Maas‘ books. The romance felt forced for most of the book and there was a lot of telling rather than showing. I still had a great time and it was refreshing to read a stand-alone YA fantasy.

I wasn‘t that thrilled with this one. There were a million characters and I didn‘t connect with any of them really. The romances felt a bit forced and it didn‘t quite get as “dark” as I wanted it to. However it was super easy to read and it really picked up in the last act so I think a so-so sums it up perfectly

swishandflick Exactly how I felt! 7y
sdrosereads I actually disliked all of them. LOL No desire to read further and its supposed to be 4 parts. 7y
Brittbritt @sdrosereads I get that, I actually think it does improve a little in the sequel but it should only be a duology, four books is ridiculous. 7y
