I am remembering how disturbing this one is every min I hear it!!! But also I really don‘t like the music they play sometimes? It‘s too loud (compared to the reader) and scares the shit out me when I‘m driving to and from work! #AudioCommute
I haven't read this book in forever! I decided it was time to do a re-visit. This is my next #Audiobook (I already have forgotten how disturbing this is) ...
It‘s been years since I‘ve read this one, and I‘ve been mentally preparing myself for the degloving scene... but I forgot that before that, Jessie wants to cut herself to lubricate herself out of the handcuffs.
I‘m not sure I can read that. Any description or enactment of self-harm in this vein (no pun intended) causes a visceral reaction in me. I‘m talking grayed vision, flushed skin, could faint if I continue.

Get ready for the post dump. I'm so behind.
Geralds game was um....something....I am not even sure. It was ALOT. Glad it's out of the way...........wonderfully written and spooky as hell....bordering on traumatizing 🤣🤣

Thriftbooks came through this time - pretty good condition! I‘ll be rereading this for the first time in decades in February. I much preferred Dolores Claiborne; we‘ll see if that changes this time around!
#chronologicalkingread
In order to resume my #ChronologicalKingRead, I need a copy of the tagged book. I‘ve earned juuust enough to afford it thanks to whatever coupon my web browser found for me yesterday!
Here‘s hoping “Very Good” condition is accurate...

One of the Christmas gifts I received from my mom! A Stephen King blanket. ☺️ It‘s so big and cozy. I love it! 📚🧶❤️❤️❤️ She ordered it from Etsy.

My 2nd SK book for this week is disturbing on so many levels. Such vivid imagery — I will never look at a pair of handcuffs the same way again! 😱 I‘m off to watch the movie on Netflix now. SK is definitely the master of horror. 4⭐️

This was excellent. I loved Jessie‘s character development! The one scene (if you know, you know) was a bit physically painful to read and made my hand itch 😱
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
On to another King novel 👻
I took this picture last month in Maine at the lighthouse Forrest Gump ran to in the movie. It‘s a beautiful place by the #water. I haven‘t read this book but I‘m sensing it‘s not as serene as this location.

Cuffed to bed posts, Jessie wishes someone would save her, but not only does she save herself but comes out of the traumatic experience stronger.

Trying to get one Stephen King in a month. Not sure I can pull it off all year though. What are his best books?
I wanted to read this because it is loosely tied to Dolores Claiborne. Jessie and her husband head to a secluded cabin for adult fun. Things don‘t go as planned and Jessie ends up handcuffed to the bed and alone. Her time is spent between flashbacks and conversations with the voices in her head. Her determination and will are remarkable. Her situation is terrifying. This one has plenty of triggers.
Oh Kellie thank you so much for this wonderful Valentine package! You did too much but I adore all of it-the socks, the pin, the magnet, the pouch, lights, chapstick, face mask, candies and a perfect book choice. I can‘t thank you enough for your kindness. I really needed it this week.
Thanks to the amazing Julie for organizing for us.

Starting a bit late, but this is my first read of the #deweys #readathon
Maybe it was just me? But I couldn‘t get into it. I thought it was super drawn out and it couldn‘t keep my attention. Like ok, she‘s stuck to the bed, now what? I guess a lot of people really like it, but it wasn‘t for me
Is anyone surprised at this point that I'm late again? Ha! Day 21 #sisforseptember is #surprise and I don't know if there's anything more surprising then being cuffed to a bed and the only person who can let you go dies suddenly.

Here come the fall pics! 😍🍃
Gerald's Game!
I didn't think this book was brilliant or anything but it was good and I'm glad I read it; it was really creepy! ☻🔗

The last quarter of the book may seem a bit thin and shaky, but it's effectively buoyed by this survival story's simple and isolating suspense, intimate point of view, and love for its central star character.
I foolishly thought this would be a tame introduction to Stephen King. This book has haunted me for several days and it will continue to haunt me for a long time. I bow to you, Mr. King, master of horror.
Hi my fellow Round 3 #lmpbc #groupP participants! These are the four choices I‘m trying to decide between for my pick. Have you guys read any of these or are there any that you really want to read? Please let me know so I can narrow down my choices and pick one 😊 @suvata @arubabookwoman @Laura317
Decided to listen on Audible today as I worked on projects. Thought I picked a no-brainer. Hooked right away but ... is it bad to say the beloved Stephen King could have MAYBE made this a bit shorter? Over 5 hours in & over 8 more to go. Not much of a build up so far for me but with all of the #metoo & post #50shades I expected something >unique. I know. I am evil & certainly no Mr. King. Will press on but I must really be jaded. Pray for me.
• Day 7 of the KingAtoZ Challenge: A King book I HAVE read! It‘s been several years since I read it but I remember enjoying it. By the way, I am really excited to do this challenge every day! •

1. Stephen King is the master. Tagged book may not be the scariest, but how the MC escaped is horrific.
2. I can‘t do visual violence or gore. I kept my head down for the 1st & last half hour of Saving Private Ryan.
3. Watching my dad die of cirrhosis. It was terrible.
4. @GypsyKat
Thanks for the tag, @Ubookquitous !
Even though it takes place in one room and has only one person mostly. King still manages to creep me out. Jessie is amazing and so strong.
Should've listened Gerald...
A buried childhood trauma resurfaces when Jessie finds herself cuffed, and she fights back, repulsed.
The quote is from Mike Flanagan's terrific adaptation, but it encompasses pages of backstory in a single line.
Carla Gugino's performance was absolutely stellar.

The best part about being sick in bed is having an awesome #cupidgoespostal package from @Alfrazier21 to open! Thank you so much! I love the unicorn erasers! I almost bought them for myself and passed! Now i have them! The pen is giving me 80‘s vibes! Love it! We did have a small fatality with the flower pot but i have something else i can grow it in! Thank you again so much! I love it all!
A lot of #nasty in this novel. I also marked it down for another prompt for #FierceFeb. A nasty game leads to a nasty end for Gerald, leaving Jessie in a nasty situation... and in company of a nasty visitor. But she works her way through the trauma and badasses her way through it all. One of my favorite female characters in not just SK's works but overall.
@Cinfhen @batsy
Not King's best work but still an enjoyable, chaotic read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #stephenking #tbrbeatdown #readyourshelves
When your main & really only character is handcuffed to the bed for most of the novel, with only a mangy stray dog, the voices in her head, & the ominous Space Cowboy lurking in the corner as her only companions, strong characterization is needed. Jessie was a great character, with a fully fleshed out backstory, & I was captivated by her struggle to survive. The audiobook had creepy music that I was not expecting but added to the atmosphere.
After watching the Netflix movie , I really wanted to pick this up , so of course I went to the book store on my break , whoops 🙄
