Jane of Lantern Hill | L M Montgomery

This is another L.M. Montgomery book I don‘t remember ever reading before, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it today. Yes, it was a bit predictable and the quick resolution at the end was a bit unsatisfactory, but it also included the humor, variety of characters, and descriptions of nature that I love about Montgomery‘s writing.

This book by Shusaku Endo did not impact me as strongly as his book Silence, but it was a very thoughtful book. It considers spiritual questions through the stories of four Japanese tourists visiting the Ganges River in India.

You all know I can‘t say no to a memoir! This one was on the periphery of my radar and took the plunge after stumbling across the #audiobook on #hoopla. It was repetitive (many memoirs are) but it had something to say about post-9/11 America through the lens of a musical group traveling across the states on a tour to “perform” for audiences in malls, opera houses, etc. music that reminds audiences of the Titanic soundtrack. Decent read.

This was fun but I may not continue with the series. I do like these kinds of gender bending alternative world type books. And the #audiobook was well done.

#audiobook - wow this is so great so far! Loving the book and highly recommend this in audio. Amazing narrator!

Linsy That's always good to know! The narrator can really make or break an audiobook. 2d

This is why I love the afternoon car rider line … peaceful #audiobook time. I‘ve been so looking forward to this book and was stoked when my hold was available this morning. Hooray for libraries! 💃🏼

The book was filled with a good spooky feel, exciting and thrilling as I was rooting for our young heroes.

I recommend reading this series if interested in the paranormal and ghosts for a younger audience. Adventure and friendship go hand in hand in this series.

If you‘re among the #80sFolks on Litsy, this is a can‘t-miss memoir! Grey shares about her childhood, famous father, and her rise to fame herself. She does a fair amount of dishing about everyone from Swayze to Matthew Broderick to Madonna but manages not to vilify anyone. She skips most of her 30s and picks up at motherhood in her 40s and her run on DWTS. There is A LOT about her infamous nose job! Go with the #audiobook!

squirrelbrain Ooh I wondered if it would include her nose job! This one is DEFINITELY stacked - it‘s *the* film of my teenage years. 6d
RebL Memoir fan here. Thought I hit all the 80s peeps last year. Thanks for the tip. 6d
Cinfhen Yay!!! And I hear Selma Blair‘s memoir is also excellent 6d

vivastory Did you see the recently edited ending of Dirty Dancing with the Muppet Show theme song? It's pretty spectacular. 2h

Megabooks I‘m interested in this, but the length has put me off. 1w
vlwelser @Megabooks I think you would really like this one. The depth and breadth of her project make it super interesting. I didn't mind the length because of that. 1w

Unpopular opinion time! 🙋🏻‍♀️ I listened to this on audiobook and was a little disappointed. I think the title is a bit misleading and I‘ve never listened to their podcast, although I do consider myself a true crime junkie. The self help aspect was a little grating, with long passages about their childhood memories that didn‘t add much to the story imo. The true crime parts were interesting. Maybe it wouldn‘t have bothered me as much if I had ⬇️

JenlovesJT47 Read it with my eyeballs, but I was glad when it ended. 😬 That being said, I‘d still give their podcast a listen at least once, maybe I‘ll like that better. 2.5⭐️ #audiobook #truecrime #memoir #selfhelp #podcast 1w
Patchshank I think you have to be a fan of the podcast to really like the book. But a lot of fans where let down by it too since it wasn't really true crime based. I enjoyed it, but i do think they should write some actual true books. I think that would be interesting. 1w
