I felt so seen reading this! I relate to so much of it, and even managed to find words for certain experiences I‘ve never been able to describe. From the discomfort of tights and dresses, and not liking them letting down our mothers to the let down and struggle of puberty. I know some people felt this book was disjointed and confusing. This is what the inside of my head is like, so this made total sense to me.

Definitely uplifting for the vast majority of us. The truth about the history of the SAT and ACT were shocking. I think there is still a certain privilege to his claims because not everyone has the ability to just move out change jobs. I think he does acknowledge some of this, but just barely.

A slightly different spin on grit at the end, but makes valid points that there are limits to this. Mostly uplifting and a nice positive read. Face book is a catastrophe, but you still have stock in it (so you‘re still profiting off of the catastrophe). You wrote this book while J&J was swamped by lawsuits over harm done, but you cite them as how this catastrophe should be handled.

This is more of his memoir of privilege than anything.
