Very diabolical, an unreliable MC & it turns out, unreliable characters everywhere. It‘s very twisty with grey motives abounding all over the place. A very nice read. I got about halfway through The Murder Rule before a combo of headache,eye strain & fatigue forced me to stop, so I pulled out my now “vintage” iPod & started the tagged book, which is a total comfort reread. It‘s past midnight here in Sydney so I‘m kicking off my #MarvellousMay #readathon now with my brand new(and signed)copy of the tagged book. Unlike her previous novels which were set in her native Ireland(expat now here in Oz), this one is set in the US, Charlottesville Virginia to be precise. Hannah volunteers for a semester at the Innocence Project, working on a death row case. But instead of exonerating him, she‘s trying to convict him.

I finally broke my #bookbuyban for 2022, it‘s been an awful year already so far, my birthday was a bust with us being sick, so I thought bugger it. 12 books later…They range from Crime to SciFi to Fantasy & Historical. With 3 signed copies! The hubby is going to South Australia for almost two weeks to see his 93yr old Nanna so it‘s a perfect time to tempt my reading brain with some new reads. Still struggling with memory & concentration problems from long covid, amongst other symptoms but the those two are REALLY affecting my reading & so to me are the worst of the bunch! Doesn‘t help to have a 13 week old boxer dog who thinks she‘s a baby & likes to sleep on my shoulder. And snores. How‘s everyone else doing? I‘ve missed you guys! Bk2 of April & #AwesomeApril #Readathon was done Wednesday. Another reread, this was a mix of both audio & print book. One of my fave comfort reads when I‘m not feeling great, the world building, characters & story is fantastic(and much better than the tv series!!)Yes there could‘ve been better female characterisation & has no lgbtq rep but it was written over 30yrs ago. Bk1 of April & #AwesomeApril #readathon was done on Monday.I‘ve found myself still struggling with my concentration & memory post covid and was having a lot of problems with reading a new book. So I tried a reread by audio which while not a cause for celebration, at least has me reading something! Say hello to Ruby Tuesday, my birthday present from the hubby. Isn‘t she adorable? I really really wanted a corgi but the prices for puppies were just ridiculous, over $7,000aud so we went for a boxer instead. Didn‘t hurt that she looks like a mini version of Twitch, our bull mastiff dog we lost to heart problems two years ago. We‘re having a bit of an adjustment period so far, but she should settle in soon.🤞 #dogsoflitsy

My reading has taken a big hit after covid, just can‘t seem to follow along with a story, my mind drifts. Has any other litten experienced this post covid?

I survived coronavirus! And managed to finish this amazing High Fantasy trilogy on audiobook. Bks 5,6&7 of March were just as fabulous 30yrs ago. A companion trilogy to the Riftwar Saga by Feist, these are set on Kelewan, the feudal Japan like world of the race that invaded Midkemia. Mara is a 17yr old girl about to take holy orders when she learns of her father & brothers death in the war & becomes Ruling Lady of the Acoma. Political & violent.

Well ain‘t that a bitch! There goes my plans for the readathon, just tested positive after waking up with a 40C temp. I can feel the headache creeping up on me so I‘ll be offline for a few days probably, crossing my fingers I don‘t end up in hospital. I did all the right things too! Bk4 of March is done! Took me awhile to start reading, not the book, just a lot going on right now. But when I did read it, it was worth the effort. I‘d sub categorise it as “space gang adventure!”Captain Niko walked away from the Hive Mind to start a restaurant called Last Chance & took her unit with her. Well.Hasn‘t this been the week from hell! Oh my, which covers should I choose? There‘s the Seasons Editions of classics, the Bloomsbury Modern Classics, the special edition Pratchetts or SOIAF special editions, the Harry Potter books, the Penguin Galaxy series or the Daughter Of Smoke & Bone series, I could go on. And on. Yes I know, I‘m a total cover whore! I‘m totally drawn to a beautiful cover. But if a book is good, I‘ll read it no matter what it looks like though!

Bk2 of February 2022 is done! The 3rd Rizzoli book is one of my favourites in the series. It introduces Father Brophy & both Maura & Jane are given more depth. A bitterly cold Xmas in Boston & a young nun is found bludgeoned to death in the Abbeys chapel, another nun barely hanging onto life. Bk1 of February is done. A reread of a book which is technically the 2nd Rizzoli & Isles novel but really is the first book with both Jane AND Maura involved. I loved it just as much this time around. Rizzoli is battered but unbent after her encounter with The Surgeon when a bee series of murders start.
