Bk8 of November & Bk1 of #20in4 #readathon is done! I actually read this before but it was more skim read at the time coz brainfog meant I didn‘t grasp the science well, and this is full of it. As well as being one of the best heist novels I‘ve read! Is #SpaceHeist a genre? It bloody should be. I loved the gang formed to pull the con off, I love the con itself & I really enjoyed the science this time around. Needs repeat reads👍 #BookspinBingo 👇

Today‘s #Bookmail is highly appropriate considering the weather Australia is having right now. We‘re in the grip of another La Niña & it‘s been constant rain for weeks with a lot more in sight. Normally it‘s thunderstorm season but this is just wet. At least there should be no major bushfires this summer? The tagged book is by an environmental journalist about the origins of rain, types of rain & it‘s significance to human cultures?⛈?

Cinfhen I love your wind-chime!!!! How are you, darlin??? 6h
Lizpixie @Cinfhen thank you love! I think I bought it at a craft market years ago, my house is covered with them, inside too. It soothes me. I‘m so-so, at least I‘m home which is infinitely better than hospital. Missing my love bug grandson, he‘s starting to smile & coo now😍How are you? I heard the new strain is in Israel already. You guys ok? 6h
Cinfhen Are you still in lockdown?? I didn‘t realize you have a new baby grandson/ congrats 🎉 💙We‘re well & we‘ve been enjoying a few “normal” months but yes, sadly the newest strain is now here in Israel. And there is talk of a fifth wave and another lockdown situation. 😭😭😭so frustrating. I‘m glad you‘re home and able to read because I remember your sight was affected at some point. 6h
See All 10 Comments
Lizpixie @Cinfhen no, just no visitors in the hospital, didn‘t want to risk him. Yes, he‘s gorgeous, almost 9 weeks old now and the light of my life. Him & his mum are doing it tough, he‘s refluxy plus in a cast for most of his life so far with a brace now till he‘s 6, talipes of the left foot. Lockdowns suck, I think it‘s our new normal though until vaccines become more efficient. Yes, my eyes are affected by my disease, some days more than others👇 5h
Lizpixie @Cinfhen that‘s when I thank god for audiobooks! I really hope this year hurries up and buggers off, but the way things are going it‘s not getting better anytime soon🤷🏻‍♀️ (edited) 5h
Cinfhen Prayers and strength to his mom / that‘s difficult to be in a cast. What‘s his name?? I‘m sure he‘s a beautiful boy. And yes, audiobooks are the BEST!! 5h
Lizpixie @Cinfhen his name is Jaxon Allan. I‘ll post a photo of him so you can see, Ciara sent me one yesterday of him laughing. I wish we could post videos, I have one from last week where I‘m talking to him & he‘s smiling & cooing at me for the 1st time, it‘s sooo cute! The cast annoys him coz it‘s so heavy to move & he‘s such a wrigglebutt. Congrats on becoming a MIL btw, are you a grandma yet? 5h
Cinfhen Oh, that‘s a beautiful name and congrats to Ciara 😘nope, only a fur baby for me! My daughter told me I could probably expect another puppy before a baby 🙄 5h
Lizpixie @Cinfhen fingers crossed you get to be a grandma soon! It‘s one of my main reasons for living now, to see their smiles & hear their laughter. There‘s nothing like holding your new grandbaby in your arms. I have 6 so far but just one granddaughter. I‘m hoping the next one is a little girl💕But a puppy would be awesome too, hubs and I are actually looking for one now, our last dog passed away last year. Trying to decide on a breed but I want a corgi! 4h
Hooked_on_books If you like this one even half as much as I did, you‘ll love it! It‘s fascinating! 3h

Bk6 & 7 of November are done. I managed to finish these by audiobook mostly while I was in hospital. I started the tagged book which is the 2nd in the series but couldn‘t remember the MC so went back to reread The Long Call first. I love the new setting for this, North Devon is not a place written about much so Google Maps was my friend. Highly recommend this & all Cleeve‘s work. The tagged was my #Doublespin bk for November‘s #BookspinBingo

CourtSmall I loved the first book but was bored out of my brain with the second book. Listened to both on audio 8h

It seems I‘ve been released from hospital just in time! Hi everyone, sorry I‘ve been MIA but I‘ve been in a horrible little bed on a lot of strong stuff to get over this flare. I‘ll be using #20in4 #readathon to get in a last few November reads as I haven‘t read much this month. Though I did finish two audiobooks while in bed. My goals for this weekend are:

Bk5 of November & Bk3 of #NovelNovember #Readathon is done. The last few days have been a nightmare, worst flare I‘ve ever had has made me unable to even hold a book and I‘ve been trying to sleep through most of it. So I had to switch to an audiobook the past two days & finished the 8th book of the WOT instead. The Seanchan are in Ebou Dar, Rand has taken Illian & Elayne, Nynaeve & Aviendha are on their way to Caemlyn. #BookspinBingo👇

Bk6 of my recent #BookMail included this beautiful signed edition of Klunes new novel. Isn‘t it pretty? I love this colour in books, I think I have another ones with the same colour sprayed edges, The Butchers Hook I believe. This is supposed to be another sweet story on the same lines as the last one. Guess I should get around to reading that first!

Bk5 is the last Seasons Edition-Fall that I received today, Dracula has been held up, I assume it‘s been popular, but I preordered so🤞Then I shall have the complete series of all four seasons to look pretty on my #ShelfForPrettyBooks Ah Shakespeare. What can I say about Wil that hasn‘t been said before? Not much. This contains Romeo & Juliet, A Midsummers Night Dream, The Taming Of The Shrew, As You Like It, Twelfth Night & the complete Sonnets.

Bk4 of today‘s #BookMail is another Seasons Editions-Fall, this time a highly regarded middle grade book. I think nearly every Litten would probably have read this at some point during their reading life? It‘s a story about family and love but it‘s mostly about hope I think. And doesn‘t the world love it! I was just on GR to add this to my shelves, there‘s almost 1,100 editions in many different languages😲

I‘m just waiting on Dracula & then I‘ll have the full set of Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter🌱🌵🍂❄️

Bk2 of today‘s long overdue #Bookmail is the 2nd in Ann Cleeves new crime series. Set in the south of England this time(Vera was NorthUmberland & Shetland was the most northern part of the UK),Detective Mathew Venn lives & works in Devon, just above Cornwall on the SW coast of England. In an unusually hot summer, he‘s called to an artists retreat where he finds Dr Nigel Yeo fatally stabbed with a piece of one of his daughters blown glass vases.

Finally got some of my overdue #bookmail today! Auspost has a huge backlog since the lockdown forced half the country to embrace online shopping. Which for us housebound people means huge waits for items we can‘t get out to get at any time.I‘ve seen photos of their warehouse😱Xmas may be moved to January this year! This is the new novel by an Aussie author set in the south of Tasmania about drug running & pirates. His debut last year was brilliant.

Bk4 of November & Bk2 of #NovelNovember #33by33 #readathon & the last of #AnyWayYouReadathon is done! Read as an audiobook on Scribd, I came to this as a new Asimov reader and on the back of the series now on AppleTV so I don‘t know if it‘s the narrator or because it‘s so different from the screen adaptation, but I much preferred that🤭I know, gasp shock horror. Maybe if I‘d read this first it would be different? I‘ll try Asimov again though.👇

My Saturday night is looking very futuristic so far! In bed with yet another breakdown, instead of quality nanny time I‘ll be switching between the tagged chunkster, which is the 1st in a very large trilogy, and the audiobook of the 1st Foundation book. My very first Asimov, I‘ve been watching the adaptation on AppleTV & loved it, but the book is very different isn‘t it? Which do you prefer Asimov lovers? #NovelNovember #33by33 #AnyWayYouReadathon

Andrew65 I love Asimov and been re-reading a lot of his books over the last few years, having first read them in my teenage years. Didn‘t know they had made it into a tv series. 2w

I think my bedside table #stack may have gotten a bit out of hand lately, I‘m in danger of being concussed by falling books in my sleep! It‘s mostly books I‘ve started but haven‘t gotten past the 1st chapter & books I‘ve read but haven‘t put away yet. I‘m having another rough start to my reading month, the beginning of a slump plus bubs reflux being so bad his mum needs my help has combined to nix any reading plans. Any suggestions my Litsy peeps?

wanderinglynn Several of those are sitting on my TBR stack! 🙌🏻 I loved Whispering Door. But when I‘m in a reading slump, I tend to reread an old fave or go to a light-hearted read. 2w

Roary47 Wooo hop that gives you all 6! Great job! 1mo

Bk36 of #LittensDressedInBlood & Bk17 of #Scarathlon2021 #Screamathon #SpookoweenReadathon #Wickedathon #ItsBritneyBingoWitch #BookishBingo #ChapterBreakBingo #OutOfComfortZoneBingo (cont below)👇 is done. The 10th in the Rowly Sinclair series starts with them in Singapore after the last set in Shanghai. A telegram from Boston brings them to the US as executor of Rowly‘s Oxford friend after his murder. My #Doublespin Bk 4⭐️ 2,216pts #TeamSlaughter

CarolynM Did you know Sulari lost her house in the 2020 bushfires? I can't blame her for keeping us waiting for the next Rowly book, but I'm feeling impatient anyway. 1mo

Lizpixie @CarolynM no I didn‘t! She lives on the Hawkesbury doesn‘t she? @Clwojick they did a redesign of the covers a few years ago and I won signed copies of the eight published at the time. They‘re all gorgeous👍 (edited) 1mo
CarolynM She lives in Batlow. 1mo
Lizpixie @CarolynM oh ok. Why did I have the impression she lived not far from Wisemans Ferry?🤔 1mo

My #Week3 points tally for #TeamSlaughter in #Scarathlon2021 is 13,531pts. Which brings my Total so far to 30,468pts! Not bad considering the slow start to the month(though I did have the best excuse. Jaxon is now 4 weeks old & thriving!) I‘ve read 16 bks & almost a 17th, watched 8 different movies/tv shows, read the team #buddyread & had a great time. Let‘s crush the last week team!🙌🎃🔪

Lizpixie #TeamSlaughter The tagged book is a really good GN I found on Scribd about a young woman in L.A who has believed there‘s magic in the world since being saved by a magical beast as a teenager. Very bright colours & a great story. The 2nd was the #Owlcrate bk of Sept, a gothic/horror fantasy about two siblings taken to live at the manor of their lord because their magic may save it from a curse. Wasn‘t half bad at all👍 (edited) 1mo
Andrew65 12 books in nine days is phenomenal! 👏👏👏🙌 (edited) 1mo

TheAromaofBooks I really enjoyed Blackbird when I read it a year or so ago - I keep hoping there will be more added to the story, but it doesn't look like there is anything new yet. 1mo

Just watched the last five episodes of this on Stan. Gotta say, wasn‘t a fan of the ending at all, it‘s more like Pretty Little Liars or I Know What You Did Last Summer. I did grow to like the actors though, they did a pretty good job all up. 26pts #TeamSlaughter #Scarathlon2021

I also watched The Mothman Prophecies movie today & am halfway through the audiobook it‘s based on. I forgot how strange this movie is, I‘m not sure it makes much sense at the end, the book is a non fiction written by the journalist Richard Gere‘s character is based on but it‘s more about how he thinks UFOs are behind every paranormal event. Weird🤷🏻‍♀️ 6pts #Scarathlon2021 #TeamSlaughter
