Hands down ended up the favorite of this series, so far. But I was so angry (confused?) at first. I didn‘t expect the dark twist (perhaps I should have?) and was so angry at Tamlin! But the city was a shock, and her growth was inspiring. And I must say Rhysand is a surprise. Of course blissful peace and growth eternal would be so boring 🤣 so there‘s the impending doom, war & conspiracy, too. #recentlyread #nospoilers #fantasy
Anger. Surrender. Bliss. Devastation. Triumph. All those emotions and more are encountered in this initial book of the series. I cried. I cheered. I groaned and winced. By the end I was rooting for Feyre with all my heart, and couldn‘t wait to dive into book 2. #recentlyread #nospoilers #fantasy
P.S. Thank you to a friend of mine for prompting me to move these up the TBR and crack open the box!
One day I will get better at posting timely reviews, but for now I can at least catch up a little bit. 🙃 This book unraveled like the threads of a tapestry. Slowly and intriguingly pulling the reader in until the final climactic end. I won‘t spoil anything, but I must say it was slightly…disappointing, in some ways. I don‘t know if I could choose another ending, but I do wish for better. Others may judge differently. #nospoilers #historicfiction
Here‘s one reason for my shift in priorities! ?

Throwback to a blissful day on the beach 🏖 with my husband on my birthday 🎉. My progress is a little slow in comparison to my former reading pace, but definitely very intrigued by the twists and turns in this book. #currentlyreading #watersign #happyplace
1. There is an infamous story of me crying at my desk in middle school (full-on sobbing) over the impact of a book. I cannot remember the name for the life of me, but I recall it was a classic 🤷🏻♀️🥹
2. Sci-fi, fantasy and mystery - suspense & imagination
3. Tagged is a fine example
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs
#booksandlunch So far I am very intrigued. #currentlyreading 🤔❤️📚
There haven‘t been too many books this year that have sucked me in and taken me for a ride, and I miss that feeling of not being able to turn the pages fast enough. 🥹🙃 Borrowed this from the library Friday, and before our trip to visit the family in NJ on Saturday (and during) finished it, cover to cover. Paranormal & Fae is just my ☕️. Onto number 2, ASAP! #recentlyread #paranormal #nospoilers #fastpaced
Feels like it‘s been forever. 🙃 Here‘s a sampling of my upcoming reading list, the tagged book I finished in a day!!, and a stuffie + bookmark from recent events. ❤️ Three are also from the library, as I got my card replaced! 🎉📚 #bookworm #tbr #helloagain #libraryhaul
The story continues from Wake. Same cast of characters, with a few more teachers mixed in. The school drama continues, but there is definitely ⚠️ for predatory behavior (vague to not give the plot away). I am thankful I had a couple of hours, because I literally read it that fast. Sucks you in, and you just hold on! #recentlyread #nospoilers #dreams #onesittingread #imagination #school #drama 😳
This is YA, but with a bit of an intense subject matter. (School drama, drugs, ⚠️ for abuse) It requires some suspension of belief, because dreams and the like. But it‘s a slow burn of a book, by the end I was flipping pages as fast I could, waiting to get to the end. Also, I am very glad I also had book 2! #recentlyread #nospoilers #scifi #dreams #fastpaced #imagination 😳🙂😃🤔
Belated Easter weekend post. My husband and I went to Columbus Market in NJ and among other fun & needed things, walked away with these #bookhaul books. All for a grand total of $8! (Ugh, math 🤣) Top 3 are his 😀🙃, rest are mine! The tagged book is even #autographed! #newin #usedbooks #thankful #foreveroag 📚🥰❤️🐣
Where did February go?! And March?! 🙃🙃🥲 Anywho, I finally conquered this book. I am so glad that I did. Because unexpected things happened that I dared not hope for, and shocking things happened that left me in all the feels. Jamie, Claire, Brianna, Roger, little Jemmy, Ian, and the rest of Fraser‘s Ridge are ❤️❤️🥹😛🥲🥹 in the best of way. #outlander #timetravel #chunker #bigbook #done 🎉
📚Yup! Recently re-read Jayne Eyre, absolutely adore The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers, all of Sherlock Holmes, Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, Of Mice and Men (that was hard) and even 1984
📚 Ashamed to say haven‘t read some of the greats from my homeland, including the tagged Dead Souls, War and Peace (Война и Мир) and Crime and Punishment (Преступление и Наказание). One day, soon.
@TheSpineView #Two4Tuesday ❤️❤️💙✨
Popping up to say that February was the slowest month for me for 2022. I am conquering this chunkster and I am officially into *new territory* for me in this series. 😬😱🤯😞🤣❤️🤦🏻♀️😁🙏🏻 covers about almost all the emotions. #currentlyreading #timetravel #outlander
The promised #bookhaul post from the wonderful 💎 of a store called Around Again & Again Books. I felt it was fate that this 📖, which I needed for my collection, was available. The Shakespeare edition is stunning, and the new (to me) series is prehistoric fiction 🎉🥰💙. My husband picked the Star Wars Encyclopedia. 🥲 #tbr #bookworm #usedbooks #keepbooksalive
What is it about leftover Chinese food that always perks me up? 🥲🥰 My husband spoiled me over the weekend. We got to go to a park, Chinese food, and a bookstore (#bookhaul post coming)!! This is my currently read, and the final book I finished the first time around. The rest will be new territory. #currentlyreading #outlander #timetravel
P.S. I normally do not condone stickers on books 😬, but from what I remember this was a special occurrence
Finished this one in January 🙃😬. Slowest going of the ones read so far, except for the shock of the end. Brianna and Roger, Bonnet 😡 and Ian. 😞🥲💔 Miscommunication. Hardships. Trials. Family drama. All the feels. And yet it ends on a hopeful note, so my journey continues with the next one. #recentlyread #historicalfiction #timetravel
P.S. life happened and cover got bent 😬 I wasn‘t going to post a picture of it, but decided honest = best
#JANUARY2022 recap has me firmly planted in a re-read of Outlander, having recently binged the Netflix Series. And this time so far this reads differently. And has actually given me an interesting evaluation of myself, as I have changed and adapted through the years… I even understand more the 🔺fate of Claire‘s life. And the pressure. #outlander continues. #historialfiction #romance #timetravel 📚❤️
📚 Tagged book: 833 pages. 2021 was a slower year 🙃🥲
📚 No, I normally like chunksters. I am happily re-reading (and reading) the full Outlander series now, and each book is longer than the one above, some significantly. 🤯🥲 I am thankful I have the concentration, time and chance to read more again! 🥰 I do have one that I still haven‘t conquered, which I will try to get to! 🤔😬
#Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView
When you go home for a visit to prepare an important talk at church ⛪️ and get some rest over the weekend, you get treated to yummy beet soup (borscht 🇷🇺)🥣 and definitely bring along a 📖! #currentlyreading #romance #timetravel #blessed ❤️🥰🥲
An update on my progress. Flew through book #3. The absolute best and heart-stopping opening line about Jamie, his fate, finding he‘s alive, making the decision to go back!! 20 years. To recover a love that happens once-in-a-lifetime. And at an interesting moment for her, too. And then of course, thrown into the thick of things. Fergus! Laoghaire! 🤔😝😠😨 This time I understand more. And differently. #recentlyread #romance #fantasy #outlander
🥲🇫🇷🏴 This book. Set in both times it balances the historical with the personal and the powerful. Character growth, progression, and depth. It‘s helping my reading pace so far for this year, and so an update: my office book shelves are up, my stuffed animal collection has a new home, and my loyal Chatty #catsofLitsy still lays with me while I read. Also #blessed to work from home. #recentlyread #outlander #romance #timetravel 😻
After binge-watching the series on Netflix, I realized that a re-read of this series would be a good way to kick off 2022. My copy is an odd-ball, but I love it. Wherever I found it, it got me into this world. The rest are waiting to be savored as I progress. #bookworm #reread #outlander #romance #timetravel #epicstorytelling 🥰❤️📚
2021 ended with this 💎! Character development, the excitement of the chase, difficult decisions and punchy dialogue reminds me how much I enjoy this series, despite the reputation of the author. Detective work and drama on a finer level, for the pleasure of this #bookworm. #recentlyread #nospoilers ❤️📚
Christmas 🎄 was centered on the joy of receiving new books! 📚 🥰😄😍 After putting together a list of those that I want to get into, I have returned to the world of Outlander and completed my collection. I have also acquired books for my #TBR for 2022! 🎉🤵🏽♂️👰🏻❤️ #newin #bookworm #bookishchristmas
This was an interesting and thoughtful book that showed another side of a character not as well known, and one of the books that I recently accomplished reading. Trying to come back and post on LITSY again, just to show that I haven‘t forgotten. #recentlyread
My #doublespin selection for July 2021 was this fascinating anthology of the lives of ordinary people. There have been some adventures about the dialect in some of these stories. Edited: pictured behind is the state of my library at the moment, due to a huge move with my husband. So, @TheAromaofBooks I am working on my list to participate in #August BINGO. Wish me luck! ☺️🙂📦🚚📚🙏🏻
If I have read this book, I certainly don‘t remember. After re-watching the Twilight series on Netflix (🤭🙃😍) I was in the mood for something fun, fast paced and somewhat guilty pleasure. This certainly fits the bill and is a worthy beginning to a full series. ❤️ the take on the duality of guardians and their charges. And the spunk of the two MCs. Glad to have my reading mojo back & finish it in a few days! #recentlyread @TheAromaofBooks 🧛♀️
Classic #romance novel. Angst, passion, doubt and the power of second chances. Since a wedding and a honeymoon are involved, it made me remember the anxiety and the relief associated with mine. And although the loose ends got tied up really neatly, I still feel like there was a lesson in this story. #bookspin BINGO progress for July. #recentlyread #nospoilers @TheAromaofBooks ❤️🐴
The tagged 📖 isn‘t even on my list this month 🤭🙃, but this is a #blameLitsy situation of a LIBBY hold that came through. I agree with @TrishB that although well written, it could have been more condensed, but I am interested in the continuation due to the ⚠️ cliffhanger. Also, this particular fantasy school society story was harder to put down. #recentlyread for #bookspin BINGO (free spot). @TheAromaofBooks
👋🏻 Still here, still reading. Amid the 📦. 🙃🎉 A magical moving circus 🎪 full of black and white tents, a competition and a love story, all rolled into one. Intrigue and romance, adventure and interesting storytelling. And yet, amid all of this, although interesting, I wasn‘t 💯% there. 🤔 And I used to love the fantasy genre… 🤷🏻♀️ Still, glad I gave it a shot. #recentlyread #nospoilers #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
🙃😶 still here. Birthday girl is a bit distracted this month! But this find was an absolute delight. Courthouse drama like the best of them, and a questionable career choice becoming so much more, this eccentric cast of characters was a pleasure to read about for #bookspin BINGO! #recentlyread #courtroom #nospoilers @TheAromaofBooks ❤️🤩🎉👨⚖️
First book to check off from the July #bookspin BINGO board is the first book rented from LIBBY. Reads much like a cozy mystery, with a little town, some murders and a dedicated, interesting cast of characters that work hard for justice and an answer against corruption. I loved the setting, and would join the society in a heartbeat. Also, I want to visit that bookstore!! #recentlyread 4.5⭐️ @TheAromaofBooks 📚❤️💙
⚠️🙃 This is neither a June nor a July book, as I finished the last couple of pages July 1st. 🤦🏻♀️ Still, it reads like a high fantasy tale. An unlikely MC, an even unlikelier hero and a plot twist that *almost* made me throw the book across the room definitely kept things interesting. Also 🐲🐲. This story continues, so I might as well. #recentlyread #nospoilers #scifi #fantasy #dragons
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs
Thank you for the tag @EadieB
1. The Truth About Animals - Lucy Cooke
2. 👍🏻👍🏻
3. Favorite genre probably sci-fi or mystery
Who else would like to play??
My July ♋️🎉 #bookspin BINGO BOARD. Tagged is one of two LIBBY LOANS for the month, and although it‘s neither of the numbers this one is due 🔜 so it‘s where I will start. Thank you random.org for the adventure and @TheAromaofBooks for creating it! #tbr #bookspinbingo
A little late, but here is my #bookspin #doublebookspin BINGO list for July! A lot of these books will look familiar, as I have packed the vast majority of my tiny library to move, and so it was good I didn‘t get to them in June. Numbers assigned by random.org Still, there are some new ones, like my #bookspin The Litigators and #doublebookspin anthology book that will be for 3 spaces (short stories). Looking forward to it. @TheAromaofBooks ❤️📚
1. Assistant secretary at a law firm in high school, at the recommendation of my teacher.
2. Mr. Williams - English in HS. Not only did I have a small crush on him 🤭😊, but he was a phenomenal educator and in his class I got to read some of my favorite works
3. My 34th, actually. My then boyfriend and now husband 🥰😍 made my fondest wish come true and had gorgeous roses delivered to me at my office. ❤️❤️
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs
This was a quick breezy read on my Kindle and a last-minute addition to the BINGO board on a free spot. I loved the interaction of the two MCs. I ❤️ a good mystery with an unlikely detective, a book set in a different era and a story filled with intrigue and moral lessons, so this was definitely up my alley and I am going to have to look into the rest of this series. Also (and I hope this isn‘t cheating) I got BINGO!! 🎉🎉 @TheAromaofBooks ❤️📚🎊
Stoned sloths, rabid hyenas, scavenging vultures and cuddly pandas all get debunked in this wild, funny and educational romp of a book. Showing that science often got it **very** wrong, before it got it remotely right, this is educational and humorous in the most delightful way. Clever writing and a hefty works cited backs up the authors claims and leaves one 🙃🤔😱🤣. #recentlyread #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks
This might not go so well, but I discovered LIBBY and I can borrow digital books from my library 📚 and have them sent to my Kindle (or read right on the app)!! As I need a shake-up I decided to add the tagged book in my free spot. #bookworm #kindle #electroniclibrary #newin 😻😻 @TheAromaofBooks
It sure has been a journey in my #bookspin BINGO board. The latest foray was to Ireland 🇮🇪🍀 and a widow having to navigate life having lost her other half. Being recently married, the thought is unbearable, but this is told in such a quiet, atmospheric and painterly way, that it was enjoyable. Her choices (the good & the bad), her children and the growth in the characters was well done. Life moves on. #recentlyread #nospoilers @TheAromaofBooks
Have you ever had a book sit, you pick it up and then you ask yourself why you waited so long to take this journey? Well, that happened with my #bookspin book my first month of BINGO 🤯🥰 Told in an atmospheric way from the perspective of the victim, this poignant and transformational psychological journey is the retelling of grief, loss, hope and moving on. I do wish the killer suffered more because he made me 😡. #recentlyread @TheAromaofBooks
Happy to report progress on the #bookspin BINGO in combining regular 📖 and 🎧📖 to get to the end. An honest and unflinching (yet personal and sweeping) narrative of the challenges and triumphs of the early LDS church this shows the resilience despite prosecution, the unity despite opposition and the strength to see a 💒 built and the foundation of Zion. It gave me perspective, and a deeper understanding. #doublespin @TheAromaofBooks ❤️🙏🏻
An accidental #littlefreelibrary find is the best find. #newin #minibookhaul #camebackwithabook #borrowed 💙
