Books like this get devoured in a few days. With my heart in my throat and bated breath, I was turning pages. Terms like MASCAL and napalm are now seared in my brain. This book was amazing. I found the idea of augmented veins fascinating (as well as the powers that come with it) and the espionage associated with the MC force-joining the team for training, and the development of the main couple (no spoilers). I love these books for the action and the camaraderie, the world building and the adrenaline rush, but even more so these quiet moments of reflection from Drizzt in the beginning of a section should never be overlooked because they add a deeper layer of emotion. Hands down ended up the favorite of this series, so far. But I was so angry (confused?) at first. I didn‘t expect the dark twist (perhaps I should have?) and was so angry at Tamlin! But the city was a shock, and her growth was inspiring. And I must say Rhysand is a surprise.
