My #CastTheDie list for #HauntedShelf is made up of all seasonal titles & mostly ARCs & #BOTM so I might get more of my massive piles of each read! 😉
I made the tagged book my lucky pick because it‘s been on my #TBR for ages, was a #Roll100 pick I didn‘t get to & I own the second in the series too. Can‘t wait to see what the dice say! 🎃👻

Not for me!! V graphic in a trying to be funny way, but it was just gross. Both sexually and violently explicit, including some of my least favorite 🌶️ language. Wasn‘t my type!
This was a #blamelitsy read but hilariously was something a coworker was reading at the same time and so has now become an office by-word. I liked it! Dual narrators, good banter, fresh premise. Did I mention the male narrator has an Irish accent in the audiobook? 😂
About serial killers who kill other serial killers and fall in love via a serial-killing-competition, so consider for your October reading pleasure if you need some raunch.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ This book was different! I loved the narrators for the #audiobook version and feel they added a lot to the entire reading experience. From the git go, with the trigger warnings, it was quickly obvious that this was not a book for the faint of heart or the prudish. It would include lots of violence, loads of sex, plus an immense amount of descriptive and explicit language. And that it did, in addition to heaps of snarky humor! ⤵️
The banter and romance were good, but the plot was meh. I didn‘t seem to love it as much as many other people, but I did still enjoy it, mostly. I‘d like to read the other two at some point, but I won‘t be rushing to them.
I hesitated on this book because of the hype it received… well I can now say I really shouldn‘t have.. it was a great plot with really good characters … I enjoyed reading it and look forward to the other book in this series … also I really hope that Austin Butler plays Butcher in the movie 🤗
I only read one of my own physical books this month 😞Hopefully August is more.

I would like to formally introduce my new hammock chair; currently holding my next read just in case I ever get to start it tonight 😤😜!
Wow, what a wild ride!!! Two serial killers hunting serial killers and making a game of it. This book was intense and very spicy!! Several times I was thinking oh no that did not just happen!!😳 I am horrified by cookies and cream ice cream now too!! (Iykyk) Great suspenseful read and I throughly enjoyed it!!
Two serial killers bond over murder and their annual game, eventually falling in love and trying for a normal-ish life until a previous kill comes back to bite them in the ass.
I loved the humor and the backwardness of rooting for the serial killers.
Some of the dialogue was terrible and, while I‘m no prude, some of the spice went a beyond my comfort level.
Meh, I really enjoyed the first half, it was like a twisted romcom, the banter made me laugh and the gore was fun but the smut was really bad and I found myself skipping past it. The second half dragged a bit but that could be just me losing interest tbh. Nice twist at the end I didn‘t see coming tho. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ would have been better without the smut
Overcome with FOMO after positive Litten reviews I read these back to back guffawing out loud at some of the entertaining killers‘ scenarios. I should have put some time between the two since I enjoyed elements of B1 more than B2. I‘ve adapted to spice in my reading but these exceed my limits on what I find entertaining - how to unread the B2 epilogue 😳. I‘m going with a so-so but I‘ll still likely read B3 for the youngest brother‘s story.
📚📚📚📚📚 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Loved this dark romantic comedy about two serial killers and their annual competition/love story. Pretty funny banter in some places, exciting moments of actions and some seriously f*cked-up dessert options 😉
I finished this the other day :) It felt good to be able to sit down and read a book! I have been so busy with work/school/health stuff. Anyway, I picked this one up because I just saw it everywhere, and --- boy did it not disappoint I really really enjoyed it. 💀🥩🐦⬛

I loved most of it:
1. The premise—serial killers who take out bad guys.
2. Rowan reminded me of Cassidy from Preacher, whom I love!!
3. The weirdest meet-cute EVER!
4. The humor and dialogue worked for me.
Weirdo that I am, I was fine with the eye-gouging and cannibalism, but the sex scenes were TMI! I don‘t think I‘m a puritan—I feel like there are other women who read those passages and said not no, but hell no! Overall, I enjoyed it!
Just finished this one yesterday. It was so good! I listened to it in audio and it was amazing! Dual narrators and they were perfect 🤩 I wasn‘t sure about this book at first, but I‘m so glad I read it!
I was immediately captivated by this book because of the author's attention to detail. Weaver's words perfectly craft a world of sights, sounds, and smells of 19th century London in your imagination. The atmosphere is impressively heavy, packed with tension and intrigue. Weaver has created a character with resilience and tenacity, and I found myself cheering her on the whole time....

Here is my tbr for July! Hopefully I can get some reading done this month. #bookspintbr #bookspinbingo #roll100 #readyourkindle
5⭐️ That start was a bit alarming but I loved the story overall. The characters were incredible and I loved their growth, both together and separately. I also didn‘t see the twist coming, which was nice.
Up next. I'm probably going to give my brain whiplash going from a sweet 1960s romance to a contemporary serial killer romance.🙃
This dedication is perfect. ??
"For those of you who read the trigger warnings and said “Accidental cannibalism?! Count me in!” This one's for you."
This is terrible, like comically awful. The fact that the author mentions Rodin paintings toward the beginning was probably a good indication that this was not for me. I mean, obviously read it anyway. But still.

My top book for May was Butcher and Blackbird 🖤

Loved! A serial killer love story, yes, please! I admit I didn't think this book was going to be nearly this good.
Two serial killers who find each other and play murder games, fantastic. Just don't eat while reading it, especially no ice cream 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I realize I haven‘t posted in like a year, but if you fallow me on IG you know I‘ve been busy. Even though we moved in over a year ago now, it still very much feels like our new home, and no, I‘m not entirely unpacked yet. Still doing lots of projects though! One thing we really love about living in this little village is our neighborhood independent bookstore, The Golden Bee. It‘s such a happy space and we absolutely LOVE going there! #Bookhaul
⭐️⭐️ Body horror romance? I‘m not sure what provoked me to choose this as my BOTM. The pretty cover? Idk, but I have major regrets. Vigilantes who hunt and kill serial killers, but who themselves are also serial killers. So dumb. That said, I liked the characters well enough, but maggots should never be present in the opening scene. I repeat: Don‘t set the tone with maggots. Barf. Why did I read this?!
Cute! Not sure if I‘ll continue the trilogy, but it was a fast and entertaining read!
Ooh boy! This one is dark, spicy, and one of a kind. Two serial killers who murder serial killers meet, fall in love, and try to figure out a way to make each other happy, even if healthy isn‘t in the cards. Fascinating characters, dark themes, and a meet cute you‘d never imagine add up to a genre I didn‘t know existed-romantic horror? While I had to skip a couple of gross sections (read the content warnings!) this was a great read! #BookspinBingo
Grabbing a few chapters at soccer practice. This book is a hot mess.
Call me crazy but this book about serial killers who fall in love has endearing characters who you root for. Some crazy trigger warnings…and it will possibly cause you to skip cookies and cream ice cream for a bit 😝 IYKYK. Spicy and fun and definitely up for book 2. #BOTM
Book 11 of 2024
I rated this book 4 stars. I thought it was amazing but I didn‘t feel super connected with the characters and I didn‘t like the last couple “break up” chapters. I loved the murder and the games they played with each other.

Two professional killers. Enemies to lovers. Not-so-accidental cannibalism.
What sounds like a recipe for disaster is actually the perfect setup for a hilarious serial-killer romance.💀❤️🔥
4.5 ⭐—a great read for fans of dark comedy!

5 🌟! I honestly wasn't going into this one with any really high expectations. Whilst it is dark and there are a few ewww serial killer moments...it ended up being this impossibly amazing slow burn spicy and I mean spicy romance between two really broken people. Highly recommend this one! #LittensLoveRomance #bookspin @thearomaofbooks
This was quirky, fun, yet odd and smutty. As far as the scenarios go they aren‘t totally believable, but if you throw all that out the window you can really appreciate the creativity and uniqueness of this dark romance. I also liked the playlist that was included and found some great songs on there. Last third of the book is pretty much completely smut and a bizarre and unnecessary 3rd act conflict lol 3/5 stars
This is one of those books that was a solid pick until I got to the sex scenes. The story was fun, in a ghoulish sort of way. The two MCs were likable enough. And I don't mind sex in books. But the dialogue during sex was so over the top cringey. I skipped an entire chapter just to avoid reading more of it. In a book with cannibalism and eye removal, I was gagging during the sex parts. 🤮
It‘s a snowy day here in Michigan‘s thumb coast so spending some time with the a new read, a heated blanket, and a (very large but yet very warm) puppy who decided she HAD to use my chair to watch the snow fall.
A ✨soundtrack✨ for books needs to become more popular imo. Can‘t wait to dig in and tune out!
“Being a serial killer who kills serial killers is a great hobby…”
I hated this. I found it to be poorly written, and it just dragged on and on and on. I hated the characters, and the banter, and the flirting. The plot jumped over months, and we missed huge chunks of their relationship evolving. Plus, Sloan and Rowan sounded exactly alike, and I had to constantly check whose POV each chapter was supposed to be. I seem to be in the minority on hating this book, though, so if you're a fan of dark romance, try it
Is it going to win any literary awards? No.
Did I enjoy the hell out of it? Absolutely.
The audio was FANTASTIC. It was funny and not nearly as gross as I was led to believe (though there were definitely a few gross things).
This book had unbelievable likable characters! I really loved them, even secondary characters. I didn't expect liking the main characters xD
This was a bit gory but still light & fun. I loved this pecualiar mixture :D The beginning was a bit off, but soon this really hooked me. And I loved everything after that point.
#SeriesLove2024
I chose this ‘romance‘ as a break from thrillers and the thought of serial killers falling in love had me intrigued. By god, it‘s giving romance, thriller, comedy, and smut! This book will have you fanning yourself, giggling, panicked, and in dark, twisted love 🖤
Soooo 🤔 I loved the dual POV audio for this book and I now have to hunt down more books with Joe Arden but that‘s about all I liked. I might have DNF if was reading the physical book. Neither character was believable as a serial killer. The spicey parts made me cringe and I just felt that having so many people in their lives knowing what they did really under cut the element of two lonely people vibe.
