Finished this tonight. Initially I read it, then put it aside, then picked it up again, etc. As usual, I need to sit on the book before i review it here. I am glad I read it.

Post WWII 1950s. Quinn‘s novel opens with a scene of a dead body in a DC women‘s boarding house. How did this happen?Who committed the deadly deed? The house became a home for a found family when Grace March moved into the top floor. She initiated Thursday night shared pot-luck dinners & overtime these eclectic women became a bonded,tight-knit group. The house was a character in itself, coming alive when the women move in.

Yesterday was tough, my sister got into a car accident. She is doing okay & luckily no one else was hurt. Did pretty well in April!!! but tagged is holding me back a bit. Managed to get to chapter 34. Hopefully can push through it in May. Very much a tell not show dense writing style & there is an abundance of information.

I could not get into the tagged book. DNF for me even though very short.
20 - Started out very promising but enemies to lovers fizzled quickly. The “tension“ felt swept under the rug but atmospherically was fantastic.
4 - Hurt to mark that low since I devoured the first in the series. Excruciatingly slow, then nonstop last 10%. FMC still pissing me off but Blakes development 😍!!!!
A pick me up afternoon coffee & Agatha Christie to read on this dreary, rainy day. #ChristieCapers #April

These poems were translated by Jane Kenyon with Vera Sandomirsky Dunham in 1985. They are included in her book, Collected Poems, which is how I was introduced to this Russian poet.
