This was probably one of my favourites in the will Trent series because we got to know more about Angie. She was always a mystery that just popped in and out but having her be the center of the story was actually super interesting!

Never did figure out for sure who the kept woman was supposed to be; lots of options. This was a very violent story. Will and Sarah are called into the scene of a violent death that has all the earmarks of Angie. The case puts serious strains on their relationship. Soft pick

My last #serieslove2024 this Slaughter particularly filled with horrible people doing horrible things . But I liked it! Bad reading year for me, I usually read 90-100 books , I even missed my abbreviated Goodreads goal of 75 . 😞Still, Litsy & reading gives me joy, I‘ll be sticking with that in the new year, less focused on goals. #OutWithTheOldInWithTheNew #20in4

This was even better the second time around.
I should really read my favourite books more often.
Previously my rage towards Angie blinded me to her life, what she's been through and why she became the Angie we all hate. But this time around I'm really appreciating Slaughter's character development and background. I mean the why behind Angie totally makes sense. This truly is a gift of Slaughter.

With the discovery of a murder at an abandoned construction site, Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is brought in on a case that becomes much more dangerous when the dead man is identified as an ex-cop. Studying the body, Sara Linton—the GBI‘s newest medical examiner and Will‘s lover—realizes that the extensive blood loss didn't belong to the corpse. Sure enough, bloody footprints leading away from the scene…

Bk3 of August was finished a week or more ago. I am still trying to read even if I‘m not posting here, struggling with life a bit still. My daughter just bought me two new books as a gift, including the latest in this Will Trent series so I‘m powering through the rereads to get to it. Another top entry by Slaughter, this one centres on Angie, Wills hateful wife. She def knows how to write damaged women. #SeriesLove2024 #BacklistReadathon

I don‘t think anyone does twists and turns betters than Slaughter.

Book Angie is horrible, and things reach a point in this novel where I‘m just as mad at Will for enabling her behavior as I am at Angie. That aside, this is classic Karin Slaughter - violent, graphic, and unputdownable.
Too many violent and dark themes throughout the book for my personal liking. A heart racing mystery lures you in to keep on reading. Twisted, but that‘s to be expected with Karin slaughter. A great read if you enjoy this genre

Bk14 of July & Bk6 of #JubilantJuly #readathon is done. This one was an Angie novel, so of course I felt like punching someone through most of it! Will & Sara are called to a scene with a dead ex cop & a lot of blood. When Angie is identified as the possible source of the blood, Will goes nuts. The story unfolds with NBA stars, asshole agents & illegitimate daughters just to name a few. Another excellent thriller. #BookspinBingo #SeriesLove2023

This the 8th book in the Will Trent series. It follows the murder of an ex-cop at an abandoned construction site, where Trent and his team find evidence that links the crime to his troubled past. The novel is a seamless blend of twisty police procedural and ingenious psychological thriller, that explores themes of love, loss, and redemption.

Excellent book! But then, of course…Angie! I understand she‘s part of what makes the series “interesting”, but OMG!! She‘s such a terrible person! Anyway, there was a lot of interesting information revealed about Will and Angie‘s past. Definitely a must read. #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

Bloody footprints leading away from the scene indicate there is another victim, who will die soon if she isn‘t found.

I picked this up with a handful of Karin Slaughter‘s other books for a couple bucks at a library sale a while back. This is the first one of her books that I‘ve ever read. I don‘t know what I was expecting, but all the talk about rape and child sexual abuse really made this a difficult read for me personally.

I couldn't stop listening to this one once I started. Slaughter really brought out some of her best techniques in this book and the twists just kept coming from the beginning to the end. What a wild ride!
I didn't think I could dislike Angie's character more than I already did but this book proved that theory wrong.
Such a great thriller.

Here‘s hoping August brings a summer slowdown so I can concentrate on something other than series reads during the week. Made some serious progress on the Will Trent series this week by reading 3 back to back to back. I had almost forgotten just how damn good Slaughter is. But now I need to take a break from looney Lena and asshole Angie. #SeriesRead2021 x 3.

Pretty happy to be finished with this.. entertaining but didn't do too much me.

“Trust me, Will. Life always makes you pay for your personality.” Amanda gave him a rueful smile. “It catches up with her every single second of the day.”
Obviously, one of my favorite authors is Karin Slaughter. I enjoyed reading this. If you like disturbing dark crime, complicated characters, and full of action stories, then WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! START W/ THE GRANT COUNTY SERIES!

Love the Will and Sarah novels. Again, Karin Slaughter does not disappoint.

one book down!
@TheAromaofBooks

More crime than mystery, but what an absolute ride! SO excited to have more will Trent books ready to go 😬😬

If I thought June was late 😅 July is posted on the second last day 😅 this is a bit optimistic but I have faith I can catch up in August 😅 there is some I‘m really looking forward too here! I also need to, so I can buy Jane harpers new one out in September!

I love a quiet, lazy Saturday morning! I get some reading time knowing I don‘t have a thing planned today besides taking care of my little guy and enjoying some down time. 🥰 Spending the day with Will Trent is definitely a bonus!

My first boohaul in ages! Second one is coming soon though because I couldn't find the ones I went looking for. Usually I go in and pick up books for my summer holiday but this year I'm taking my holiday in smaller parts so I decided to do this now. My first time around the city center since March. It felt soo good! 😊

Thank you @HarperCollins for the book. It was a wonderful surprise and I can‘t wait to read it.

I almost quit this one, but I'm so glad I didn't because if you can handle the horrors, this is one of he best written books. I stayed up way too late finishing it, it just kept getting better and better.
As well as the main story being brilliant, the back stories and character development among the main cast was very good and illuminating. Angie Polaski is one of my all time favourite characters; she's up there with Lisbeth Salander.

Despite The Kept Woman being number eight in series, I had no problem picking up the backstories and characters. Karin Slaughter writes them as if you knew them your whole life!
Detective Will Trent is on the case of a missing woman and murder at an abandoned construction site. Medical examiner Sara Linton is at his side, (not just professionally), but she‘s not the only woman with eyes on Will.
Way to pick up the pace with the second half!

#TBR books from the library. I‘m currently addicted to #teamslaughter and been meaning to read the merciless 📚

#AyUpAugust #Day8 #DontMarryHer Reading The Will Trent series by Karin Slaughter, you really wish someone had stood up & screamed at Will “DONT MARRY HER!” as soon as he thought about marrying Angie Polaski aka Devil Woman. This character is one of the most devious, manipulative, twisted & thoroughly evil character of either sex I‘ve ever read. Kudos to Ms Slaughter for her ability to believably write the most damaged characters.

I'm on a Karin Slaughter kick it seems. This one was a bit slow in the beginning but really picked up. Not my favorite by her, but still a great read!

I actually had no idea that I had so many different grey books. All different shades, but all grey.

How did I not know about Karin Slaughter before now? I grabbed this off Kindle Unlimited despite it being #8 in a series and just jumped right in. Maybe now I need to go back and read books 1 - 7.

I got to meet Karin Slaughter! She is so nice! I also got her new audio book (tagged) and a tote which she signed! 💜

Some of these honestly look brand new to me. I have never had such good luck at a library bag sale! 😁

March has been a Karin Slaughter month. Three of my reads have been Slaughter on audio. And folks...this is the best Slaughter yet. Jacked up beyond all reason. Truly warped. Psychological thriller + police procedural and edge of your seat action, with all the characters in the Will Trent series involved. Highly recommended.

I‘m planning to finish this book today. Will Trent is another favorite of mine. Don‘t tell my husband but my fictional boyfriends are nothing like him. #Booknerd #bookaddict #bookaddiction #mystery #series #fictionalboyfriends.

This has been my favorite Will Trent yet. An engaging and suspenseful crime drama. And Kathleen Early‘s narration is fantastic.

I am loving this one! One of my favorite Will Trent books. And the narration is spot on.
