January: Calendar Girl Book 1 | Audrey Carlan
28 posts | 23 read | 1 reading | 5 to read
“Fresh, fun, and unbelievably hot, Audrey Carlan's Calendar Girl series will have you falling in love over and over again and craving the next installment." –Meredith Wild, #1 NYT Bestselling Author Synopsis It’s really simple. I needed money. A lot of money. One million dollars to be exact. The amount didn’t matter. All that mattered is that at the end of that price tag held my father’s life. No money. No life. The time limit was one year. On January 1st I had to pay up or my Father was going to be killed. When you’re faced with an ultimatum like this, you do whatever you have to do. And that’s exactly what I did. The job…Exquisite Escorts. My role, serve as high priced arm candy to anyone that can afford the $100,000 price tag for a month of my company. Sex is optional (for me) and a 20% increase on the price. *** Mia Saunders just barely escaped a paltry life back home in Las Vegas until she gets the call that her Father has been beaten to within an inch of his life for not paying his gambling debt. Problem is, the lone shark is her lousy, ruthless ex-boyfriend. Another guy in a long line of men she’d fallen head over heels for. Not anymore. Mia’s mission is simple. Serve as a high-priced escort for her Aunt’s company and pay monthly against her Father’s bad debt. A month with a rich man who she doesn’t have to sleep with if she doesn’t want to? Easy money. At least that’s the way it was supposed to go. Each installment in the Calendar Girl Serial will release every month throughout 2015. The stories will feature Mia, told from her perspective as she continues her journey as an escort to twelve clients in twelve different locations. Warning: This book is designed for audiences 18+ due to language and graphic sexual content.

Finally doing my #JanuaryWrapUp!
I didn‘t the start the year going through my exact TBR list, but that‘s ok; I‘ve decided I can‘t get upset about that!
I read one from my #Booked2019 list (I‘d Rather Be Reading), and read a whole load of review copies, and learned a lot about moles.
I also went to #ALAMW here in #Seattle and accumulated about 170 books for me and for the school library. That‘s a lot of reviewing.
Several 4-5 ⭐️ books this month!

StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego Great job!! 📚💕 5mo
gibblr What was your favorite of the ones pictured? 5mo
kamoorephoto @gibblr It‘s got to be #SongOfTheDead! 💀💗 Only slightly biased because I‘m in the acknowledgments and Baroness Katerina (in the book) is named after me. Very close second was Lady Smoke! 5mo
kamoorephoto @gibblr Oh and ‘A Danger to Herself and Others‘ was great too...a haunting, emotional read. 5mo
gibblr I‘m legit blind and didn‘t see the number 1 on the book. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Also you have such a huge role, that‘s amazing!! Is the author a friend? I really like the title of Danger. Prob gonna add that to my tbr! 5mo

Thought I‘d see how I did against my January reading plan. Read 11/18 of the books on my plan, and was part way through two of them when the month came to an end. Also Read 9 which were not on my original list. Shows I don‘t always keep to a plan. 🤣

I have seen a lot of people post "monthly summaries" and thought that I would try that this year.

To be honest it might only last one month ?

Hope January was a good reading month for you too!

Daisey I wasn‘t sure if I would keep it up when I first started, but I‘ve found I really enjoy taking a look back at what I‘ve read during the month. It was also interesting at the end of the year to compare monthly favorites with books that truly stuck with me for months. 6mo

January Books! I feel terrible that I‘m bailing on A Very Large Expanse Of Sea but it‘s just not clicking with me right now. 😞

#JanuaryStats #2019RoundUp

A little hard to see but I had a great reading month. Verity was my only 5⭐️ read, most others earned a respectable 4⭐️ rating. I hope the rest of 2019 continues to rack up the reads.

Day 2 - #2019readinggoals #anewchapter

My goals for 2019 is to read 200 books and to read a mystery book published for every year for 100 years.

#January2019 - These are the books I hope to read in Jan.

kplovesbooks Ohhh that's a really cool idea about the mystery ones!! Love that! 7mo
vkois88 I love that plan! It sounds so cool. Can't wait to see what you choose! 7mo

Cinfhen Awesome goal... are you reading any author/ any mystery ??? Love that idea!! 7mo
EadieB @Cinfhen I am actually doing one mystery and another one for fiction. Just to see if I can do the 100 years in each category. Don‘t think I‘ll finish both categories but will see how far I can go. Andrew is keeping track on LibraryThing for a group list of all our friends. 7mo

Definitely not I expected. Of course it is simple story, but besides the 'Mr. Grey' story, it is a heart warming story about a young woman who searches her own position in life.

Some good looking men are mentioned in the book aswell, is that a problem? I don't think so... 😂😂😂

julesG Isn't there a book (series) that is called Calendar Girl? Is this it? My friend keeps telling me about it and I haven't checked it out yet. 13mo

Boyfriend isn't at home, so I might finish this one pretty soon.

In January alone I read 5 books that easily match or surpass the quality of ones I chose for my 17 in '17 picks...The only possible outcomes now are that the rest of the year is a real let-down, reading-wise, or I have a super tough time picking 18 as my faves come December. 😳 #youshouldreadthesebookstho

A quick January recap. 5/50 of my reading challenge.

The Raven Boys was my favourite, a very pleasant surprise. The story was not what I was expecting but so much more! And also Carry On ❤️ it was awesome. Big disappointment, Furyborn. Unfortunately I don't get the hype.

So I didn‘t finish too many books in January but I‘ve got quite a few I‘m in the middle of so hopefully I‘ll be back on track for my #mountTBR challenge in February.
Life has kind of gotten in the way of reading this month after I returned to work from maternity leave but things are settling down now so hopefully more reading time for me!

Phlamboyant The struggle is real. My reading took a major dip after returning to work from maternity leave. 1y
LoveToReadLiveToRead @Phlamboyant yep, work is a major inconvenience really! 1y
Phlamboyant @LoveToReadLiveToRead I though maybe I could read during my pump breaks, but that was all kinds of fail. 🤣 1y

A great first month, but behind schedule for #LitsyPassport (aiming to read 1 book a month), and started more series than I finished or got up to date on! 😳😂 Whoops!
Will have to target these in February.

Feeling fantastic with 10 completed this month! It's a great start to 2017 for me - especially with a non-bookish full-time, crazy career, and life! Hoping to match or double that amount in February. Really super excited for the new Neil Gaiman being released next week! (FYI - Signed pre-order copies available for sale on The Strand's website!) 😊
