A family saga bouncing back and forth through time about 3 Palestinian women living in America, trying to keep the customs of their culture but wanting more choices for themselves and their daughters.

Rated very highly on Goodreads and all my friends loved it but I found some of it predictable and repetitive. Maybe my expectations were too high? Still it‘s worth a read if you enjoy stories of women trying to overcome oppression.

I love Rachel Harrison horror so full disclosure before I pronounce my love and high praises for this horror that examines how women‘s experiences are often not believed. Definitely recommend for spooky season. #botm

I always look forward to picking up one of Rachel Harrison‘s feminist-tinged horror novels at this time of the year! “Play Nice” oozes rich symbolism and thematic content that you can sink your teeth into (i.e. how trauma manifests and refuses to stay hidden, or how easily society labels women crazy, unlikable, or unworthy of empathy), but it‘s also just a damn good time. #BOTM

I devoured this book. Even with the more serious subject matter, I found it hard to put down. I loved the rawness and realness of both Logan and Mattie.

This book… It made me suppress giggles while reading it in public. It surprised and delighted me; it held up a mirror to me. It made me thoughtful.
