Characters were likable but at some point Jasmine felt a bit immature and at the same time I was irritated by Ashton's age crisis - he was just couple years older than Jasmine after all.

This was as fun as I thought this would be - really cozy and made me feel good.

Romance wasn't developed really well and I didn't relate to it. There was also unnecessary drama and it took too long to get over.

This was a good book. It was the first book of a series, and I definitely will read the second one. Well-rounded characters with flaws, and I love the Native American legends in this one. #SeriesLove23 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView 2 more bingos on my #ISpyBingoMarch @Clwojick @TheAromaofBooks and another bingo for the #MarchMadnessReadingChallenge @DieAReader @GHABI4ROSES @Andrew65 #LitsyLoveReads

Characters were brilliant, I especially loved Mia, Naev and Aelius. There were still many characters that you knew almost nothing about. But overall the cast was awesome, so was the atmosphere too. This was really mysterious, dark and unique world.

I have mixed feelings about the writing. Sometimes I loved it and it was fun & clever but sometimes I got tired it being so flowery.

This book had many good twists and I loved how they surprised me.

TheSpineView This is on my TBR list. Maybe I should move it up. Great job 4d

Nix was likable main character and it was easy to relate to her. I didn't love the romance. It didn't have a big role in this book but I still wasn't a fan of it.

This had really unique atmosphere and setting felt vivid.

The writing was a bit flowery, sometimes I really liked it but sometimes I felt it tiresome.

The plot itself was solid and fast-pacing, but I felt that this still dragged at some points.

CrowCAH One of my fav books! I agree, a bit slow at points. But I fell for the romance 💘 The second book is worth the duology! 4d

I liked the characters even though some of them left me a bit cold. There was still a nice mixture of them and that gave a nice atmosphere and fleshed out the world. The world was amazing, I really loved some of the creatures. Team hobgoblins!

This made me laugh now and then but the story dragged after the beginning. The last part had more action and was more interesting.

CrowCAH A good review! Glad you enjoyed it! I agree the beginning did drag a bit, but then it started to pick up the pace. 2d

I rooted for Lia and I loved Pauline too! Kaden and Rafe weren't that interesting and could have been fleshed out more. I also adored motherly Berdi, she was was awesome.

I loved Terravin, it was unbelievable beautiful and peaceful village. Otherwise this world was quite cruel and ugly.

I was surprised how unique this felt. This made me feel and the story gave some surprises too.

The usual all action thriller with Ben Hope- where does he hide all the bodies!
Liked the back story of Masada.
#serieslove23 7/27- still a long way to go in this series.

Andrew65 Love this series. One I‘m actually up to date on and waiting impatiently for the next one. Well done 👏👏👏 1w

I loved Selina, she was tough but at the same time had a good heart. Luke was likable too, but not as interesting as Selina. I also adored Ivy & Harley and the group's chemistry and friendship.

This had the same kind of atmosphere than Gotham tv-series!

I was surprised! I always love that and somehow I was really blind - or blinded - and didn't guess where things were going. I really loved the ending for that reason.

TheSpineView Well done! 2w

#BookReport Enjoyed my top two books for #SeriesLove23. Finished Adult Assembly early. It was ok. Maus was the winner of the week. I read Tortilla Flat for AuthorAMonth and it was ok. I‘ve started The Red Pony. Loving Stone Blind on audio and enjoying Tales from the Cafe. Haven‘t made much progress in Garden or Black Cake.

TheSpineView Doing great 2w

Nona the Ninth | Tamsyn Muir

Mehso-so

I liked Nona: her childlikeness was lovable, but I was a bit disappointed how amnesia was used again in this series.

I loved post-apocalyptic world in this book.

Writing is sometimes fun and clever but those sentences are buried deep between unnecessary babbling to really shine out.

You could see some plot at least now and then. But this also felt a filler because there were mundane scenes that didn't get the story move forward.

TheSpineView Well done! 2w
Ruthiella I tend to love the filler in this series, but I‘ve not read Nona yet. 🤔 2w
PageShifter @Ruthiella I think you might love this then! This was my favorite of the series - I loved Nona's “voice“. 2w
