1. That you have no idea what can be motivating people‘s unpleasant behavior. I‘ve worked with kids whose disruptive, defiant behavior drove me crazy, but when I learned what was going on in their lives, I wondered how they had the energy to even get out of bed in the morning. 😢
2. I‘m a high-school English teacher turned librarian.

“Fashionably late” to the party—thanks for the tag, @GinaKButler !

1. I have an affinity for the Revolutionary War-era and early America.
2. First read of 2024 was a biography of P.T. Barnum
3. I‘ve read most of the biggies: War and Peace, Les Mis, A Suitable Boy. But I think “Clarissa,” which I read last year with the esteemed #Clarissa group, beats them all at circa 1,800 pages.

#wondrouswednesday

GinaKButler I think I‘m going to tackle Clarissa next year. 🫣 2mo
Amiable @GinaKButler I wouldn't read it again, but I'm glad I did it! I liked it better than “Les Mis,“ if that matters. 😃 2mo
Amiable @GinaKButler @Texreader just posted a link that says “Clarissa” is the longest book in the English language! As a fellow committed chunkster, you know you‘ve got to do it now. 😀 2mo
See All 10 Comments
Texreader @Amiable The question I have…is it worth it? Is it a high pick? I‘ve never even heard of it. But I do love my chunksters… 2mo
GinaKButler @Amiable I don‘t know if that‘s a glowing review. Les Mis was definitely not a favorite…😂 2mo
Amiable @GinaKButler Ha ha, I know! That‘s why I threw “Les Mis” into the mix. 😄 Also, have you read this one? I adored it: (edited) 2mo
Amiable @Texreader Is it a “high” pick? I‘d say no. Was it worth it, though? Yes, IMO. For a number of reasons —not the least of which are the bragging rights when you finally finish. 😀 Reading it with the #Clarissa group added a wonderful dimension to the experience— I‘d suggest a buddy read if you do decide to tackle it. 2mo
Texreader @Amiable Very helpful. I‘ll check it out and see if I might be able to stick with it. You‘re the best. Thanks!! 2mo
Amiable @Texreader Check with @Lcsmcat —she created a schedule for us last year that was very manageable. It was basically 50 pages per week, if I recall. We started it in January and completed it in October with group chats every Saturday. I thought that was very helpful in keeping the momentum going. 2mo
Lcsmcat @Texreader If you want the schedule we used last year (and don‘t want to scroll through a years worth of #clarissa tags) send me your email address to mischalynx at msn dot com and I‘ll send it to you. I‘m not sure if it was better the way we did it , in small chunks with breaks, or if powering through would be better. But take friends - it can get dark in there. 😂 2mo

Late to the party…thanks for the tag, @CoverToCoverGirl 😊

1. I don‘t know that I have a favorite time period…I‘ve just been avoiding WWII for a bit. I love historical fiction (and non-fiction) and will read any of it!
2. The first book I started was A Column Of Fire by Ken Follett.
3. Either War and Peace or Les Miserables. 📚

@Eggs

Kelly326 1. No specific time periods, but love reading about times that I know less about. 2. Chenneville by Paulette Jiles. I love her writing, but the story was a little slow for me. 3. Also War and Peace or Les Miserables (edited) 2mo

Eggs Do the mugs hold the stones? 🤣 says the person with jars full of seashells… 6mo
julesG @Eggs No, but some hold bookmarks, others plants and some of the smaller stones. I like to put the stones on the soil in my plant pots; keeps the cats from digging where they shouldn't. 1. We‘re watching YellowJackets & Ted Lasso. We‘ve also been watching The Simpsons (my first time through!) & are on season 13.

2. Fogland Beach in Tiverton, RI. It‘s always quiet, has beautiful beach roses, and it‘s a drive through gorgeous rural farmland to get there - 30 minutes from my house with a homemade ice cream shop & a seafood shack on the way.

3. Scrabble, of course!

#WondrousWednesday

Eggs #2 sounds wonderful 🏝️ And of course Scrabble 💙💙 10mo
Sharpeipup ❤️ Ted Lasso!
Adding Fogland Beach to my list.

monalyisha @Sharpeipup It‘s often used by windsurfers. It‘s got a bit of a breeze - but with summers getting hotter & hotter, I‘m here for it. I have beaches much closer to me but I always make the drive. 10mo

monalyisha @AmyG I‘ve got so many theories about what‘s going on! 🤐 And the soundtrack is killer. 10mo

1. My favorite teacher in high school called me a “quiet leader.” My two favorite literature professors in college argued vehemently over who “discovered” me. My ex once told me that my eyes “look like Australia.” And early in our courtship, my husband said that getting an email from me was like “waking up on Christmas morning and finding a jet pack under the tree.”
2. I wish I could dance like @ thomastaps or @ pamelamelaela. Find them on Insta!

monalyisha @Eggs Do you come up with the questions for #WondrousWednesday on your own or cultivate them from online resources? Either way, they‘re great! Pictured are: my brand-new nephew, a local shop flying a smiley face flag (which always reminds me of my hometown, purportedly where the smiley face was “invented”), my favorite tree at work with its first blooms of the season, & my stinkin‘ adorable little niece (playing dress-up). Chelsea.Poole amazing compliments 😍 I can see why your husband became your husband. AND sweet photos! 11mo
monalyisha @Chelsea.Poole Thanks! I wish you could‘ve seen the little dance he was doing (apropos of nothing) while I read your comment. Wednesdays are my late night at work, so we get to spend peaceful mornings together. It‘s a much-needed breath, halfway through the week! 11mo

IndianBookworm The compliments are sooo wholesome, I can't imagine how sweet you must be! Also, your nephew is super cute!😍 11mo
Eggs @monalyisha Most of the time I pull them out of my a$$ to see if others see/feel things as I do; or just to view a variety of thoughts, preferences, and book/movie recs. But I do search for unique questions for inspiration. Love your photos💞💞Sweet babes💗 11mo

1. Quality not quantity, in relationships and things. And you will be ok and stronger than you think.
2. Plane, not the flight so much as the destinations are more endless.
3. My husband 💯
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs thank you!!

Hahaha always a bit late!
1- you find your love and your tribe- be patient.
2- car, far less anxiety.
3- that‘s a hard one, it probably depends on the decision.

Eggs Thanks for playing 🥰👏🏻 11mo
Sharpeipup Do you have any knee care tips? My joss and I were just talking about this actually. 11mo
Susanita @Sharpeipup 1. STAY ACTIVE! 2. If you have pain that makes you uncomfortable for more than a couple days, see a doctor. 3. Be mindful how you sit (e.g., don‘t have your knee tucked under your butt for hours). 4. Research how to avoid falls. 11mo
