It was okay. I had heard so many good things but it took forever to be interesting. There were a few twists that I wasn‘t expecting but it wasn‘t as exciting as I had hoped.
I started this last night during the grips of my insomnia and let me tell you I ended up staying up all night just to listen! Is moving a little slow but so far so good! Also, I have The Paris Apartment on audiobook in my car and I'm loving that more than any of Foley's other books. Good listening this week.
Book 44🎧 3.5⭐️
This was a long listen (for a typical thriller), 13hrs! But it‘s filled with twists and turns, extortion and lies. Some very cringe moments, untypical of a “lady thriller” 😬
Amy‘s life is turned upside down when Rue, a new woman, moves into her neighborhood and steps in on her lady group. It‘s only a game right?
I got an 8. What about you?
It was a busy weekend in Kentucky as we celebrated our daughter‘s and new son-in-law‘s wedding. I still got a little reading in and finished the tagged book when we got home last night. 👰🏻♀️⛪️🤵🏼♂️
I have so much to do before we head to KY for our daughter‘s wedding!! But I‘m reading this instead. And isn‘t this the prettiest candle?!
Loving this fun #allhallowsreadswap box from my mystery sender! She didn‘t sign the card 😉 thank you to @MaleficentBookDragon for organizing! I can‘t wait to curl up with some hot cocoa, it arrived during our cold snap here in SC and it‘s appreciated!
This was a wild thriller that had me on the edge, not knowing what was going to happen next. Lots of twists. The ending was nuts!
So this was a different kind of drama/thriller than I‘m used to and I mean that in a good way. It had an interesting premise and I was definitely invested in the characters. Was it my favorite? No but it kept my attention and was an easy read.

Book 116
I listened to Never Have I Ever, a blackmail mystery story. There is nothing notable about the writing, but it was compulsively readable! I lost sleep to keep reading. 4.5 ⭐s
139 of 2021. Day 1 book 1 of #SuperSeptember. I really enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful and I couldn‘t put it down. The author did a great job narrating the audiobook.
#readathon
#LittensDressedInBlood Today's prompt is Disturbia, which I chose to interpret as a disturbance in suburbia, but again, there's no wrong way to participate!
I don't have a physical copy of this book, but I own the audio and it's fantastic. An average night at book club takes a turn when the new neighbor shows up, pours even more wine, and suggests a game of Never Have I Ever. Things quickly enter into Disturbia territory!
Meant to post this days ago. I really enjoyed this one, I have listened to the audio book, and half read the hardcover. First, J.J. does an incredible job as a narrator for the audiobook, so I highly recommend listening to it! I‘v seen other reviews saying there was too much going on in this, but I really enjoyed it and especially towards the end I could not put it down! Plus, I thoroughly enjoy her writing style. She has such a way with words.
Noooooot my cup of tea. The style tries too hard, the protagonist is hate-worthy, lots of weird delusional ideas about right and wrong and hangups about sex. Oh and let‘s throw in a casually-handled eating disorder for good measure 🙄
I finished it so I could count it as part of my books for #BFC21 goals - then realized I had met May goals and it won't count for June!! Found this book to be too many plot twists - too unbelievable - too everything.
#20in4 @Andrew65 have 7 hours in - probably just a few more today and very few tomorrow (holiday weekend, good weather, vaccinated and able to visit with people - it's a combination that screams social get togethers over reading)
Help Debbie celebrate 100K with her #GrilloGiveaway! @DebbieGrillo . This Joshilyn Jackson is a treat, too!
🎧 I was on the edge of my seat, there‘s a significant battle of wits.
A few trigger warnings. It‘s an adult thriller.
I was satisfied with the ending.
I had 1 issue. A choice the MC made early on. It bothered me the entire book.
Awesome Antagonist! I wanted to throttle her!
MC felt a little vanilla, not really what she hyped herself to be based on her past.
If you enjoy a fun psychological cat & mouse game 👍🏼
I enjoyed it!
⭐️⭐️⭐️3/4
Wow, this was an excellent audiobook! The author also narrates and she is phenomenal…I kind of want her to narrate all of my audiobooks from now on. While I don‘t necessarily think the main character needed to placate the blackmailer as much as she did (her secrets seemed like the sort of thing that could be dealt with) I am glad she did as it brought about the many shocking twists and turns (some good some 🥺). Recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Big Little Lies meets The Last Mrs. Parrish in this domestic thriller. The dialogue was snappy and intoxicating, and I enjoyed the banter between Amy and Roux.
My biggest complaint is that the blackmail stakes didn't feel that high. I think Amy's relationships wouldn't have had an issue embracing her if she was honest. And she could have easily figured all of it out with a lawyer. But it's a page-turner!

An evening bath! It was lovely until I realized my drain stopper didn't work. But I was too engrossed in the book to realize I was sitting in an empty tub lol
About to dive into my first read of 2021! I've been wanting to read this for a while now, and I have a goal of focusing on books I already own this year.
Such a good book, really enjoyed it. A very clever thriller.
Enjoying a weekend away in the Lake District aswell before Christmas 🥰

A satisfying game of cat and mouse with a twist near the end I didn't see coming!
Thankful for #lmpbc for putting books in my hand that weren't on my radar. 😄 I'll get this sent on shortly @mngraham @TorieStorieS @ameliashley
OMFG! This book is amazing. I love loved it. So many twists and turns. Great characters and a superb ending. Fantastic book I'm gutted I've finished. Definitely one to read 📖🤓
Already on page 26 and I love this book. I love a poignant quote like this, it really makes me think 📖🤔🤓
I'm terrible at guessing twists. But I like it that way, because I'm always shocked! Jackson gets better & better with each book.
⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was so surprised to receive these today! I had figured the round was a covid casualty, but am glad to still have the chance to share in these. I'll try to finish them both in November and send them on! @ameliashley @mngraham @TorieStorieS
😊My favorite sub genres is psychological thrillers 😔 I‘ve never read any Tom Clancy books. #SundayFunday @ozma.of.oz
I‘ve seen mixed reviews on this one so I wasn‘t sure what to think, but I ended up really enjoying the audiobook! +16 points for #TeamSlaughter!

WOWsers! I mean, WOW. The twists and revelations had my mouth on the floor! I really like Joshilyn as a writer. She didn‘t disappoint with the this one. I personally would have preferred not so many issues, but that‘s just me.
Hmmmm.... kind of wanted to stab all the females in this one. Maybe I‘m watching too much horror movies.... oh, what am I saying?!! There‘s no such thing as too much horror movies!!!

Covid has really impacted my ability to handle suspense 🤦🏻♀️I have to put everything suspenseful down all the time. This book got put down a lot 🤣 but I had to pick it right back up because I needed Amy Whey to be okay
It‘s a beautiful day in southern Ontario so I will be reading outside
This was a fun mystery to read from beginning to end, and I was pulling for Amy to be a positive protagonist the whole time. ...However, this book is chalk-full of fat-self-shaming which makes me recommend with reservations.
At first I thought this was going to be a cliche with over-the-top characters & a ridiculous plot, but ended up being surprised. The author was the narrator & she did such a great job of bringing all of the characters to life & giving them a unique voice. Some aspects of the earlier twists are convenient, but it picks up towards the end. You will be drawn into Amy‘s story and root for her. I would read another book by the author.
This book made me so uncomfortable.
The title is, of course, taken from the name of a popular game designed to manipulate people into sharing secrets. It‘s in the same vein as ‘Truth or Dare‘. They create a sense of camaraderie and confession.
I do not like these games.
A very well told story with twists you just do not see coming.
This is my first Joshilyn Jackson novel but I‘m 💯 confident it won‘t be the last!
A very good thriller!
Some early twists were so obvious, I wanted to slap the main character.
But the later ones were pretty explosive.
Also I thought it was very well written.
A so-so thriller. This genre isn‘t one that I normally read. There were lots twists and some spoiler-ish grossness that was unnecessary to the overall story.
I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. Interesting storyline, but something felt lacking in the execution.
