Starting this one finally! 🥰

Enjoyed this one! So much more than your average beach-read, romance novel.

“I think, sometimes, we are simply afraid to need. We‘re afraid that if we ask too much, if we bare our tenderest wounds and show our ugliest sides, we‘ll find out that we aren‘t lovable. That we can only keep the ones we love around us as long as we cost them nothing, create no burden. That, at least I think, is the plight of the people pleaser.”

I don‘t remember where I got this mug, but it is one of my favourites! #bookish

Too much information, not enough action or “mystery” as it was described. This 400 page book could have been written in 200…

The big reveal at the end occurred over 2 pages answering all of the questions in a neat little bow. No climax.

I‘ve heard lots of good things about this series but it fell flat for me.

ME TIME! My wonderful husband is watching our two young girls as I sit in my bedroom and start this one…coffee in hand ☕️

After a really long week and constantly being on the go, it feels so nice to have a little down time for myself.

I might have the unpopular opinion here - but I found this book underwhelming. I really tried to connect with the characters but could not.

However, the detail surrounding the circus aspect was beautifully written so for that, I give it 3 stars.

1. “We Don‘t Talk About Bruno” - Encanto (my kids love this one! And I like to act it out haha)

2. Kaui, Hawaii - I‘ve been once and met many folks who went to vacation there and stayed permanently!

3. A bath and a book (separately - I can‘t read in the tub!)

1. I always have a long “to do” list with two little ones at home; however, I‘m most looking forward to a Mom & Baby group tomorrow AND reading more of tagged book.

2. Lists on the notes section of my phone are helpful. I try to stay organized but it doesn‘t always happen!

3. Somewhere sunny! Hawaii comes to mind. Anyone else in Southwestern Ontario? Lots of grey days here (although a sunny weekend finally!)

Both my girls are asleep, hubby is out and I‘m settled in on the couch reading this one from my own bookshelf (as opposed to buying new or borrowing something else!)

Ugh…so beautifully written. The depth of the main character, Victoria, made me feel like I truly knew her. Like I felt what she was feeling.

My book club chose this one for January and I‘m glad they did. I haven‘t stopped thinking about it since I finished.

I‘m not sure how to rate this one…

Do you ever feel like maybe you just weren‘t in the right mindset? Or you finished a previous book that was just so different and you still had a hangover from it?

I feel like this was what happened to me while I was reading this one.

I will say, interesting premise. Wished there was more of a focus on the main character‘s marriage relationship. But then again, maybe that was the point…

How far would you go to protect your loved ones? Suspenseful, page turner. The whole story takes place over a few days so you really feel like you‘re in the thick of it with these characters.

Funny story: I was talking to my husband about the premise of the book when I was just a couple of chapters in. He guessed the ending and I knew he was right so unfortunately, it wasn‘t a big twist for me. Next time, I won‘t be telling him a thing!! 🤣

It‘s been almost 7 months since my last book! I gave birth to my second daughter in May. So excited to start reading again after a long hiatus. These quiet mornings are lovely.

Ugh - there was so much potential here! Overall, the book was good but the ending fell flat. There‘s still more I wish I knew. Events that occurred seemed to be glossed over without enough detail. Still left wondering what was going through Clare‘s mind in those final moments!?

Definitely a page turner - an easy, quick read!

BUT - did anyone else notice the number of spelling/grammatical errors in the text? SO MANY!!

Felt this one! Mom guilt is real.

I wasn‘t sure what to expect from this book - my SIL passed it along to me after she read it. I thought it was just going to be a romance type novel, I was wrong…

The depth of emotion that comes from these last chapters and the author‘s note floored me. I was in tears. I felt heartbreaking clarity in my own life and from the experiences I have endured. I felt especially for my Mother and even my Father.

Easy read but heavy.

We make a point of going to the library as often as we can! Today we picked up a stack of books for my daughter AND I got the tagged book for me! I‘m a sucker for Lisa Gardner books…

I bailed on this one! The synopsis was all completed within the first few chapters and it just didn‘t keep me interested.

A coworker of mine once said that after he‘s read the first 100 pages and if he‘s not captivated to read more, he moves on to the next one. “There‘s plenty more books to choose from!” he said. I follow this now too as it makes perfect sense to me!

Curious to know at what point you bail on a book?

Although the book kept me interested during the first few chapters, I felt it dragged on with no new information on the characters or the plot. I believe the author could have expanded on the characters more as I ended the book with lots of questions!

The ending was abrupt and had no real climax to it. I turned the last page with a feeling of indifference. I was surprised that this book was given such glowing reviews…

Started this one yesterday. I‘m intrigued but I can‘t help but notice a number of typos in the text!! 😩

Ok - so this was my first read after an almost year hiatus! (Re: baby!!) Anyway, I found it to be a good, easy read and a page turner.

However, I do feel as though some information could have been elaborated on a bit more.

In the end, I didn‘t see the twist though suspected that something was off as things were seemingly beginning to wrap up…

It‘s been over a year since I‘ve been on Litsy or even read a book. To be fair, I‘ve been kind of busy - gave birth to my beautiful daughter last October! I‘m finally ready to jump back into reading so figured I‘d start off with an easy read.

This book was written by Fran in the 90‘s and, being a huge fan of The Nanny all my life, I have ALWAYS wanted to read it.
Finally took advantage of Amazon Prime and got me a copy. I can‘t put it down! Fran is amazing and has gone through some pretty terrible stuff in life yet - she continues to be such a positive, funny lady! ❤️

If you are familiar with the social media star “Juggling the Jenkins” you will love this true, raw book detailing her incredible journey. If you haven‘t heard of her, I urge you to look her up! She is hilarious and real in everything she posts.
