5/5 ⭐
Geniale. Lievemente più splatter/gory degli altri horror di Stephen King che ho letto, ma in maniera adatta alla storia.

Turned my trip to pick up your book @julesg into a treat yoself morning. And @Leniverse influenced me to pick up this SK book that's been on my Kindle forever. I think I have about 20 SK books left to read from his back catalogue, so that'll be a fun project for next couple of years.
I've been wondering why this character keeps calling Thad "old hoss" but I had sort of resigned myself to it. Then, more than 300 pages in I get the phrase "one-hoss shay" which made me ?????♀️. Fortunately the Kindle understood the phrase when I looked it up. ??♀️? It makes a whole lot more sense now. ?
Wow. I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did. An unassuming writer's pseudonymous identity is retired, but might have some thoughts of its own on being retired. This was an absolutely thrilling read from start to finish, with just about every chapter feeling like a race against the clock, right up until the sparrows fly, and one of the most capable and menacing King villains I've read. 5/5
This was a fun re-read of a King novel with a very weird premise (not that that‘s unusual with King!) satisfying ending, and some gruesome descriptions too 🤢
Plus HOW is it December?!? Here‘s my #bookspinbingo board 🤩
Perfect spooky read for Halloween! Although there‘s plenty of gore, what gives this book the perfect spooky factor is the suspense. The fear. Which King is the master at.
Finally getting a chance to sit down with my first read of the year.... Classic King so far, a "sport coat" has already been mentioned ?? I spot that in most King books I read and must Google what style it actually is!
#bookmail...... Still buying and reading King works for the first time 😀
Any recommendations about which to read first as equally keen for both lol?
Not as gripping as his other books and I didn't think this one had much going on.
I did finish it though after a second attempt and made it my 58th Stephen King read.
I think this is the only book of his that I've read that I won't return to for a re-read.
It was good to see the return of Sheriff Alan Pangborn though and it did have it's moments.
I would recommend if you have read a bunch of King‘s better work and are looking for more.
#bookspin done! The concept felt wildly improbable and almost dumb for about 70 pages and then I was HOOKED. And the ending was really satisfying - not always the case for all of King‘s books. A good, thrilling read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Interesting read. I liked a lot about it, but it dragged a bit for me. I just realized how good his chapter headings are. Never paid attention to that before. Automatic writing, The Coming of the Psychopomps (love that word). 3.5⭐️
Shout out to Natural Candy for the extra stickers they sent me!! #vegancandy and #StephenKing is my happy place.

Finally starting this one for #BookSpinBonanza at lunch today 😅
This is King's classic evil twin novel and its really good. Thad is a novelist who thinks he's killed off his more violent pen name until that pen name becomes flesh and then comes after him 🖤

I rewrote my #bookspinbonanza list to put them in order of reading. I‘m so excited to see how many I can get through, especially since I have a couple review requests for books not on the list 😅

Tonight's movie The Dark Half 👻
My favorite evil twin movie.

Almost done with this movie. Better than I anticipated, might have to read the book eventually.

“He sometimes believed that the compulsion to make fiction was no more than a bulwark against confusion, maybe even insanity. It was a desperate imposition of order by people able to find that precious stuff only in their minds . . . never in their hearts.” - Stephen King, The Dark Half
This book has been on my King shelf for years and I decided it was finally time to read it. I haven't seen the movie, but perhaps I'll try it out now.
I really enjoyed the creepy vibes in this one, and it kept me up late into the early morning hours to see just what happened with George and Thad and the sparrows.
For me, this was an extremely slow, painfully boring read. The concept was a stretch at best, and though I feel like it may have had some sort of personal significance to Stephen King, as a reader, it was not pleasant. I found it to be uninteresting, kind of gross, and all around a waste of time. I do not recommend this at all.
Two out of five stars.
With as many books under his belt as King has, there are bound to be some flops. For me this is one. This story was just really too far-fetched. And I know it sounds silly to say that about a S.K. novel, but I suppose I just wasn't sold on it. If you're not a completist when it comes to authors, this is one you could skip. It does have one of his characters that recurs in several of his books, Alan Pangborn, sheriff of Castle Rock.
“When Thad Beaumont wakes to forge nightmare of George Stark, he hears birds, thousands of them, all cheeping and twittering at the same time, and with the sound comes a presentiment full of memory and foreboding: The sparrows are flying again.”
This book did not fail to leave me on the edge of my seat especially in the final few chapters. Just when I thought the story would go one way it went another. I do enjoy a good Stephen King novel.
Christmas was so hectic that I just now got a chance to open my #christmasbookswap and thank @KrystleTheBookSlayer for such a thoughtful box! Thank you so much!
This was another King book that had me closing windows and locking all the doors. Very creepy and made me jump anytime I heard a noise in my house while reading!
#KingAtoZ
Been deciding all morning! G is for George Stark, who just won‘t be killed in this book 😁
#KingAtoZ @GarthRanzz
D is for the Dark Half.
This was the first ever King novel I read and it creeped me out. But not so much that I didn't go on to read most of his other earlier books that my brother had!
Sunday nights are my favorite! Especially with Stephen King and my little buddy Dexter.
