This book was fantastic. It shows how easily the world can and will go bad when things hit the fan.
I haven‘t finished the novel yet. So far we have visited the first town and met the sheriff and a therapist. Then we went to a jail and met 2 cell memebers who were talking about having dreams and starting a game show. The genre is horror and I would recommend for people who love Stephen King and this genre
Only book lovers can really appreciate how exciting this sight is. My new book fits easily all the way inside my new purse, without concerns about damaging the book or anything else in the purse. I broke the zipper on a brand new purse, trying to cram a book into it a few months ago. π€¦ββοΈ This purse is otherwise much larger than I really need, but this discovery makes me want to keep using the purse anyway. π π€ π π₯°
I‘ve been listening to this on my library app while at work. It had a slow start with a lot of different characters to keep track of and I almost wanted to bail. After four or so hours in, things are finally set in motion and I am enjoying the story now quite a bit, where I‘m halfway through now. What happens to the women when they fall asleep in the book reminds me a lot of what happens when people fell asleep in The Invasion.
A new favorite King(s) book. Sleeping Beauties gave me all the feels. Though not βpost-apocalypticβ it showed how quickly things can go wrong. Action and gore (its been a while since I‘ve read scenes that made me go ewwwww π)Also, the message to and about men was broad but deep. #bookspin 11 #bookspinbingo
I finished listening to this while doing some yard work today. It's been awhile since I've read a Stephen King novel, and this was thoroughly enjoyable!
This has been a great reading year so far, with one noteworthy exception. Prior to reading Sleeping Beauties I had read one King book this year. One! Luckily this will be remedied, in preparation for Billy Summers I am reading 3 of his recent books. Sleeping Beauties focuses on Dooling, in Appalachia, where a mysterious stranger appears at the time of the sleeping pandemic affecting females & a large cast of characters (including a fox!)π
I'm at nearly the halfway point in the tagged book. I'm immensely enjoying it. While reading the passages narrated from the fox's pov I can't help but think of Arab Strap's Fable of the Urban Fox from their wonderful album As Days Get Dark

Tried something different. It kept me completely in thrall but did seem to meander a bit, at times.
@AmyG I used to think I was a good shopper, but I bow down to you and your gifting prowess. You nailed it!!! I am so thoroughly delighted with everything I received. If all you had sent me was that Stand bookmark, I would have been over the moon. But I got so much more! Thank you @teebe for coordinating. I had never done one of these before and it was great fun. #creepychristmas
Bookish song Nr. 20: We are the Hearts
We're dancing through the smoke
And we don't mind the flames
Now we become the ghost
That you know by name
Imagine we are higher than the sparrows
Casually we're breathing with the pharaohs
Tragically we fall just like the arrows
You will hear our voices echo
We are the hearts
We will never be bought and sold
We are the hearts
Forever singing woo-hoo
We are the hearts

One quote from early on that seemed really on point during the times of COVID. π
This was my Halloween read this year, and after pondering on it a few days I‘m still left...disappointed. It was a page turner, it went by quickly...so should be a good read, right. But, for such an interesting concept, I was left disappointed in the execution, and finale. In many ways it reminded me of The Stand, world shattering event, humanity divided into two factions, with a supernatural being at the center (Evie Black and Randall Flagg ‡οΈ
I loved this audiobook! It was quite the commitment at over 25 hours, and the ending wasn‘t the best, but I really enjoyed the storyline and the overall message about gender equality and the environment. Lots of reading hour points for #teamslaughter with this one π! +16 points #scarathlon2020 #mystery
I started listening to this audiobook this morning and I...could....not....stop! By the time I left work I‘d listened to 6 1/2 hours!!! Between that and morning/evening reading I should make about 10 hours today πͺπ» ππ€
Goodbye September!
Books read in September: 38 - 5 of those were audio books, 15 books off my TBR.
Now it's time for October books!
Book Nr 15 off my #BookSpinBingo board
Just finished this great book thanks to #24b4Monday and a tasty Tiramisu β€οΈ
It's a typical Stephen King book - that means a page turner with characters that feel real and a plot that gets you hooked.
I just can't get enough of the King familyπ
@TheAromaofBooks
When I got up this morning, I spontaneously decided to join #24b4Monday π I'm sure I won't get close to the 24, but I'll try my best πͺ
Right now I'm at 2h 30min π
@Andrew65
Thanks @Mrs_B for the Tag! Sure I'd like to play :)
1) Tagged one of the books I'm reading now. Stephen King is always a great read.
2) Blacksmith Queen π
3) Chestnuts and pumpkins - yum yum!

This is what my #BookSpinBingo board looks like right now. At least I managed to finish my #BookSpin and my #DoubleSpin π
@TheAromaofBooks
Thank you for the tag @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks β€
It's already Friday here, so I have to hurry up π
1. As a bookseller I've met several authors, especially those who are famous locally. And the brother of my boss is an important politician in our town - if that counts.
2. That the bookstore I'm working at has a bright future ahead β€
I'm tagging everyone who wants to be tagged - we're all friends here, right? π

@Cosmos_Moon
Not my favorite. Took me a while to get through it and I was disappointed with the ending.
If you did #tarottakeover you probably noticed a pattern. When you draw tarot so much of your personal energy goes into it if you don't guard that and I clearly wasn't this week.
We are being evicted so here I am packing up my books for the fourth time in a year to move. Moving with a big book collection is so hard and I've made the very sad decision to put them in storage until I am permanently settled somewhere. It's breaking my heart. ππ
This summerβs King endeavour turned out to be another great pick. Though the plot felt a little bumpy at times, this is still pure King magic and exactly the kind of imaginative madness I want to lose myself in when thereβs little else to do.
Top Left on the shelf!
I'm tagging @DrShanJones @Kfjohnsonbooks to post your top left book shelf of tbr (To be Read) #tbr #topleftontheshelf
Treated my fiancΓ© to these beauties. The sleeping beauties is a limited edition version and the cover is beautiful with a tiger on the back too π love you @Jackal121
I didn't make it. πππ
I was so sad to see the 6:39 left, due in 5 hours. I had to place another hold on it so that I can finish it. π€¦ββοΈ
Trying to cram in as much of this book before my rental expiresπ
Currently rereading an old favorite at home, and listening to a totally new one during my suddenly longer commute. Loving this one so far, and super thankful to my favorite aunt who recommended this to me on Thanksgiving. β€β€β€
The story was good. Probably middle of the pack among other King novels. It was an interesting way to remind us that the women in our lives are more than we men deserve.
After reading War and Peace, something light should start of my next 10. The ones planned so far, anyway.
I'm not done with it yet but so far it's really good. It's one of those books I don't want to put down.
One of these days I‘ll get to this book. I have plenty more that are #Over500pages but this one was the closest.
My husband wanted to know which part of waking up a woman and that causing her to be violent was fictional. Smartass
#horrorcovercrush day 7
Who says a horror cover can‘t be pretty?
Sorry to be not posting, busier than I want to be.π
4β's. Really good! A great collaboration from the authors, felt like one author wrote it which I think is important. Great story.

It‘s Friday π a particularly awful situation in work finally got sorted yesterday so it‘s a new world today!!
I think it will take longer than one day to get used to it though as it‘s been going on for two years. But I‘m relieved to say the least.
