The Glass Castle: A Memoir | Jeannette Walls

Pickpick

This book is very good. From the beginning to the end we follow jeannette from her childhood all through out her life. It is a very interesting story and some of the things she had to go through were very terrible. If you like books that look more into peoples personal lives I would definitely read this one. The pov is first person and the author establishes this through telling the story through her own eyes at every point in her life

MissYaremcio Thanks for the review Ryder - I would have just liked more in the summary! 4.5/6 1y

In the amount I have read in this book so far, we have been learning about Jeannettes child hood. How she lived, where she lived, her family dynamics and how she interacts differently with each member of her family. If you like books that are memoirs you would like this one. One theme that is present in The Glass Castle is family poverty, we see this with where they live, how they live and how many times her father switches jobs

MissYaremcio Thanks Ryder! 6/6 1y

In this book. We go back to Oz but now Dorthy is the queen and she is Evil. Amy and the people that she meets in Oz work together to bring down Dorthy and kill her. We see the story through Amy‘s eyes and all of her thoughts and feeling about what‘s happening during her adventures and the internal struggles she goes through.

MissYaremcio Nicely done Ryder! I was just missing the label of the POV and the recommendation. 4.5/6 2y

Sleeping Beauties | Stephen King
Mehso-so

I haven‘t finished the novel yet. So far we have visited the first town and met the sheriff and a therapist. Then we went to a jail and met 2 cell memebers who were talking about having dreams and starting a game show. The genre is horror and I would recommend for people who love Stephen King and this genre

MissYaremcio Thank you for the review Ryder! I was just missing the theme and how it is established an an image! 3/6 2y
