#BOTM! can‘t wait and I think the Hilderbrand book will be one of my #guiltypleasure reads for #titlesandtunes !
Thank you for the tag @TheSpineView #Two4Tuesday
1. My favorite for May was Hula by Jasmin Iolani Hakes - on audio, the narration added to the fictional story as well as the history of Hawaii, and I enjoyed the occasional first person address to the reader.
2. Forager by Iliana Regan…I was hoping to join a local book club zoom with an intro by my fav local author Nikolas Butler, for him, I tried - it was just not my style so I abandoned the plan.
I really enjoyed this. A great story intertwined with some Hawaiian history I didn‘t know. The narration was well cast.
I would sell books and yarn, and maybe showcase local crafters/ artists. I would call it Knitting Prose. I think there should be coffee and homemade cookies and brownies, like grandma‘s recipes, to sell to donate to local causes. Maybe customers could submit their favorites ( selfishly I‘m getting recipes!). I‘d like to have a cat on the loose. Just writing this, I want it to be real❤️ #wondrouswednesday thank you for the tag @Kshakal @Eggs
1. Yard work and relaxing, I hope!
2. A little time travel, comfortable finances and a better future for my children/ the world then I envision right now.
#Two4Tuesday thank you for tags from @TheSpineView and @Kshakal
This first deck read of summer was good, sad, a bit twisty.
1. Minnesota
2. Often in the woods or somewhere rural. A little hardscrabble struggle is always a win.
3. Any place where Sarah Addison Allen tells a story or Hogwarts is fun!
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs thanks for the tag @Kshakal you may have inspired a margarita! 🍹
Stealing @Kshakal answer because yes, I hate when people start talking to me when I‘m reading. Every night my husband breezes in and starts talking when I‘m reading in bed. 🙄🤣 ❤️ I also get annoyed when people see me reading in public and say “I wish I had time to read”… It makes me feel like I‘m a slacker or something. Hey, this is how I spend my free time! Lol
I dropped hints and I‘m so glad. Happy Mother‘s Day from my husband. 🌸❤️ next up I‘ve treated myself to a few days off to relax, play pinball, plant some things and eat cake.
That not everyone will like me, but it is their loss. We often agreed on our awesomeness and how people who thought otherwise were reallllly missing out. I will miss her, the first Mother‘s Day in heaven. But damn, we had a lot of fun and I am so lucky to have had her, we were “so hot!” (Or so we‘d say) @StayCurious @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks #mothersadvice #litsylove
Listening to Emily Henry talk about her new book, with my knitting, on the deck, with the dog. Man, a perfect end to the day!
1. Ted Lasso on Apple TV, Survivor and Beef on Netflix…I also just started watching Tom Jones, I love Masterpiece Theater.
2. My own deck, which is so lucky as it is free lol! But also near water, any water anywhere.
3. I love Head‘s Up around the bonfire, my whole family does not so…I also enjoy Euchre.
#WondrousWednesday @Eggs
1. Maybe a getaway to mark my youngest daughters graduation, somewhere with water. And I have booked an end of summer trip to North Carolina with knitting girlfriends.
2. Beach reads, but then anytime I am near water they are a favorite, any season. 🏝️
#Two4Tuesday thanks for the tag @Kshakal @TheSpineView
This book is on one hand, beautiful, but also disjointed, in pieces, almost like a poem that tells a story. I need to let this marinate for a bit.
#Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView @Kshakal A day late!
1. English and history
2. Harry Potter is an obvious choice. I loved reading it along with my kids. Tru Biz was also a story with a school that was unique.
@BarbaraBB thank you for the #titlesandtunes background! I got the tagged book on the cheap for the #May #IslandVibe read and this song is absolutely summer for me, my kids watched Aquamarine over and over, and my youngest and I are going to Weezer next month!
Feels great to turn in super early to page through my latest Real Simple (I was a charter subscriber 👵) and continue reading my latest book.
1. Continued exercise, walking, running, yoga - as much for my mental health as physical health. And a gratitude journal.
2. Candy…all kinds
3. Memoirs about suffering and strength, specifically holocaust survival.
@Eggs #wondrouswednesday ❤️
7 years! It‘s been so wonderful to share a love of books! 🥳 and today i am also celebrating 1 year in my much less horrible position with the Department of Corrections! 😂🙌🏻
#camplitsy2023 picks - I want to read these anyways but will be more fun with a reading goal/ group!
Right now I would say Pedro Pascal, I love him, his voice, everything. Or Roy, Sam, Keeley, Rebecca or Jamie from Ted Lasso….Any foreign accent is typically a win for me, though I admit needing subtitles sometimes 😂 #sundayfunday @ozma.of.oz
1. Quality not quantity, in relationships and things. And you will be ok and stronger than you think.
2. Plane, not the flight so much as the destinations are more endless.
3. My husband 💯
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs thank you!!
I can get behind this, every month needs some #islandvibe @Cinfhen @BarbaraBB 🏖️ 🎵
1. I‘d spend more for sure!
2. I walked into the bookstore and I was like oh my gosh I just saw this and I was so excited!
#Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView Thank you for the tag @Kshakal
To those who celebrate, I hope your Easter rocks! 🎸 🐣
1. A disc jockey at a radio station or veterinarian
2. Well, I work for the sex offender registry so…
3. Rock, and truly “yacht rock” lately - and everything else except country music. I truly love music.
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs
1. I‘ve been told - caution, will ask too many questions.
2. Julian from A Little Life - caution - broken 😞
@TheSpineView @Kshakal Thanks for tags! #two4Tuesday
The very best book I‘ve read in awhile. A family saga of four sisters, they grew up so close…there was no light between them, but then how they each break off and become independent and grown up, what divides them and what brings them together. Sweet, heartbreaking, perfect. I ended this feeling very full of love for these characters, mourning the passing of this story. I‘d like more❤️
This is the best book I‘ve read in ages. I‘ve been in a funk and this is delivering me from it. I just felt so passionate about it I sent out three texts to my reading friends to stop everything. Big feels here and I‘m not done with it yet, I just wanted to capture this right here, right now. 🥰 #TGIF
A day late and a dollar short today, thanks for the tag @JenReadsAlot
1. Chloe Finley from The Sugar Queen
2. Minny from The Help
3. Chava from the Golem and the Jinni
Eleanor Oliphant honorable mention
#wondrouswednesday
1. My husband and I have been touring Wisconsin Supper Clubs monthly since December 2021, we‘ve missed a few as nicer weather is distracting, but we have found some fabulous options. Our favorite everyday place has become Paddy O‘Coughlin‘s - we have been meeting my dad there nearly every Friday in recent months. They have a great Old Fashioned.
2. YES! I love books set around food, all the things, recipes, regional specialties, etc.
#Two4Tuesday
1. I love an epilogue and wish for them often.
2. 🤔 I have no idea…maybe a sound track? Lol
3. Quiet, laying in bed or on my deck in the sunshine.
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs
#Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView
1. Stitch, Ohana means family 💗
2. That‘s a good question…of recent reads probably Fairy Tale by Stephen King.
Thank you for the tag @Kshakal
Anyone else watching Daisy Jones and The Six? Such a Fleetwood Mac story, I love a good rock tale. Well cast. 🎶 🎸 💔
1. Summer, none, aqua, tulips, anywhere there is a good story, Pepsi max, cards
2. The Comfort Book by Matthew Haig
#wondeouswednesday @Eggs
1. Continuing to learn and also enjoy vast travel in my imagination. It also is a key part of my evening routine, it helps me to relax and let the day go.
2. I have Maame waiting for me at the library. I also hope Big Swiss comes in, I saw it was an #aardvark offering but I abstained from buying it…so far
3. I like magical realism and I hope Emma Seckle is thinking up a new book right now 🤞🏼
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs
1. All the Broken Places by John Boyne.
2. Nothing special, getting through it to spring!
Thank you for the tag @Kshakal @TheSpineView #two4tuesday
1. Recently none sadly, but in the past A Little Life and East of Eden, even Eat, Pray, Love.
2. It‘s all emotional, did I like it, was it a good story. If I hate the characters I can still be objective (wee…subjective I guess) to whether it was well told.
3. Nope, I love music so much it can carry me right off.
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs
1. People talking at an event where a speaker is talking, or my husband talking to me when I‘m reading and when people flake at the last second. (Like last week driving 40 mins to yoga class, all the way on the mat and doh, it‘s cancelled!)
2. Characters with no self awareness or compassion for others.
