Am on a Phryne Fisher kinda kick recently. This book is as entertaining as the first with more concentration on the mystery this time.
If there is a small quibble - there were a couple of characters named Jack.... couldn't the author have picked another name? 😅
My first finish for #marvellousmarch. The second Phryne Fisher book. It was fun and quick, although it did touch on some very serious topics. I adore Phryne and her spunk and look forward to more in the series.
Book 150/2021. Finished 27/6/21 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Audiobook

I read and enjoyed this book in 2014.
Another reread, to cope with Brexit Day and other awfulness. Odd moment that struck me especially this time: Phryne perfectly understanding Bear and what he means to Candida.
I was browsing on BorrowBox the other day, just looking for something relatively short and easy so that I can #AudioWork, and came across this. Never heard of the author or character before, but Phryne Fisher is a kick-ass 1930s detective, and she flies aeroplanes, and that‘s good enough for me. In this one, she solves a kidnapping and a suspected murder. Think I‘ll track down some more of this series.
Charming and fun as expected from a Phryne book. I enjoyed that she was on multiple cases in this book and the way it switched back and forth between the two. Perfect for when you need a quick read!

I‘ve bought a lot of books this month! Too many according to my husband! This doesn‘t even include the thriftbooks order that is still on the way or the ones bought for my son 😂.
I‘m throughly enjoying this series on audiobook. Stephanie Daniel does a great job with the narration. #MountTBR
One reviewer said “Imagine Emma Peel as a flapper and you have Phyrne Fisher.” I agree! Love the books and the tv series! #readingwomenchallenge2019 #readingwomenchallenge Book From a Series
A quick reread for fun tonight. Phyrne! So delightful. #mystery #libby #missfisher
#BookMail Pt2 The 2nd book in the Phryne Fisher series is about a kidnapped child & a rich old man who is found dead in suspicious circumstances. It‘s also the first mention of her abilities as a pilot, with the prime suspect for the old mans death running a flying school. These covers really are fabulous aren‘t they? #phryneappreciationclub
Not the first time I‘ve read this, def won‘t be the last. Always 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Starting my Saturday with Miss Fisher.
1. We don‘t really have any. My husband works and we are still in AZ for his job so the kiddo and I will probably just hang out in the hotel room.
2. Done! I 💜 Phryne.
3. Sauerkraut.
4. Softball from age 5-14 (loved it but the coach at the high school was cruel and only played girls she liked so I never got to play). Then I was a football/basketball cheerleader in high school and college!
5. You too @jesshowbooks 😃
#friyayintro
1. My poor mom had a bad night Wednesday night and kept us both up until after 3 AM.
2. More reading!
3. Cray-yon
4. Flying Too High
5. Anyone who‘s still up may participate!
This second book in the Phryne Fisher Mystery series is just as delightful as the first. The book is simply charming. Highly recommended. 💫💫💫💫💫
“There were scones and strawberry jam with cream obviously obtained from contented cows.”
I love these Phryne Fisher mysteries. They are light and fun and witty. Book two was great. I will definitely keep reading.
#ifeelfine reading by the pool. I finished this #whodunitbymail mystery today and really enjoyed my second Phryne Fisher mystery. I love these quick and fun adventures that are short and fast paced. This one involves a murder as well as a kidnapping and Phryne comes through solving both while getting help from her ladies maid and her friends that dabble in detective work.

How many sex scenes are appropriate in a book you‘ve given your mother in law in a moment of “I love this series and she‘s needs a distraction but the first book is a little all over the place so hey, the second?”...🤦🏻♀️ Honestly, it‘s a great book and the 2 intimate scenes are only just above fade to black territory but so not MIL gift appropriate 🤦🏻♀️ Read it, don‘t gift it. Also Puff who saw an eagle out the window ♥️😊 #catsofLitsy
The second Phryne Fisher book was delightful. Hello Mr Butler! But not enough Jack Robinson.
A reread for me, so I can send off my #whodunitbymail selection. I originally read the audio. I always forget how unabashedly frisky Phryne is! #deweys24hourreadathon #readathon @DeweysReadathon
#deweys24hourreadathon here is my stack! @DeweysReadathon
These books are so much fun 🕵🏻♀️ I‘m loving the short length of them too, I‘m in a bit of a reading slump and these are just so easy to get through!
I really enjoyed this book! Great pick @MrsV !! #whodunitbymail @ReadingEnvy I‘m planning to get this into the mail to you tomorrow. I have a cold (or something) though so maybe Saturday?
So glad to have discovered Phryne! Thanks to @JenlovesJT47 for this! Also #planes #readingresolutions
1. Phryne Fisher - I started Flying Too High this morning and she is fabulous!
2. Probably Gone with the Wind
3. The beach & my family
4. @Karkar
Thanks for the tag. @SilversReviews ! #TuesdayTidbits
Taxes are done and supper‘s in the oven. Time to read!!
@dariazeoli I got this in the mail today!! Thanks!! #whodunitbymail
My padded envelopes are just a smidge too small for this round of #whodunitbymail and I‘m out of large ones! Hoping to get to the store and the post office in time to ship tomorrow, @BookishBelle !
Sassy Detective, no-nonsense Egyptologist, endearingly dysfunctional sleuth and Precious Ramotswe remain my #favoriteLeadingLadies #riotgrams
I‘m on a book buying ban, so I think my husband‘s eyes about popped out of his skull when there were three book deliveries today. The Book Outlet box was for my Cupid, but I did slip and buy these two for myself. 🤦🏼♀️ #bookhaul
I enjoyed this little mystery. It‘s the 2nd Phryne Fisher I‘ve read. It‘s good for a comfort read. #NewYearsReadathon
Taking a short breather to read some on my book. Undecorating isn‘t as fun as decorating. #11thHourReadathon @EclecticReaders #NewYearsReadathon @CocoReads
Hallelujah!! Litsy appears to be back! I apparently am quite an addict as I have not quite known what to do with myself today while Litsy was being repaired. Starting to read My #whodunitbymail book as it isn‘t too long and I‘m trying frantically to meet my Goodreads goal!
#litsycrash2017
A fun, delightful mystery! Before this book I had never heard of the glamorous detective, Miss Phryne Fisher. I was reluctant at first, but found myself quickly drawn into the multiple mysteries of this very "Sherlockian" tale. If you enjoy a fun Sherlock Holmes mystery, then you may delight in the adventures of Phryne Fisher. #WhoDunItByMail #Book3
There are certainly worse views while reading at a youth lacrosse practice. After seven years away from my mountains, I'm so happy to be back! #HappyFallYall
I had set this one aside because it's so short, and I figured I would read it quickly only too discover that I had set aside for too long and it has to be sent on by the end of next week! Oops! #WhoDunItByMail
I fly through these Phrynie books! (Pun well intended 😜) They are just a few hours to listen to and fun, history minded investigation stories. Definite pick!
@Susanita You saved the day! Here I was bummed that I had left my books at school, but when I opened my mailbox, the next #WhoDunItByMail was waiting for me! Woo-hoo!
@leslieseidel Your next book will be on its way tomorrow!
I'm a fan of the TV 📺 series. I adored Cocaine Blues. Even though I have the book, I listened to the audiobook. The reader is wonderful and changes between believable character voices seemingly with ease. However, this story just didn't grab my interest. I'm not done with Phryne though, and will read more of the series.
The intrepid Miss Fisher solves two crimes and lives life to the fullest in this (mostly) breezy, fun #whodunitbymail selection. This will be "flying" to you soon! ?
My next #whodunitbymail selection arrived today! Here it is among some of the books I'm currently reading or fixing to read soon. (As for #lotrchapteraday I'm a little wistful for Frodo that he doesn't just stay in Buckland.)
Phryne Fisher, the quintessential independent, daring woman of the 1920‘s is back in this second entry in the popular series. If you‘re a mystery reader and you haven‘t heard of Phryne, you‘ve been living under a rock. This was my first #WhoDunItByMail and it was so much fun!
