Aaron Mahnke has the best turn of phrase #lore
I‘m so excited to be finally reading these.
I adore Lore, and I am already reading these in the glorious Aaron Mahnke‘s voice, with beautiful music playin in my head 🎧 🎵
More Mary Roach... don‘t mind if I do! #weirdscience #maryroach #Iwillfinishmygoodreadschallenge
Not the first time I‘ve read this, def won‘t be the last. Always 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
As always, Mary Roach delivers a marvellous blend of humour and knowledge.
If you're squeamish, don't read while eating 😁
I adore Mary Roach‘s extra notes 📝
This one in particular I find quite amusing 😂
This is one of my partners fav graphic novels. So of course, being a Batman lover and relatively fresh into comics, I had to pick it up.
I have to say that I loved it. The entire thing is a wild ride from beginning to end! The art is beautiful, and the characters are pretty decently represented. If you‘re into Batman, and Graphic Novels, you should definitely check this one out!
In honour of my Batgirl 🦇 costume for Halloween this year, I decided to break out some of my partner‘s comics, starting with ‘Batgirl and the Birds of Prey‘
I‘m usually more of a Marvel fan, up I‘m slowly finding myself enjoying the DC universe more and more.
Only problem is, we only have Vol 1 🤣🤣🤣
It‘s been a long while since I posted here 😲
I‘ve a lot of reading since I was last here - still less than I‘d like.
Right now I‘m smashing through another Mary Roach book on my IPad - this will be the 3rd one I‘ve read of hers, and I also have another one lined up!
Stay tuned for many more updates!
On my way to work with my current reading material - I've just realised that if anybody asks me about what I'm reading (while travelling or at work) that I have to explain a book about sex science 😂😂😂
I LOVED this book.
The continuous theme of Death being hidden away and avoided at all costs, to the detriment of our species was fascinating to me, as I don‘t at all fear death, or the idea of seeing dead bodies. I identified with this book completely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was gorgeous to read - the Night Circus itself was beautifully created. I did find the characters a little hard to get invested in though, and the story jumps all over the place! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Breaking out the Kobo for some reading 👍
This one is a great look at the Serial Killers of Australia. There‘s more to our Killers than just Ivan Milat.
Really excited about this one!
Time to finish off one I started a while back. Still on a True Crime Binge apparently 😂
So, apparently the version of the book I am reading is an older edition(pictured), which means that it does not exist on Litsy, and has THREE LESS serial killers in it. So I am being forced to use the older version. It has my hometown Serial Killer though, so no worries 👍
This book was very well written. Told in a way that gives you the facts, but still makes you feel like a story is being woven. Everything flows together. I was carried right along for the ride.
Anybody who‘s ever heard of Jonestown know what happened there. If you have any interest in true crime, particularly cults, then I highly recommend this book.

Jim Jones - Always the man with a ready answer to suit his cause!

Just finished this one, and boy did it carry me through.
This book is an amazing mingling of story of H.H.Holmes and the very true to life take of the Chicago World‘s Fair.
Fair warning to anyone looking to read a book just about H.H.Holmes, this is not it. It‘s much more a tale of the Fair, and the horrors that took place alongside it.

Went to the beach today with the SO and step-loves. Got in some good, light summer reading 😂👌🌞🌊

This. Book. Is. Hilarious.
Before you read this without any context, I highly recommend checking out the podcast of the same name. Otherwise, nothing you read will make sense.
It‘s the annotations from Jamie, Alice and James that make this book what it is. It‘s perfect to wile away the time, as a mood lifter, or just to have a good giggle with your similarly perverted friends 😂 #mydadwroteaporno #podcast
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I absolutely loved this book!
The insights Mara gives into her life are fascinating. She delves into all sorts of things that are just a part of who she is, with each chapter telling a different story.
Fair warning though, the way the book is put together may be a little off putting for those who prefer their books to have more of a narrative flow, or even a chronological order. Mara doesn‘t do that here.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I enjoyed this one so much. The art was gorgeous, and the story was gripping enough to keep me going. Made me want to do a full deep dive down into even more Wonder Woman story lines.
I think this is a fantastic place to start for those who saw the movie and want to check out Wonder Woman in the comics, without having to take a deep dive into the DC comics universe .
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Reading about the “healing” Jim Jones performed is particularly fascinating to me. Especially seeing the way that they refined it over time.
I‘m greatly enjoying this one so far. It will be my second book in my #Murderino #readingchallenge
I think I may need something a little more light hearted after I finish this one though. Good think I have a few lined up 😁📖
My list for this year has grown substantially - Thankfully, this is well within my 50 books mark, so I feel this will get all filled up 😆
Just bought this one today, and I am genuinely excited to get into it!
It was so exciting to finish this one! I‘m looking forward to the next one, and getting into more of the story. The art is amazing, and I genuinely enjoyed the craziness of the stories - totally suits my idea of Harley as character 😊
Got my book, got my app and I'm ready to roll 😊
Decided to use the 2018 Murderino Challenge as a reading guideline this year, then realised I had already achieved one of the books 📖 😊
This is the first time I‘ve ever attempted a reading challenge with specific prompts, so I‘m looking forward to giving it a go. Check out #myfavoritemurder on Instagram to find the pic, and the credit for the person who created it.
SSDGM 🔪❤️
I love this line form the book so much!
I‘m thoroughly enjoying Mara‘s style of writing. So much so, in fact, that I have powered on past my set book club guidelines, because I just didn‘t want to stop reading!
Fully ready to start reading my book for the #readingglasses read-a-long 😊😊😊
My first book of 2018!
I've always loved Poirot, and this is one that I've read before. It was long enough ago, that I was still carried away in the mystery of who did it. There is a reason Agatha Christie is much loved author ☺
P.S. My stats are a little off, because the app had a bit of a conniptation the other day (I didn't read 133 pages in one day - though I could have).
The start of my 2018 reading journey - finishing off what I‘ve begun (plus my Jan Readalong)
Because I plan to hit a reading goal of 50 books this year 👍
Aaaah Poirot - always bringing the wisdom 👍
I‘m just 75 pages in, but I‘m loving Devil in the White City. The way that it‘s telling the story of H.H.Holmes along with the worlds fair is very well done.
When your day out in involves a perfect bookish photo!
I am honestly so excited to get into this more modern, post Joker, Harley Quinn ❤❤❤
True Crime at the laundromat - because what else am I going to do?
Books, coffee, breakfast and sunshine. It's a beautiful morning in the suburbs of Melbourne today!
Current book club progress - So far I'm completely fascinated by the descriptions of the circus. Not so much by the characters ☺
