I started this yesterday and got quickly sucked in. Thanks to the #whodunitthesequel for introducing me to this. I quite like crime noir and this was a little bit different than I‘m used to, in a good way. The main character is a black man living in the corrupt city of L.A. in 1948. It was interesting getting his perspective and I really enjoyed this. I‘ve already requested the 2nd book from my library. 4⭐️
#WhoDunItTheSequel friends: it‘s rotation time next week! I‘ve seen a few of you already rotating, so thank you for keeping up to date!
Also remember, let me know when your book makes its way home. Over the next few rotations, more of you will receive your book (or the replacement book) back. Thank you!
I really enjoyed this novel. The main character John is a sociopath he is also 15 & relates to serial killers so much that he thinks he may become one. Then someone is murdered in his town and he decides to go after the killer.
Jess could you email me Bookwormahn at Yahoo. I'm not sure if @aschermetz is still participating.

While interesting, this was ultimately just a so-so for me. The story of an unrepentant rare book thief who feels entitled to steal because rare booksellers overprice and should not be allowed to keep him from acquiring what he wants to feel self-important. Nice look into the rare book field, but Gilkey (the thief) tended to get on my nerves and rouse my anger. 🙄😡
Next up is my next #whodunitthesequel book. 🧐👀🕵🏻♀️
#WhoDunItTheSequel friends: here are our swap dates for the first half of the year.
When you receive your book and notebook, please post that it has arrived. We have gaps in the middle of the rotation, so some of us have received our books already (I received mine, for instance). I can then make note the book has completed the rotation.
