The BFG is a story about Sophie, a young orphan girl who is taken from her bed one night by a giant (the Big Friendly Giant). At first, she is afraid he might eat her, but the BFG does not eat humans. Sophie and the BFG become great friends as he keeps her hidden from the other giants and even takes her dream catching. When they hear that the other giants are headed to England to eat more little children, they come up with a plan to stop them.

I haven't done much reading today bc my covid booster has made me tired/feel a little under the weather BUT today's film is The BFG - an old favourite😊

🎶Mr Sandman, bring me a dream🎶
1. The scene of making dreams and nightmares has stuck with me since I first read it as a kid.
2. I once wrote a story about an urban explorer in an abandoned hotel. I gave myself nightmares for a month of something following me that I couldn‘t see but could always hear.
3. I hate it. 😂 It could be used well, I‘m sure, but it always feels like a cop out to me.

Love this although we are currently watching The BFG haha we read the books for reading time and bed time. Who else loves Roald Dahl? 👩👧👦❤📚 happy reading everyone
This is the first read for the Roald Dahl bookclub with my nephews. They are loving it and I love that the older one now is catching good dreams for his younger brother. Like all Roal Dahl's books I love the puns, but I can't help feeling that the BFG wasn't as big or as friendly with the other giants; as he explains giants are not as different from humans after all;we eat piggy-wig every day even though they never do any harm to human beans.
A re-read, it was to be the class read for my child next week. I suppose I should read it before I teach it 🤣, good job I‘m a bookworm. #roalddahl #theBFG
Holy snozzcumbers we‘re finally talking about The BFG on my podcast! Christina Hammonds Reed — NYT-bestselling author of The Black Kids — joins me to discuss this wacky, beloved Roald Dahl book, published in 1982. We chat about the good, the bad, the dreamy, and the problematic! ✨ Link to listen in bio.
#3boojs I‘ve reread
During this challenge I‘ve already highlighted many of the book I habitually reread, so today I‘m highlighting books I loved as a kid and then reread with my kid. #iheartroalddahl
Watching BFG with my kids and @TheWolfbehindTheEyes love family time. Brings back childhood memories with my sister @CymbaX13 📖👑🐁🔮🛏️ will have to reread it to my kids as they love the films ❤️📚🙃
I don‘t believe I ever read this as a kid, though I loved Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. I read it for a reading challenge prompt for book with made up words in it. The BFG has a real way with words, made up or not. Am I right or left?
This was a sweet and cute story. I loved the language used by the BFG.
And with this book I also finished my April #triplespin and now I need to wait for a new round in June.
TBR since October 2014, 208 pages.

Listening to The BFG on audio is a different experience altogether. 😍Makes me take a longer walking route.
Happy to see the tiny yellow flowers sprouting along the sidewalk. 🌼💛🌼
Wiz-poppers , dream-catching, The Queen of England and a Big Friendly Giant was a delightful way to spend a few hours this morning. An enchanting audio,as suggested by my fabulous friend & #bookseller @KarenUK for #PoP20 #MadeUpLanguage #ReadWithMrBook 🎧💜For all my friends who have little Littens, I suggest you listen to this audio with them. It‘ll bring giggles and snorts of laughter 😁❣️Hilarious sound effects and brilliant narration.
Hello fellow Littens! I hope everyone is safe and managing to deal with this Corona Crisis 🤗 it looks as if the Museum I am working for will reduce costs by eliminating one of the highest expenses: me. It‘s not through yet but I am certain that I will soon be unemployed. This sucks but I‘m sure on the long run it‘s for the best. I hope your bosses are finding better ways to deal with the crisis!
Now to some light reading to cheer me up.

Well that audiobook was completely delightful. What a wonderful throwback to my childhood. My mum was a lovely ‘out-loud‘ reader, and actor/comedian/children‘s author David Walliams reminded me so much of the magical experience of being read to as a little ‘un. I love Dahl‘s icky, silly stories that sneak in some mirror to our humanity. I felt like my 6yr old self again. A story of dreams and friendship. 4hrs well spent💕

Finished my first #authoramonth title a few days ago but haven't taken time to post. This was my first time reading this one. It was cute, not a favorite Dahl, but enjoyable.
@Soubhiville
This book was a little disturbing with all the man eating giants and even the bfg was rather creepy. It's main redeeming factor was the the man doing the audio sounded a bit like Hagrid when he did the bfg's voice.

The BFG is a fantasy novel that has been one of my favorite books since my childhood. In this novel written by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Quentin Blake, an orphan named Sophie meets a Big Friendly Giant (BFG) and learns all about the life of giants And their crazy vocabulary. This book won Germany‘s only state-funded literacy award, the “Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis”.

Sophie was ‘abducted‘ by a friendly giant called The BFG and taken to the land of giants where there‘re other bloodthirsty giants who hunt and eat #human beans (beings). Sophie and the BFG formed a close friendship and embarked on a mission to stop the giants from eating people. A great story that touches on loneliness and relationship. Book and movie are good.

None of my audiobook holds were available so I decided to try this classic. I had never read Dahl before. I truly enjoyed it. I'm so glad I listened to it because of the Giants made up words it made it funnier
