3. James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and everything Roald Dahl. Loved the Boxcar Kids too. @Cupcake

I took the girls to the cinema for a treat to see Wonka. Great soundtrack, great effects but you can‘t beat the original 🍫 🍿 🎥

One last book for 2023. It‘s going to satisfy “Read A Children‘s Classic” on a book challenge and will help me hit my goal of reading 30 books on my #unreadbookshelf this year.

I think 9yo me would have read this a hundred times because I was dark AF as a kid. And that is what this book is--dark AF. And I don't think I'm at a particular point right now where I want dark kidlit. This book didn't completely work for me, although there are some things I liked.

I did like Grandmamma. She is a badass. I kind of want a retelling from her pov.
