I guess I could have picked a tag that spelled Taiwan's name right and included Pratchett, but oh well. This book always gets laughs out of me.

I loved this show, which I saw before I read the novel. And I am so glad a book club decided to pick this as the #May book pick. This was my fav in 2022

This is just not my type of book. It reminded me a lot of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I am not a fan of dry humor. This book would be great for someone who enjoys that type of book, it is just not me. There are many rave reviews and great comments. If you are a fan of Hitchhiker's Guide or Dogma, you will likely love this one as well.
Day 12 of #scarathlondailyprompts is grave. Early in the story, one of the MCs meets up with two others at a grave to exchange a valuable item.
I just did a buddy read with a sweet friend. We both really enjoyed this one with its dry humor.

So Audible had another 2 for 1 credit sale & I picked up 4 books. It ends tonight. In mere minutes.
I have Good Omens. A different version. I still chose the full cast edition. 🤨
2 books are completing 2 series & one will help me purge so I can buy more books 😆
It was very clever about the end of the world and the Antichrist being misplaced, etc., but I had a hard time getting into it. I think I would have liked it better 20 years ago or so, when I was more in a mood for it. I'm not quite as much into fantasy / humor now. Series on TV may be good though. I still recommend it for those who like early Neil Gaiman and basic Pratchett.
Re-reading good omens because I have not read it in this nice edition (but highlighting favourite quotes in the epub...)
Finished this one today while running errands. I loved this book. It was super cute. I am looking forward to re-visiting the Prime show (I remember I absolutely loved it) - Pick of Carwash :)

A real change-up compared to what I‘ve been reading, this book is just… fun. Shockingly anticlimactic for a book about the apocalypse, but in a doesn‘t-take-itself-too-seriously kind of way. A nice blend of biblical doom and comedic absurdity. Takes a bit of prior knowledge about England and the Bible, but its generally accessible I think, (and the footnotes certainly helped lol!)
I'm also starting this book. Stopped by a local library and they did not have available
a Jemisin book I wanted so I picked up this one. I like Pratchett and Gaiman so it might be good. Did not see any of the series.
This month's pick for #NovelWatchingCrew (#NWC)
I am really looking forward to re-watching the show :) I loved it the first time. I am using this as my #AudioCommute / #AudioChore book :)

#WrapUp for March
📚 7 total reads for the month.
Enjoy all of them! Last month of pure pleasure reading.
From April I'll have to start-up my studies again and read a few more compulsory books that the fun ones.
But I am to track them as well...
I mean I am reading, just not necessarily what I wish to read.
If you haven‘t tried this book yet, I advise you give it a try. It‘s long, but we‘ll worth all the stories it tells. It focuses on the end days and pokes fun at ideals that have been built up. An amazing book. ❤️ #2022reads
I‘m giving this read a 3.9⭐️ but in truth as being very generous. I love Neil Gaiman… He is creative, dark, funny and very imaginative. All of these qualities were present in this book, so in that regard it wasn‘t lacking. However, there were so many times that I actually found myself bored can dreading having to go on. Overall the book wasn‘t bad but it wasn‘t great and it kind of left me disappointed. This was also my second #roll100

I love recommending books and try to match a person's personality, but these are some that get brought up again and again, in no particular order:
📚 Good Omens
📚 Neverwhere
📚 Recursion
📚 Lamb
📚 Skyward
📚 The Way of Kings
📚 Flowers for Algernon
📚 The Princess Bride
📚 The Little Prince
Honorable mention: Under the Whispering Door -- recent read, so hasn't been recommended much, but it will be.
So many to choose from, but this one gets my vote.

I'm still working on this one. Gunna listen to alittle before I fall asleep. I hope it's not too quick cuz I got clothes in the washer. Haha

A librarian gave me a bit of a chuckle yesterday when she complimented my “pretty fairy” badges 😜 I took the opportunity to recommend the show (since these guys are based on the opening credits) and got recommended Katla in return. I love when conversations turn into impromptu book and tv recommendations!
I listened to the audio and was confused by so many characters and voices, though it is witty and amusing. I‘ve started watching the series, which makes thing clearer for a visual learner like me. These 2 are amazing ☝️ #god #conflictedworlds @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
Feeling alittle weird since u can actually see my pics (usually hate my picture taken). Getting ready for bed while still listening to Good Omens. Enjoying it.
How is everyone doing tonight?
Doing alittle bit of coloring while I listen to the tagged book. Really enjoying it. I might have to rewatch the show after I'm done.
@ElizaMarie @AsYouWish @jb72
Listening while I try to get the weekly check-ins done and up before midnight.
What do u think she is thinking about??? Is she going to rip ur head off if u interrupt her reading 1 more time??? Haha

This audio production is excellent! I‘d forgotten how witty and funny the characters are - so personably quirky. 😄 I am anxious for season 2 of the tv adaptation!!!
I finished my Good Omens reread. This is time seven or eight, I think. GO is my feel-good book; but for the first time, I didn‘t love it. The gay jokes really bothered me (more so than in the past; I didn‘t realize how pervasive they are) and the fat jokes, too. Also, I didn‘t love the adaptation when I watched it last summer and it colored my reading.
Now I‘m sad.
Weird book synchronicity - reading HP with the kiddo and just began a reread of my favorite book; and I realized Miranda Richardson was in the adaptations of both. I was reading Madame Tracy to myself today, and then reading Rita Skeeter to the kiddo, and it dawned on me. Odd.
Also, my GO copy looks filthy from reading it so often. And the more I read the less thrilled I am with having watched the GO series. My in-head voices are off now.
Silo is loving the Good Omens adaptation. My teen picked it out, and we're all having a great time with it.
My Good Omens Funkos arrived!!! 😀
Audiobook version.
I normally love Gaiman's work but I just could not get into this. I might try it again down the line as everyone raves about it- or maybe I will just watch the show. Everything felt too clean and the characters were not interesting enough.
For now, I am out, opinion subject to change, but I have too much of a backlog to finish something that feels like pulling teeth.
Sorry Neil, Terry, still a big fan of your works.
This was so witty! I felt like I was retreading the tv show and yet, it was different. So easy to get through! I loved the characters even more than I did before, if that was even possible. A great way to unwind after all the intense fantasies I‘ve read!
I reread Good Omens this past week on a whim. I still enjoyed it, but there is some casual racism that really makes me cringe now. And the idea that Pestilence threw in the towel and became Pollution hasn't aged well 😂
(No, I haven't seen the tv series.)
If you ever had doubts about religion or having an existential crisis, this book won't help. But it will make you giggle hysterically. You will fall in love with either Aziraphale or Crowley. Or both. After reading you will hum 'Bohemian Rhapsody' every time you enter a car. Bonus: the series is on Amazon and is also very good!

This was great, full cast dramatisation 4 hours long I laughed out loud so many times.
I could never get through the book but the audio was great and the TV series was great as well.

This is the second month in a row I tried but couldn‘t commit to this one.
I think of the bail button as a “pause until I‘m in a different mindset” button. Honestly if a book is bad I‘ll still finish it and mark it as a “pan”. I feel like if I catch myself in the right mood I‘d like this one, or maybe I‘ll just check out the show 🤷🏼♀️
Taking it off my #bookspinbingo board though and revisit it in a few months.
