drokka @DivaDiane I wouldn't get any reading done if I were a monogalit I've always got an audiobook, generally two mysteries (cozy, historical, or contemporary mystery/thriller), a romance, and now postal tour ones too. Huzzah for mood reading 😂 6y

DivaDiane @drokka Huzzah! Mine vary more by format; I‘ve got a dead-Tree book, an audio book, a book on SerialReads (and sometimes an ebook), then I read aloud to my son and my husband (different books). I also always have a poetry collection in the works and sometimes a non-fiction. 6y

Valink I just joined today, so when I get home from work I plan on browsing my piles of books and setting a goal for myself of which/how many of my already owned books to read this year. Do books that I started a year or two ago then abandoned count if I finish them this year? I have a pile of those too! 😂😂 6y

DivaDiane @Eggs That‘s fine! We don‘t require you to read ONLY TBRs, but if you need some rigor you could stipulate that you may read/purchase one new book for every 2 (or whatever you think will work for you) read from your TBR Pile. 6y

DivaDiane @Pamwurtzler Library books count, sort of because they are on a deadline. Especially, if you‘ve had to renew them because they‘ve gone unread. Also, if they‘ve been on a Want-to-read list for a long time, they can count. It‘ll leave it up to you how lenient you want to allow yourself to be. 6y

Amandajoy I usually do audio books when driving or flying because I get sick if I read. Right now I‘m traveling for work/school stuff so it means I don‘t have a lot of down time to read. Hopefully it‘ll get better soon, but I‘m starting a new program so I may not get a lot of reading done in the next couple months. 6y

Progress: Ten Reasons to Look Forward to the Future | Johan Norberg

TBH I‘m a little discouraged on my reading right now. My goal was 52 📚 and I don‘t think I‘ll make it. Finishing the #ReadHarder challenge is feeling like slog and I keep bailing on challenge books. I am taking stock and think next year I‘m going to read fewer books, harder books, and not do challenges. Read more philosophy, religion & history— maybe try to find my meaning in life, all that. And of course as much politics as I can stomach, too.

rockpools Don't be discouraged- it's not just the numbers! I think it's great to be thinking now about what you actually want to read more of next year though. Also, which have you enjoyed most/been the most surprised by this year? 6y

alisahar @RachelO such a good question! This book was fantastic. Also loved Killers of the Flower Moon and My Life In France by Julia Child.

Caroline2 I want to read all of Austen's books and I want to tackle the Russians!! 💪🏻 Tolstoy, Gogol, Dostoyevsky, Pasternak etc! I have all their books on my shelves and I've still not read them yet!! 🙄 I also want to read all of Hilary's books too! 👍🏻 6y
