I finished reading Giovanni‘s Room and The Watchmaker of Filigree Street too. Christmas sundaes with Cinnamon Roll Swirl and Creme Brûlée also pictured ?

An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States | Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz

This week: I finished two books and recommend both of them. I read An Indigenous People‘s History of the United States for @LitsyFeministBookClub
Notes on a Foreign Country is really interesting and has sections about Turkey, Greece, Afghanistan, and the US. The other picture is from a walk in a Japanese garden. Have a good weekend Littens☀️

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (Turtleback School & Library) | Judith Viorst

Feeling a bit like Alexander right now. Election blues, then my mandatory blood tests came back with some major issues (blood way too thin, heart failure level the worst it's been). Behind on #NaNoWriMo, then the above 12 year old dog woke me up today because she was tearing & eating strips from my 3 month old (birthday present) rug. She immediately vomited half & I had to pull the rest out of her stomach via strands still hanging from her mouth.

GlitteryOtters Oh, and being on your period when your blood is way too thin REALLY SUCKS. It's been a really rough week. Let's just hope this little goober threw up all the rug she ate, as I really don't want to add emergency vet trip to my laundry list of this week's fun times. Yes, I know I should take her in regardless if she does something like this, but she's half Ridgeback. They eat EVERYTHING. We'd live at Emergency Vet if we did that. #thisweek 7y

kiminreverse I came home a few nights ago to find that my dog ate a huge section of fleece blanket. I made her throw up and we skipped the vet too. She's eaten socks, she had surgery to remove a towel she ate, etc. 7y

GlitteryOtters @kiminreverse ugh, I know how that is. My other old lady dog usually doesn't eat inappropriate things, but once ate her collar (! I think it came off while these 2 were playing), threw up, but there was clearly some missing, so we took her to the emergency vet where they thought she threw up the rest. Nope. Sat in her stomach 6 months before she threw up rest on her own. 😳Collar company sent free replacement as it was supposedly indestructable 😂 7y

GlitteryOtters @CherylDeFranceschi thank you...yeah, it's a little too much. I would love to go hide in bed under the covers, but I have a ton of fresh veg in the fridge which I need to cook up into meals to freeze so, sadly, not much downtime for me right now. I was going to listen to a new audiobook while cooking, might switch to re-reading an old favorite instead for the comfort factor. 💕 7y

Suzze Oh, dear. Too much on your plate right now. And health issues are the worst as they just cause so much stress. Hoping things resolve themselves, puppy has no tummy problems, and everything in your life gets better and better! ❤️❤️❤️ 7y

GlitteryOtters @Suzze absolutely. Now all the stress has my tummy in a jam & *I'm* the one feeling all gross (said pup is blissfully asleep, all relaxed, on the dog couch right now). I'm about to go do some cooking therapy (batch cooking and freezing meals for future days, when I feel too awful to cook). Hopefully the combo of listening to a good audiobook & prepping some of my favorite foods will make me feel better. Hope the weekend is treating you well! 7y

Dragon Sorry for such a bad week, I am glad you have some plans for the day and you are sounding better. Here's hoping your pup has expelled all the rug ! When you are ready this incident will make a funny story. You could call it The Curious Incident of the Dog Who Eats Rugs . 7y

GlitteryOtters @Dragon we have stories of The Curious Incident of the Dog Who Eats Three Rugs, Two Shoes, Several Toy Parts, A Book (Once & Only Once), Blankets, A Dead Mouse, A Loaf Of Bread, A Remote Control & Her Husky Sister Who Ate A Dog Collar (and Kept Part Of It In Her Stomach For Six Months). We also have tales of her deceased older brother who helped teach her these skills. Thankfully our other dog is too dumb to get into much trouble. 😂😂 7y

I'm used to the health issues, mostly I'm disappointed as I thought she was past rug eating (we've only had tiny area rugs lately, but as she had gone over 4 years since she ate her last rug, we thought she'd outgrown it). I asked for these 2 big rugs for my birthday partially to help my almost 15 year old Husky with neurological issues get around--she slips on the wood floors, so the rugs were a godsend for her. 7y
