“In a fit of desire, he tore off her coat, and her scarf, and her hat, and her gloves, and her neckwarmer, and her zip-up, and her sweater, and her long-sleeve, and her turtleneck, and her snow pants, and her flannel-lined jeans, and her fleece-lined leggings, and her long underwear, and her wool socks and her other wool socks.”
Lots of Maisey Yates and Caitlin Crews books in Kindle Daily Deals today 🔥 🔥
These ladies are local to me 🙂
Tagging a random book because this one isn‘t on Litsy. I‘ve been reading romances lately thanks to about a million TikTok recommendations I‘ve come across, and I‘m about to start book two in this series. Witches, mages, demons, etc, very entertaining! Check TW from the author at the start of the book. The series (Emerald Lakes) is on Kindle Unlimited 😎
Romancelandia on Twitter is a never ending source of learning and fascination for me. There‘s an author claiming they started M|F Omegaverse and they‘re claiming another author copied them. M|M has been around for at least a decade so and I don‘t know how much M|F existed at the start but there‘s a LOT of Omegaverse fanfic. Courtney Milan has been tweeting about it if you‘re one Twitter.
I wanted to read Tomi Adeyemi‘s book but then she accused Nora Roberts of plagiarizing her title & half-assed the apology & pretty much stood by while her fans attacked NR. NR was one of the authors plagiarized in the #CopyPasteCris fiasco, her response is “I will burn your crops & salt the earth”. TA is lucky this isn‘t the response she received. http://fallintothestory.com/plagiarism-then-and-now/ Don‘t mess with NR, or Romancelandia.
Welp. The plot thickens. It looks like #CopyPasteCris had some of the books plagiarized tucked in with books on writing. There‘s photographic evidence from an interview with the NYT. She wants to blame it on a ghost writer but a couple have come forward and said she‘d offered them work that was going to be extending/fixing/whatever she had already written.
I‘ve learned a lot about writing and publishing in the last 7 to 8 years, and it‘s all been enlightening. But none of it mite so than what I‘ve seen the last couple of years on Book Twitter. Holy biscuits! This is one of the best tweets - I have a few more I may share tomorrow.
It continues. Now #CopyPasteCris is claiming it‘s the fault of her ghostwriter(s) but another ghostwriter has stepped up and said that when they worked for #CopyPasteCris they were given material they assumed was the author‘s and told to make it more complete. And they also weren‘t paid, which appears to be a real problem for ghostwriters (as well as underpayment). There are updates from Courtney Milan and several other people.
The person who plagiarized Courtney Milan‘s Book has submitted the plagiarized work for a RITA - AND she‘s apparently in plagiarized something of Tessa Dare. Romancelandia is gonna burn it all down!
Any good YA romance book suggestions???

I cannot wait for this new podcast - reading/writing romance novels with intention. I loved Vanessa and Ariana's work on Harry Potter and the Sacred Text and I always love the idea of promoting sacredness in everyday moments.
NB: To make it clear, they're not looking to replace anyone's religion. #romantsy
Sometimes I feel like I should have a talk with my local library used book store 🙄🤨 They keep mislabeling romance books.
Exhibit A: FSOG labeled as General Fiction
Exhibit B: Any other romance, regardless of level of steaminess labeled as Erotica.
#romance is not a dirty word
Haven‘t done much #writing in the last week or two but after a break and some good feedback on my first (by people who aren‘t related to me lol). I‘m ready to start seriously revising, as well as working on so@e other things. Plus, I left my assassins (from a writing exercise) hanging out in the wind—is like to see where that goes. #creativitytime
Fled to the bedroom to work on #campnanowrimo the hub got off work early and has taken over the living room watching boring stuff loudly. Maybe I‘ll have some inspiration hit.
One of my weekly favorites #friyayintro
1. Not signaling when driving 🤷🏼♀️ can‘t think of anything else right now 😂
2. Cake, pie, cookies, cheesecake...
3. Nemo , black and white long haired kitten named after Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland
4. Romance- like the ones with Fabio on the cover sold at the grocery store
5. Happy Friday #littens!!! @HaleyKamilla @Hayley @HappyBirdie @happygoluckycat @HamptonAKA
Here is a new one to add to #cheesyromancepaperbacks. This book is from 1977 and has a cigarette ad in the centre of the book. Just gotta love charity shop scores.
Trying to squeeze in some writing time before I leave for the evening. Guinness is in a carb coma (and really hard to see because black dog and bad lighting) because he keeps eating loaves of bread off the counter while we‘re at work. #nanowrimo
I'm in the mood for a contemporary romance for this weekend and need some suggestions! I like snarky heroines, heroes who are not controlling jerks and witty dialogue. Preferably something that's not too obscure that our library system might have on Overdrive. Thanks! #romantsy
FLAIR (or #romanceclassFlair) is a new, ongoing project to release steamy contemporary romance (in English) by Filipino authors. There are four new titles from four different romanceclass authors about to be released, and these books will be unapologetically sexy. What can you expect? Alternating POV. New ways of telling favorite tropes. Filipino characters. Filipino book cover models. Lots of heat.
I was never much of a romance reader , but these old Harlequins caught my eye at a library sale. One on right 60's ,one on left 70's.

This documentary is in Hoopla! I watched it to decide if I can use it with my reading class. It's a pretty decent overview of the romance industry. I'm kind of an outsider to romance so always looking to learn more.#romantsy
